《Tales Of The Dark Mage: New Moon| Part I》Chapter 48: Gameday Part VII

D.H: Wow, that is some delightful news! I know you basically said it but are you two engaged? Sora: Yes, we're betrothed. Also, Queen Lizabeth is allowing us to get married early at the age of sixteen. Ryder & Ruby are in disbelief. Maina & Sapphire have a stone-cold acknowledgment to the reveal. D.H is even further meshed into the conversation. D.H: Do you two have a wedding date, or are you guys still planning stuff?! Sophia: Yes, it's on our birthday, December seventh, so approximately three years.
D.H: Y'all two were destined to be together, you two have the same birthday! But anyway, I hope the wedding and everything goes great! It looks like the family they're hearing this for the first time. Maina? What are your initial thoughts about this? Maina: Well, I think everyone in the world can tell that I was startled about the shocking news. I don't know what to say about this. But I will tell you this, I will keep a closer eye on this engagement. Right now, I won't say I will give my blessing to their marriage; I have to know if Sophia Accordia is the best fit for my son. But at the end of the day, if they want to get married so badly, I cannot stop that.
Sophia: I hope one day, I can have your blessing to marry your son. Maina: As it stands right now, Sophia, I straight up don't know if you're the absolutely perfect fit for my son. And anyway, you do not need my blessing; this is just my silly, insignificant
D.H: What a fascinating answer. Ryder, talk to me. How are you taking the news? Ryder: It's kinda strange to me that my little brother is already engaged before me. But I'm happy for Sora. They're pretty entertaining; why not have them together? D.H: I unquestionably concur with you, Ryder. Sapphire, what are your thoughts at the moment? We would like to know? Sapphire: Umm, Ruby, can I be honest? Ruby gave Sapphire the thumbs up and yelled, go for it. Sapphire: Sophia, I don't know you personally, so don't take this to heart. Sophia gave the gesture to go ahead.
Sapphire: I prefer Sora to be with Valencia instead of you. It's a more suitable choice for my brother. Since you know what transpired. Sophia started to ponder anxiously. D.H: Is this the same Valencia we usually hear about. The one that went to the Twilight Tigers?! Sapphire: Yes, D.H. And Sophia knows why I'm saying this. It would be convenient for the current situation at hand. Don't you think, so Sophia? Sophia takes a deep breath and exhales. She'd leaned forward in her chair and gazed directly at Sapphire with a determined gaze, although having this uneasy expression on her.

Sophia: I ideally apprehend the circumstance currently. I concede it would be convenient for the Hestia family to accept Valencia rather than me. But permit me to prove myself, to be accepted into the family. Sapphire made the calm down gesture. Sapphire: I'm so sorry; I believe you misunderstood me! I'm not saying you're not worthy or anything! Like I said, don't take this to heart. It's just I would rather have Valencia be my sister because of her history with us. You would fit right in with us. It's just a preference since I don't know you like that. Sophia's expression went from a worried expression to a relieved expression. She began to sit back and relax in the chair.
D.H: What an answer! Ruby, do you have any thoughts on the matter? Ruby: Well, I do. I will keep this short and sweet, and we can move on to the next topic. Sora can marry whoever he wants to marry. I'm just exhilarated seeing Sora. I support his decision on whatever he does. That being said, I would prefer Valencia, due to our new roles. Alright, let's move on to the next topic. Man, that was like the longest four minutes ever!!! I can't wait to see the match!
D.H: So the consensus is that everyone approves of the marriage to a certain degree. And Ruby, I couldn't agree with you more. This match is going to be exciting! The next thing to discuss. Sora, your fam saw bits and pieces of your press conference earlier this morning. My siblings shot me with this subtle, sly look. Sora: Oh, did they now? D.H: Is what you said true about defeating the CLMC? Sora: Well, of course! Ryder is looking around like a madman. And looks at me & laughs at me in disbelief.
Ryder: I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but how in the world is your club going to beat a club that won it four times in a row!? And this is the best team in club history! Do you really think you can beat twenty royal mages on a team?! And every single mage is part of the WMA. Sora: Are you done?! Ryder: One more thing, do you really think you can beat the three of us?! Sora: It doesn't matter how many people you get. It doesn't matter how many royals you have. The only thing that matters at the end of the day, who reigns victorious.
Ryder got out of his chair and started laughing all over the place; Sapphire remained stoic and didn't even bat an eye; also, Ruby let out a burst of intense, hearty hilarity while hugging her sides. Maina has duper's delight written all over her expression. D.H is looking in awe of the current events.

