I looked at her as I asked this question.

[ Not really, why? ] ( Chloe )

She calmly responded to me.

[ It's nothing, don't worry about it. ] ( Hatsuko )

I didn't want to alarm Chloe if it was just me feeling this way. Maybe I'm just tired from constantly using my powers?

But I don't feel that tired unless I use a considerable amount of my stamina.

After we arrived at the cave, we set up a small place where we could sit down. The fireball that I had created kept us warm, so we didn't need to make the same kind of tent as before.

The moment I sat down, I rested my back at the cave's wall. It was a bit cold, but I tried ignoring it.

Chloe on the other hand, sat right next to me and rested her head on my shoulder.

I looked at her as she wasn't saying anything.

And in a few seconds, I saw as she slowly closed her eyes.

Thanks to my skill "fireball", the place around us became warmer as time was passing by.

I didn't understand why, but it felt natural that Chloe was sleeping right next to me. She was sleeping as if she had complete trust in me.

*click* *tap*

Suddenly from the darker side of the cave, I heard the sounds of something falling on the ground.

The moment I heard those sounds, I turned my head towards the sounds.

[ Hatsuko? ] ( Chloe )

Chloe woke up as she noticed my reaction.

[ Get up, there is something over there. ] ( Hatsuko )

I said to Chloe as I kept looking at the way those sounds came from.

Both me and Chloe got up as we were waiting to hear more sounds.

Chloe pulled out her daggers while I created my usual katana on my right hand. I already could see in the dark, but I still couldn't find nor sense anything.

[ Stay behind me in case something happens. ] ( Hatsuko )

I told Chloe as we started going deeper into the cave. She showed me a smile without saying anything.

What could be inside this cave that's been bothering me?

Even though I couldn't sense anything, I somehow could feel that something wasn't right.

*Rustle*

The moment I heard a rustling noise, I turned my head from where the sound came from.

[ Chloe. ] ( Hatsuko )

I called out her name in order to notify her about the sound I just heard.

[ I know! ] ( Chloe )

She didn't need any explanation. She already knew what she had to do.

The rustling sounds came from a rock half my size near the right side of this cave.

I slowly approached that rock as I tried not to make any sudden movements. And the moment I looked behind the rock, I saw two young girls who were hugging each other. One of them had long blonde hair, while the other one had long pitch-black hair. Both of them looked like they were around 13 years old, and their appearances looked similar.

Are they twins?

And what are those girls doing in a place like this?

[ Did you find something? ] ( Chloe )

She asked as she came near me.

[ Yeah. ] ( Hatsuko )

Both of those girls weren't saying anything. They were looking at me as they kept hugging each other.

[ Huh... What are those little girls doing here? ] ( Chloe )

She asked the moment she saw those girls.

Chloe tried on checking if they were injured anywhere, but I stopped her from approaching them any further by placing my arm in front of her.

[ Hatsuko, they need help! Why are you stopping me? ] ( Chloe )

Of course, she'd react like this.

She is just too kind to everyone. But something still bothers me.

As I kept looking closer to those girls, I noticed something from behind their backs.

From the blonde-haired girl's back, I noticed some white winges with big feathers while the other girl had similar wings, but the colour this time was black.

[ Chloe!! Stay back!! ] ( Hatsuko )

I grabbed Chloe and pulled her back the moment I noticed their wings.

[ W-wah!!? Hatsuko, what happened?! ] ( Chloe )

She freaked out from my reaction.

[ Those girls are from the Angel and Demon race! ] ( Hatsuko )

I told her as I created another sword on my other hand.

[ Angel and Demon?! ] ( Chloe )

She said as she confirmed the wings on their back.

I already told Chloe about the legend of Angels and Demons who came back to this world. I also told her that they were the cause of the destruction that happened to our world.

So she already knows the real cause of this mess.

[ But even if they aren't human, they are still kids! ] ( Chloe )

She got in front of me, preventing me from killing them.

Why does she have to act like this?

[ They are the reason your parents were killed! They were the reason everyone back in the cave was brutally eaten alive! They are the reason why we are in this mess!

So why are you stopping me? ] ( Hatsuko )

I tried convincing her.

[ My parents choose to die by themselves! Everyone back at the cave died because I wasn't strong enough!

Even if they were the cause, I still blame myself for not being strong enough, so I don't think it's necessary to kill them. ] ( Chloe )

That determined look on her face. She won't change her mind no matter what. But I still can't trust those things.

She replied as she was in the same position with her arms open in order to stop me from hurting them.

[ One. Don't make contact with them for too long.

Two. If I see any suspicious movements from them, I'm killing them with no second thoughts.

Three. If you feel weird, please tell me as soon as possible.

If she can't agree to those rules, then I won't allow Chloe to get close to any of those things!
