《Once in a Blue Sun》1. Opening Salvo

The alarm rang and Kevin woke up. It was exceptionally and unusually loud. The ray of light on his face felt scorchingly hot, and he wondered what the fuck just happened.
“It’s a fucking Saturday and I’m not working-”
He rubbed his eyes, and tried to wave away a strange bluish light that seemed to shine right in his face. But after a while, he opened his eyes and saw a blue floating screen.
[Kevin. The bomb’s under your bed. Dispose of it within a week, or suffer the consequences.]
“What the fish-” Kevin jumped and immediately looked under his bed. Frankly he didn’t know why either.
There was a gigantic cockroach-beetle creature, and there was a glowing bomb on it’s back. Honestly, it resembled more like a crystal with a greenish light.
“Holy flying-” The cockroach ran towards him, and immediately latched onto his leg. It was huge, and his lower calves felt the football-sized bomb-bug’s legs wrap around his arm. The legs penetrated his skin, and it hurt as hell. “FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!”
[The bomb has successful bound to you. To dispose it, find a bomb-defuser. You may look for someone with a glowing spanner on their head. The nearest one is located in the city]
“FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK!” Kevin frantically tried to pull the bomb and remove the bomb, but it was somehow fused to his leg. He didn’t want to chop off his leg. He looked around. “THIS IS NOT FUNNY GUYS. IS ANYONE HERE PLAYING A PRANK ON ME?”
Silence. There was no one in his room, and so, with a bomb strapped onto his leg, he looked outside.
Everything looked blue, and as he looked up at the sky, the sky was exceptionally blue.
The sun was blue, too. He immediately shuffled around the room and looked for his phone. It was flooded with messages, and he saw a string of notifications from the news channels, but he focused on the one from his best friend, Sam.

Sam : Hi Kevin, you alright? Everyone’s been getting all these weird blue boxes this morning. Mine’s to find a silver shovel. What’s yours?
“Holy-” Kevin’s brain jammed for a moment.
He looked at his leg. Kevin swore the cockroach looked perfectly content latching itself to his leg. “You! Don’t look so smug, hugging my leg like that.”
The cockroach chittered.
“Uh. Okay. Do you mind letting go of my leg?”
The cockroach chittered, it sounded like a refusal.
“Fuck.”
Kevin: Hey Sam. I’ve got a bug that’s a bomb on my leg and I got to get rid of it in a week.
Sam : Shit. Let’s meet in the city. I bet that’s what everyone’s doing.
He decided to check the news instead.
“Reports of blue screens appearing before people worldwide. Authorities are investigating.”
Kevin snorted. As if the authorities ever get anything done-
His house shook, and as he looked out, he saw the opposite house had somehow exploded.
[Complete the mission, or face the consequences.]
“Look, Mr Blue Screen of Death.” Kevin shouted. “You can’t just waltz into our lives and tell us to solve missions without telling us anything. I need data. I need information. Look, if our life is a game, you gotta give us a tutorial.”
[Submitting feedback... Management has responded that your request for a tutorial was denied.]
“Fuck you. Fuck the management.”
The cockroach on his leg chittered in glee.
“And fuck you too.”

The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.

Gobbo
Its not easy being green. Or any other color. Life's just kinda shit in general. At least it is for a goblin trying to survive on their own. I'll admit I've burned a few bridges, but in my defense, they were oh so flammable, and burned beautifuly. At any rate, I'm an exile now, scraping by in human lands, where pitchforks and torches are always just around the corner. I'd look for a better life, but I've got my hands full just staying alive when any random asshole could turn out to be a retired adventurer strong enough to hold ten bulls above their head with one hand tied behind their back. How did they pull that bullshit anyway?

My Hundredth Life
I was an ordinary guy, living an ordinary life, until it happened. What we came to call the "Reality Break". Monsters started spawning in the streets, Mana flowed through our veins, Skills and Abilities were unlocked, and everyone had a Status Screen. I was living my dream, an RPG apocalypse! Until I died, that is. And woke up in a new world...where I died again. And again. With each death, a new incarnation, a new game world, and new scars upon my soul. Now, at my 99th death, I just wish it would end...but unlike in some of the worlds I have "played" in, this time my wish is not granted. *** Author's Note: This is my first 'serious' attempt at writing a story. I am hoping to turn ths into a series that I can publish to Amazon, but my life is a bit hectic right now, so I can't make any guarantees. However, I have serious reasons for writing at this point in my life, so I will do my best to provide this new twist to the LitRPG genre and keep it up for as long as possible. Thank you, to anyone who reads this. *Also, tags might change depending on how the story goes, there may be mild profanity or mild sexual content, but I have not decided yet.
