Omake 34: Divine Singularity (3)
“And that’s… why they know about you.”
I took a moment to nod at the sheepish-looking orangette that had just finished explaining me why the two child Servants seemed to know about me.
I’ve met them in alternative timelines- or at least my counterparts in these timelines did. It was surprising to learn that something like this was actually possible. That there were ‘mirror’/similar timelines which saw this kind of changes happening so suddenly and seemingly without any major explanation. Gudako seemed to have gained this insight by checking with Da Vinci-chan, the Caster having verified through the Saint Graph that there were indeed some ‘connections’ to me. I lacked a Graph due to the fact I wasn’t really a Servant, but I didn’t exclude the chance that, through the infinity of the Nasuverse Gacha possibility, I was going to be part of it someone together with others.
Thinking about the endless Servants which could potentially come out of this entire scenario made for an interesting pass time before I found myself once more ‘drowned’ into children’s giggles. Because while Gudao managed to avoid any issues by pulling both Jack and Abigail off from me, the young man did nothing to prevent their numbers to suddenly increase exponentially. Together with the two girls that I had the opportunity to briefly met, I was soon ‘assaulted’ by a ‘younger’ Jeanne D’Arc Alter taking the mantle of a Santa Lily, Nursery Rhyme and ‘smaller’ Paul Bunyan. It was indeed overwhelming at first, and both Jack and Abby looked a bit upset as they understood I wasn’t the Dio that they had befriended in their timelines, but they felt better when I promised them that I would have tried to still ‘reconnect’ somehow. It was way tougher than it sounded, but I managed to somewhat gain a balance in trying to make these kids happy and not murdery of little old me.

Jack was the most trusting. I could say that her Dio, which had her call me ‘Big Brother’, had been around her a lot and thus made her less into ‘stabbing into a belly and go back to her mommy’s womb’. It was as crazy as it sounded, but it wasn’t there. I landed with a sweeter and friendlier Jack. Abby was a little less trusting due to the situation, but she still gave me the benefit of the doubt and I was getting through her. The rest was made by Servants that didn’t have the chance of meeting me and I had to work a bit to get them on friendly manners. At least. Out of all of them, one stubborn girl stood between that full completion. A certain little Santa wanted a reserve reindeer, with Gudao working as the main traction force of her chariot. I joked that I wouldn’t have been much of a help as a Reindeer, but I could carry her around with ease and at high pace. She dared me to prove that was better and… so I did. A few people turned their heads as I ran around at high speed with a giggling girl getting the piggy-back treatment while we looked over the cafeteria. Little Jeanne was elated by this discovery and approved me as her ‘bestest friend possible’. Kind of amusing in its own way when she mentioned that it was higher than ‘Big Sis Jeanne’ and got the aforementioned blonde staring viciously at me due to this circumstance.
And all of this while also taking some breaks to check on the rest of the team and making sure they were doing alright. Bloody was the most awed by the cast of heroes present in this single place, but also surprised that some had such a flamboyant outlook. Speedwagon looked to be at ease around Jonathan, and was surprised to learn that he had taken care of Joseph during his early years. Derek was… not at ease around Jotaro and Polnareff. I could tell why, but I couldn’t tell him why. Kate and Zephy exchanged a few conversations with characters she had heard about and that were from her own country, with Okita and Nobunaga instantly latching at a fellow Japanese warrior with and unique backstory and possible ‘future’ from what Da Vinci-chan suggested.

All in all, things were going quite well as Da Vinci-chan finished her analysis to find the best place to start getting this singularity fixed for good. I didn’t know what was going on with the mud tearing apart the ‘mirror timeline’ we ended up in, but I could already tell that ‘Dio Alter’ was planning to do something beyond just storming the world in mud. It didn’t make much sense beyond the chances of him ‘molding the clay to his will’. A world deviated by his depraved mind.
Just as I was about to go and check with Bloody as he had gone to talk with Alexander and Kid-Gil, I was surprised when I noticed that something odd was moving through the crowd of Servants, ignored by those around it as it trailed right behind an… unsuspecting Bloody? The teen hadn’t noticed the lurking entity from the looks of it and… to be fair, I couldn’t perceive it through Hamon which made me particularly more nervous about it. At first I thought it was just a Angra Mainyu or something of that kind, and that it wasn’t outright chasing Bloody. But as I thought of this, I saw it form a couple of tendrils which extended and carefully prepared to slam onto the distracted blond, blades forming all over those to add more danger to those. It was in that moment that I saw many Servants actually tense up and notice the situation- and I knew I had to act.
Gudako was the closest to intervene, and she put herself between Bloody and the creature, using one of her Command Seals in an effort to… stop it? That was actually a Servant that she had summoned. With my early assumptions that it was the classic Avenger out of the window, I was clueless about what I was looking at.
“H-He – He is- like him~!” It replied, and its voice made me burst in a moment of fury. I approached it as it had been stopped just barely by the command, my eyes narrowed dangerously at it before briefly checking on Bloody.
“Are you alright?”
“Y-yeah. Wh-What is that?”
I gritted my teeth behind my lips, restraining an answer as I knew that it was best for this matter to be solved by my and just me. Gudako, while holding a brave front, was still shivering before the grotesque entity, the pressure exerted by it making it difficult for her to hold a stronger attitude but it all soon changed when its attention was redirected onto me. I just spoke, letting out a single but clear word that awoke in it a sense of realization and… ‘glee’.
“Jack...” I muttered, anger dripping from my quiet voice as I recognized that voice despite the distortion.
The abnormal mass of mud grinned as it snapped its attention at me, aiming the countless blades right in my general direction. Ready to battle, breaking through the limits of the Command Seal and forcing Hassan of Serenity to move in and take the orangette Master out of the way as she realized that the monster was almost freed from its temporary restraint. It quivered and it giggled dementedly as I prepared my Stand, my Hamon and Spin at a fight which was caused by the fusion of Jack the Ripper and… Thanatos, the God of Death.
“D-D-DIO~!”
It’s been a while, you bastard.

MAZE - The Endless Quest
As all kids do, Hera wanted to be an explorer. Sadly when she turned 18, she discovered that her stats and lack of skills made her fail the requirements to become one, and she went to work on a bookstore. That should have been the end of her story. But when she wins a lottery to have her level up, she discovers a hidden skill and a rare one at that. The system gave her dream back, and this time she is not letting it go. ############################## The story is about a world where game-like systems are the norm. Everyone has a level, status, and even skills are a common thing. If your stats are good, you can also become an explorer, someone that ventures inside a place called MAZE, a dungeon of sorts filled with monsters, creatures, and things that the natural world is missing, such as magic and demi-humans. The story follows Hera, a woman who wanted to be an explorer, but her status were too low to become one. One day she wins a raffle that allows her to level up for the first time giving her the chance to achieve her childhood dream. It's more about how things work and what you can do with them than about power or revenge. The rhythm might be a bit slow for some, but that is the idea. I want to give sort of a slice of life feeling to most of it.
