Vast meadow in the middle of Amstell Continent
0830, 2 April 2008
An old man, a young man, and a little girl, the three of them stood under a sky clear of clouds.
The girl looked around her with sparkling eyes. Previously she had to pass through snowfields and dark small alleys, so naturally her mind was now filled with questions.
"Grandpa, what is this place?"
The old man knelt in front of his granddaughter before replied softly, "The locals call this place Amstell Continent."
". . . Amstell Continent?"
The girl tilted her head while her grandfather continued.
“Eight years ago Grandma discovered this place by accident. Unfortunately, this is also where Grandma died. So, will you help Grandpa guard Grandma's final resting place?”
The girl firmly answered, "Claire will guard this place with all her might."
The old man then turned to the young man beside him. "O'Neil, you know I and Samantha treat you like our own children, and we know you decided to enter the military because you didn't want to compete with Robert in managing the corporation we left behind, even though your talent for doing business was much better.
But at least, promise me that you will help Claire protect this place, because once Nouel's existence is discovered, the whole world will fight over this place."
"Consider it done."
The young man replied casually, but the Old Man immediately smiled because he knew that his adopted son had never denied the words he said.

After gulping down a large piece of waffle, Claire looked at the Marketing Director Slane.
"TF Amethyst will bring sufficient military strength, but I've decided the front line of TF Amethyst's defense is economic power. So, how confident are you, Director Slane?"

Marketing Director Slane casually replied, "In two years I will control Amstell Continent's economy.
After that, no local authorities will disturb TF Amethyst and we can start collecting natural resources other than Nouel, without the need to deploy military force."
Claire smiled in satisfaction. "Good, you'll lead the trading wing of TF Amethyst, as well as hold the third highest position."
"I don't mind leading the trading wing of TF Amethyst, but don't give me a flashy position. I don't want to be a High Value Target."
"Are you sure?"
"Absolutely."
"I'll arrange it according to your wish then."

In the cabin of CH-47J Chinook, Vex studied the technical data regarding Nouel. Plants that are similar to barley, very easy to grow, and can produce 2-3 harvests in a year.
Nouel grains could be processed into dry biogas or liquid biogas, with a chemical structure similar to natural gas but having greater efficiency and combustion potential, as well as being more environmentally friendly.
Vex put down the document in his hand before turning to Gen. O'Neil. "Nouel has economic value above petroleum and natural gas. There is also a potential giant consumer named US of A. So, are you sure we won't use military means as a shortcut?"
Gen. O'Neil nodded three times. "If military power were the primary means of TF Amethyst, I wouldn't recruit you as an XO, but a trigger happy idiot."
Vex pondered for a while before saying, "Well, I know how to build ground and air assets and help you operate them. But I'm blind to navy assets."
Gen. O'Neil replied casually, "Don't worry, someone is already taking care of the planning for Amphibious Strike Group. Besides, for the first two years we'll just be sitting around on Amstell Continent."

"Understood."
Vex then leaned his head before closing his eyes.

Author's note:
In 2004, a member of Jesuit Refugee Service gave me a book 'Say You're One of Them' by Uwen Akpan, a Jesuit from Nigeria.
The five short stories and novellas in the book give voice to an African child growing up in the face of incredible adversity.
As a real example, how in many conflicts, children managed to survive while their parents and families were killed. The journey of living hell for these children then begins. Rape, abuse, torture, and other savagery were repeatedly inflicted on these poor children by animals in human clothes.
To this day, the impression I get from the book is still very strong. Sometimes, it makes me imagine a world where these children will find sanctuary.
Until finally, last year I braced myself to pour my imagination into this book, with the hope that people who read it would be moved to care more about the unfortunate children in this world, whose number continues to grow until now.
Thank you.

The Trespasser
Synopsis Following his di—instincts, David finds himself in a weird situation; the next thing he knows, he's in a different world, dying, and manhandled by a big-ass alien. When the Source comes to his aid, granting him the access that—like every other sapient—he's due, David barely manages to get out of the fight with his life intact, but is that enough? Of course it isn't. The very Source giving him powers is also poisoning him to death. Oh, there she is, the petite female alien. Will that be enough to save him? Of course it won't. If he wants to be saved, he has first to save himself. The only way to do so is by getting to know the world around him, but even before that... Why the bloody hell did I have to be called Deviant!? *** Blurb? Blurb. The Trespasser starts slowly, I believe I've written a decent world, and I want you to find out what it's all about, won't just throw it in your face because of *levels*. I do not like stories that don't make sense. David is not a murderhobo, he respects life and answers to the world and the weird situations thrown at him with irony and sarcasm; so you are looking for easy killing streaks, you will not find them here. So, a man finds himself into the wild? It's a different world, and yet he can breathe its air? Finds himself in a lucky-low-level zone? Oh, look at that, people speak English—how likely is that? So, nope, not for me, gentleman. You won't find anything of the likes here. Again, a man finds himself in a new world but only thinks about the system? Yeah, that's not exactly how it works. David will try to find out what it's really all about, what the aliens want, how they work, why is that Fay really helping him? You can kill somebody to get levels, and yet there is not even a form of police? Not gonna happen here. Man becomes suddenly overpowered in a world where people can live for thousands of years by having enough luck to face only lower-level people? Hahaha—nope. Lastly...Spaceships and fantasy with LitRPG... say what!? Well, what's wrong with that? Let's make it happen, shall we? *** You want even more info? Really? Alright... David will start from the very bottom of the food chain, so there will be a settling arc—it's inevitable. David will find true companions, with personalities and backstories, and they will have a life of their own. There will be enemies, and those enemies will have a life of their own, too; there will be no evil just because. The world-building will have true depth; it will not exist just because the protagonist visits it. There will be both Fantasy and (Soft) Sci-fi—yeah, you heard that right. There will be rationality to every action taken, as long as the characters are aware of what is going on. There will be a godly system. You will come to read because of the world-building, but you will stay for the characters. The dead stay dead, and you will weep for them. There will be no action without a reaction. Lastly, there will be laughs. Are you still up for it? Then get in but fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be a wild ride. *** Release Days: Twice a week Release Time: ~09:00 PM UTC Words per chapter: ~3000 This web novel is also available on other platforms.

Nameless Hypocrite
"Bastard, surrender yourself!" "You think you can escape our encirclement?!" "An omnicidal fiend like you can only atone in death!" Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions." The expressions of the surrounding heroes turned ugly. Such blatant hypocrisy! Yes, the protagonist is a villain. We don't do morals here. New chaps when I write them