Ruby: Sora, stop it; you're killing me!!! Sapphire: It's wholly absurd that a group of ten members think they can beat the reigning champs. On another note, maybe we shouldn't take Sora's words so lightly. Ryder: Do you know how many times we hear other clubs saying we're going to beat you and become the new champs?! Sapphire: I just go deaf to their words every time someone talks about dethroning us. Ruby: We had to hear that nonsense over six hundred times at least!
Maina: Sapphire is right; you shouldn't take Sora lightly. Their team may only be ten members, but I wouldn't straight out discredit them from the running. Hell, I would even say even less than that. There are actually only six capable people in the club. Ryder went back to his seat and scoffed at Maina's comment. Ruby changed her mood rapidly. You can just tell how her joyful expression became a phlegmatic expression.
Maina: Then you wouldn't mind hearing it. Twilight Tigers' lack of quantity for members is concerning, but what they lack in numbers, they make up with great talent, especially their first years and the addition of Zoey and Peyton. Ryder: I'm not going to discredit the six talented mages that they have. These six should be on the CLMC. Maina: Then don't underestimate your future opponents. We will see the match-up on Valentine's. Oh, D.H, we are pressing on time, so follow it up with the remaining two questions, then we can send them back, and we can watch the games begin. D.H regained his focus by relaxing back in his chair and took a deep breath.
D.H: Oh, thank you for that. I was so into the fascinating conversation! We know what Sophia's magic types are, but we don't know all of yours officially to the public. So, what types of magic can you use? It's rumored that you can use every type of magic? Sora: Well, I wouldn't say every type of magic because there's always new magic that appears every once in a while, or some lost magic is rediscovered. But I can use Crimson Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Chaos, Earth, Lightning, Light, and other types of magic. I can't just give away my whole arsenal. People have to watch me fight. D.H: Okay, I like that answer! Making the people watch. So, Ryder, does this make Sora harder to strategize against?
Ryder: Well, yes, at the current moment. It's always challenging when you go against mages that can use multiple types of magic, but once I learn what they like to do in battle, I'll just turn their biggest strength into a liability. Sapphire: It doesn't always work in a one v one. Raw talent can be tricky to deal with in specific types of settings. Ruby: Well, not for us! Sapphire: Of course you would say that.
D.H: I think this is the perfect segway for the next question of discussion. Maina, who is the strongest out of your kids?! Maina: Let me break this down real quick. Ryder has speed and a brilliant mind but lacks offensive capabilities and is somewhat lacking on the defensive side. Also lacks physical strength like the others.
For Sapphire, she's very gifted with destructive spells, and she can use like nine spells at once in an instant, which is very insane. The only weakness is herself; she has to keep growing as a mage, but there are no vital flaws.
Ryder and Sapphire didn't even bat an eye at Maina's statements about them.
Maina: For Ruby, She is almost as physically strong as me. Ruby's defensive magic is basically equal to mine. But she does lack long-range offensive spells when compared to Sapphire and Ryder, and now Sora. But she's very durable; she can fight for days if she manages her stamina and mana well. Ruby celebrated in silence while giving Sapphire and Ryder that smug look. Maina: Well, for Sora, he has it all. Has potent offensive spells like Sapphire and me. His defensive spells and durability are on par with Ruby and mine. His speed is on par with Ryder and mine. And has a profound intelligence, his teacher Benson has shown me so much data. And his perfect score, along with Sophia's Accordia perfect score on the written entrance exam. Ryder used to hold the highest score ever recorded of eighty-nine percent. But that record has been shattered.
D.H: Are you saying that Sora is the strongest!? Maina: No, but actually yes. There's one thing he lacks is experience. So I can't give you a definite answer to your question. But if you ask me in two years, I would say absolutely if he continues his training and learns from every battle. D.H: The next god of mages is still undecided then. Maina: Yes, that is correct. D.H: What do you have to say to Sora? Sora: Well, I have no interest in having the god of mage's title.
