The species is Megalania?

Why does this name sound familiar to me...

Oh, right! Once when I was playing a certain game, the story included a special animal called "Megalania".

Megalania is an extinct massive lizard that used to be part of nature around 50,000 years ago.

From what I have read, this kind of lizard is 620 kg with a maximum length of 7 meters. Megalania was known as the largest terrestrial lizard. One more thing about this kind of lizard was that it possessed all kinds of toxic poisons on its body which could make its prey bleed to death.

And based on the looks and the stats of this lizard here...everything is matched.

Chloe asked me. She was still in the same position as before, laying her whole body over mine.

For how long does she plan on staying like that?

She got closer to me as she said that.

I already have a plan on how to defeat this kind of monster, that was another reason why I was telling this kind of information to her.

[ I see, so we should probably try and dodge all of its attacks. ] ( Chloe )

She thought for a second as she said that.

I took Shiro out of my hood and placed it near the rock. I also create a barrier around her so she wouldn't get hurt.

[ Yes, but I have a plan. ] ( Hatsuko )

I told her as I got out of there and revealed myself to the monster.

Chloe looked at me in confusion.

The moment I revealed myself, the monster stared at me without moving from that place.

Is it going to attack me?

Even after standing still, that lizard didn't move from that place until I took the one step closer.

That lizard opened its mouth as much as possible.

Here it is, its first attack!

Fire started coming out of its mouth which it managed to reach my distance.

But before its fire could reach me, I managed to dodge by flying above. The lizard tried the same attack once again while I was floating above him.

But the same attack won't be working on me. I easily dodge its fire breath by flying to another side.

From here, I noticed Chloe who was looking at me from behind that rock.

Before I receive Chloe's help I wanted to try something.

"Materialization"

I created the sharpest Katana on my right hand.

Let's see, if it can dodge this attack.

As I thought that, I started charging down towards that lizard. Another fire attack came from that liard but I managed to dodge once again while I was closing my distance with that monster.

The lizard doesn't seem on planning to dodge me. Does it have confidence in defending my attack?

I aimed right at the middle of the lizard's body. I grabbed my katana with both of my hands and using all of my strength I tried slashing the monster.

*CLIIIINGBOOOOOOOM!!!*

At the moment of impact, I heard a loud sound of metal slashing. Did my attack reach some kind of hard rock? I couldn't see clearly from all of the dirt and dust falling down caused by the impact.

Maybe I overdid this...

But I celebrated too early, in the next second I looked at the surface which my katana had reached. It was some kind of metal-like rock...

Wait...

As the view was getting better, I noticed that it was the body of that lizard. My attack didn't manage to damage that lizard at all.

What?!

Noticing that I was right next to it, that lizard tried biting me.

But I immediately took some distance away from that monster. If I was one-second slower, that monster would have ripped my arms apart.

*CLING!!*

Its teeth clashing with each other released a sound of metal crashing with each other.

I flew towards Chloe really fast and checked if Shiro was okay.

Shiro was still inside the barrier looking around the place.

She must have been woken up by the loud sound.

[ What the hell was that?! ] ( Chloe )

Chloe asked as she got near to me.

[ Its body has changed into some kind of metallic type of thing, making all of the physical attack useless! ] ( Hatsuko )

I said to her as I placed Shiro in a safer place, using "Telekinesis".

[ So w-what do we do now?! ] ( Chloe )

She was freaking out a little but she managed to keep her cool.

[ That's when you come in. ] ( Hatsuko )

I said to her as I grabbed her body--

[ Huh? What?! ] ( Chloe )

--and threw her towards that metallic lizard.

[ WAI—aaaaA!!! ] ( Chloe )

Not having any other choices, she pulled out her dagger and tried landing her attack on that lizard.

*Cling!*

Her attack didn't leave a single scratch on that monster.

I wasn't expecting her to injure that monster at all. But my plan was a bit different.

If she manages to survive for some minutes, I might be able to kill that thing,

That lizard tried biting Chloe, in the same way as me. But she surprisingly dodged it by going over its body.

As Chloe was keeping that monster busy, I stared at that monster's heart.

"Eyes of destructing"

With this skill, I should be able to destroy that monster's vita—

Blood started coming out of my mouth.

As Chloe was trying to dodge all of the monster's attacks, I stood there thinking for a second.

Even after all of my attacks, that monster managed to survive.

Maybe this Lizard is the last soul which my status requires!

As I thought that, a smirk appeared on my face,

[ Keep that monster busy for some seconds! ] ( Hatsuko )

I told her as I flew from behind that lizard and placed my hand over its skin.

[ Okay! But I don't think I can keep this for too long! ] ( Chloe )

She said as she tried taking the monster's attention to herself.

The monster doesn't seem to have noticed me.

"Life Draining"

One advantage I had was that this monster didn't move much.

[ Hatsuko!! ] ( Chloe )

She called out my name as she was trying to avoid the lizard's bites. I already had realized from her voice that she wasn't going to last any longer.

The lizard turned around and hit Chloe using its long tail.

I could feel my bones crushing from his metallic teeth. That monster could rip off my arm but it kept its teeth stuck in my flesh. Is it trying to poison me?

My whole body was becoming numb.

Its "Paralyze" skill was spreading in my whole body.
