《Tales Of The Dark Mage: New Moon| Part I》Chapter 41 The Morning Before The Match

Valencia: So, what now? Sora: Well, I guess, join us. Deshon: I still think you should tell her; she deserves to know the truth. Back me up on this one, Valencia.
Valencia: She's probably thinking about it right now. If I had to guess her mindset right now, it would be, Sora is back and better; her mind went back to the situation when you left with her. I don’t have to say the rest. Sophia’s mind will be thinking about every position possible. Deshon: So you agree with me. Instead of thinking about every possibility, it’s better to tell the truth, to ease her mind. Valencia: Well, I didn't say that. Just keep it from her.
Justin: If she doesn't know the truth, it can't hurt her. Deshon: That isn't very good right there. If I had a girl that loves me to death, I would tell her the truth about everything, and I would do everything right by her. Justin: I have one word for people like you, Deshon, that is simp! Deshon: Shut the hell up; I'm just a great romantic partner. Valdis: You guys are hilarious, with all the ludicrous answers to the situation. Sora: So, what's your genius answer? Valdis: Distract her from the truth, and make her put all of her efforts into school life. That's all you have to do.
Sora: I guess that plan can work. Valencia: That could work out. But that means you have to throw yourself into school life as well. Sora: I can do that as well. Valdis: I think we should call it a night. We have a match at noon tomorrow. Blue, I need you to get as much rest as possible. We need you fresh because this match will set a statement for the whole school. That goes for everyone else as well. Sora: Have a good night, guys.
I left the room and went to my room. And talked to Sophia some more and went to sleep. I woke up at three in the morning, met up with Valencia in the kitchen.
Valencia: Why are you up at this hour? Sora: Couldn't sleep, and I could ask you the same thing. Valencia: I usually go to the training facility to train without disturbing the whole peanut gallery if I'd trained right outside. Sora: What about Naomi? Someone has to watch her while you're gone. Valencia: She sleeps the night away; she doesn't wake up until seven. Sora: Can I see her? I would love to see Naomi. Valencia: Not yet; once we win, you can see her as much as you want. Sora: Now, I have even more of a reason to do great. You said you were about to train in that big ass training facility. Do you mind if I join you? I could learn something from you.

Valencia: Sure, why not. I could learn something new from you as well. I will teach you my step technique. Sora: Step technique? What the hell is that?! Valencia: It's a speed-boosting technique that doesn't require any magic, but it is physically demanding from each step. Once we get there, I will show you better. I can tell you.
Nine hours had passed; Valencia and I trained from three in the morning until six in the morning. We came back home and went our separate ways. I took a shower and prepared breakfast for everyone.
Sora: I need everyone to eat up. We have a big match today. Valdis: These pancakes you made are divine, no question. Deshon: What you put in these pancakes? Because these pancakes are immaculate. Sora: Nothing special, really; I just used the ingredients that we currently have. I usually would order ingredients or get them from the garden back in London. So this was an average performance for me. Deshon: What else can you cook? Sora: I can cook gourmet food and other sorts of stuff. Justin: When and where did you learn this?
Sora: Back in London, as Sophia’s bodyguard, it's required from me to at least do this. And luckily I had a knack for the kitchen. Sophia is very particular in what she consumes at home. If I don't cook it or help out the other seven world classed chefs, she's very hesitant about eating it. Valdis: It's settled. You're our official chef.
Deshon: How many times you prepared food on a typical day? Sora: So there's breakfast, brunch, lunch, snack time, dinner, then dessert. Sophia has quite an appetite; I usually prepare all of her food by five in the morning. So I can attend right by her side all day long. Deshon: So what did you guys do all day back in London? Sora: Well, we have a master that teaches us all about mage stuff for four hours, and we study about 2 hours then train together for three hours. Next, we study up all the languages that we know so we can prepare.

Furthermore, we watch anime and play games until dinner. Then I received my late night instruction about bodyguard stuff. Then train by myself until I have to prepare Sophia’s food. And that's the daily cycle. Deshon: When do you sleep!? Sora: I don't sleep because I can't sleep because there's always something to do?
Deshon: That's impossible! You must be micro sleeping! Sora: Not even that. Deshon: All sonologists will agree that you need eight hours of sleep. Valdis: You can use your mana to replenish all your needs. And I heard that people that use real dark magic don't sleep at all, not because they can't; it's a choice. Sora: Correct on all counts, Valdis. If you make you feel better, I got plenty of rest when I was gone. Peyton: What else are you good at? Sora: Well, I help her majesty solve murders and create new medical equipment and medicines. De’Niro: That's amazing; what languages do you speak other than English?!
Sora: I speak Espanol, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Greek, Japanese. I'm pretty fluent in those languages. Deshon: Damn seven other languages!? I want to believe you, but I don't. Zoey: Well, believe it then, because royals have to learn at least ten different languages. I speak fourteen other languages. Peyton: If you're a part of the Maina Squad, you have to learn thirteen different languages. Sora: Sophia is a talented one. She speaks way more languages than me.
Deshon: Why? Sophia: Because my family speaks four primary languages. English, Espanol, French, Italian. What other languages you can say that Sora hasn't named. Sophia: Sora can speak the other languages I speak. He hasn't mastered them yet, so he doesn't mention them. Sora: I can hold a basic conversation in most of the languages she speaks because she forces me to learn them.
Sophia: I can speak Portuguese, Dutch, Finnish, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Mandarin, Arabic, Turkish, Korean, Hindi, Norwegian. De’Niro: How can you speak so many languages? Sophia: Well, elite mages have a superb easy time learning other languages. It takes an elite mage to be fluent in a new language in about two months or less.
Justin: Why do they have less time to learn a new language? Sophia: It's believed that the more mana you have, the more information you can process. More mana means quicker the learner in simpler terms. Deshon: I wish I were a quick learner. You know nineteen languages that's just crazy as hell. Sophia: It's not impossible; one person learned fifty-nine languages. Zoey: Sophia, what new language are you learning? Sophia: None right now, because I don't have to. But if I had to pick a new language, it would be Romanian.
Deshon: Valdis, what languages do you speak? Valdis: Spanish, Norwegian, Dutch. I just did the four language requirement to get into the school. And those languages are the easiest to speak for English speakers. Deshon: What about you, Valencia? Valencia: I speak Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Arabic. Deshon: How about you, Peyton? Peyton: I speak all the same languages as Sophia. But I can speak Romanian, unlike her. Valdis: Alright, it's time to go. Finish your food, and we’re out in ten. Sora: I guess I can start cleaning up. Anyone wants seconds; I'm going to leave leftovers on the plate. Deshon: Slide that over here, my chef!

Dark Winter
It is always darkest before the dawn. After the divorce, Katie Fox was forced to live with her mother in New York after the judge ruled that her father, a former Army Ranger, wasn’t stable enough. They called him ‘that crazy bunker guy’ or ‘that paranoid freak.’ Whatever they called him, Christopher Fox was a Prepper. He taught those willing to listen how to survive in a catastrophe and how to prepare for the end of the world. More than that though, he was her father and she would rather spend her life in his underground bunker than another minute in that New York highrise. So, she ran away. The date is November 28th, Black Friday and hell has been unleashed on the world. A freak storm mixes with a deadly virus that turns its victims into mindless hunters of flesh. Katie will have to use everything her father taught her to survive and reach the safety of his underground bunker. Note from the author: Thanks for stopping by! The plan is to upload a chapter every Saturday or Sunday (as my schedule allows). Hope you enjoy the story!
