《Tales Of The Dark Mage: New Moon| Part I》Gameday Part X

Sophia and I dispelled our stone pillars. We stepped down from STP. Valdis created his swirling space gray spatial portal right next to us. We went through it, and we're here with everyone inside of the skybox. Benson started applauding us, and then the rest joined in with him. Zoey: I legit looked at my phone for a few seconds, and the match was about to be over! Deshon: I didn't even see y'all move an inch! Until I saw the stone pillars!
Sophia and I hunkered down on the couch. My legs are super heavy. I just want to lay down for the entire day! Deshon: How in the hell yall move that damn fast!? Justin: Moron. Deshon: What did you say, you damn stick!? Deshon grabbed Justin by the collar, Justin was about to unsheathe his sword, but De'Niro separated the both of them by getting in the middle of them. Peyton: Now is not the time! You two can play later!
Deshon: But Peyton! Peyton got up from her chair at the bar and slapped Deshon, then sat back down in her seat. Deshon touched his face and threw up his hands. Peyton: Hush! Justin burst out laughing; Peyton delivered him a malicious stare, Justin promptly ceased laughing. Zoey: There's an unwritten rule. Never fool around during a game unless you'd played today. If you were on the CLMC, Ryder would've kicked you out on sight. Justin: I call bull. Valencia: Not really, but our situation is quite different. If Ryder was here, there would be no joking around at all. Justin: I was mistaken. But what's really bullshit is that Deshon got an invite from the CLMC to join them!
Valdis: Enough already!!! It's strange they didn't announce intermission yet. Deshon: They don't have to announce it every single time. Valencia: Are you a complete dumbass?! Deshon: They didn't do it for the championship! Zoey: Oh, you poor thing! Deshon: What?! Zoey: Ryder gave him memory problems. The championship matches have the longest intermissions. Because the media and the school can milk the championship as long as possible. Deshon: Just leave me alone! I didn't know! Brianna: Of course you didn't know! You skipped the entire regular season and the playoffs! You kept running your fucking mouth like you were the god of mages! Deshon: I made a mistake; I should've trained. When we make it to the playoffs, I will be the strongest! Mark my words!
Everyone started laughing at Deshon. My exhausted self got up from the couch and placed my hand on Deshon's shoulder. And started back laughing right in Deshon's face. Sora: So you're going to be stronger than me?! Deshon: Absolutely! I sent you flying with my punch back in Germany! Sora: Oh, you talking about that! Well, I allowed you to do that! Deshon: Cap!!! Sora: Alright, do it again. Send me flying outside the skybox. Then I will believe you. Deshon collided, both of his fists together to make his golden gauntlets appear as they make a resounding clack! Deshon went to strike my midsection, but I didn't move one single inch.
Deshon: Lightning gauntlet magic: Total Destruction Strikes!!! His golden gauntlets were surrounded by lightning. Deshon went to strike my face this time, but I didn't budge, not even a little bit. Deshon was appalled to notice me not moving, not a single inch. Deshon went for another strike, but I halted it with my index finger. Deshon went for multiple quick jabs, but I blocked them all with my finger. He went for one last hopeless punch, but I grabbed his gauntlet and started squeezing it until I heard a metal clink; Deshon dropped down to his knees. I released his hand and sat back down. Deshon: How is this even possible?! I sent you back flying to a building in Germany!!!

Sophia: I have an answer for that. Sora likes dropping his defenses against people lower than him, or he wants a challenge. You have seen how monstrous his strength can be. Justin: That makes no sense! Sophia: What do you mean?! Justin: It doesn't make any sense, none of it does! Sophia: Alright, allow me to dumb it down for you! For example, reducing the electricity output for a city means fewer homes powered up. If Sora lowers the output of his magic, he will get less favorable results. Or he can increase the output of his magic and get a better result.
Justin: I guess it makes sense. Sophia: I have to ask, what is your GPA right now?! Justin: A three-point three! Sophia: Wow, an average student. That explains everything, really! We got an average B student! Justin: I'm sorry, my liege! Not all of us can be exceptional as you! I'm just an easygoing student that does his work. You won't be needing grades in the WMA. It's all about if you passed or not. Benson: Enough! You guys can argue all you want once today's match is over.
Valdis: This is weird! Did something happen?! They never take this long to announce intermission. Zoey: Did one of ya'll step out of bounds or something? Peyton: If that was the case, they would've said something by now. Deshon: Can't we discuss the three v three? Zoey: How will we review the three on three when we don't know who the mages will be!? Valdis: Remember the three on three were Ji Nagasaki, August Hachimura, and Viki Talman. But the three of them sustained critical injuries. Peyton: They're probably going to pick Cy Hun, Jack Tyson, and Fred Rodgers in the third year.

Toretto: Ladies and gentlemen, sorry for the unannounced delay! Our god of mages has an important message. Take it away, Lady Maina. Maina: Those of you that have been keeping up with the review committee. You know the discussion of going beyond the speed of light. The decision for this season was not to ban it. Because players will be too tired to use it. Going at that speed is pretty taxing. But what we saw a few minutes ago. An emergency meeting was assembled by the vice president of the review committee and the student president of the Rowan Academy Player Association.
As you know, I was against the ban of going beyond the speed of light. Because I hear a lot of feedback from our alma mater and current players and worldwide feedback. The general consensus is that the current rules are kinda too restrictive. We have these rules to protect mages. There's somewhat of a shortage of mages due to the ever growing criminal mage underworld. The casualties have shot up due to the one-year-old criminal mage organization The Reapers. The genocide that was committed in Nigeria and Germany. And the inclusive destruction of India. And with the complete take over of Russia's government, a lot of mages went and joined the Reapers.
And all of the things that are happening in the United States. So the ruling going beyond the speed of light has been made. Also, additional rules as well. We are banning going beyond the speed of light. It's just way too speedy and challenging to react and defend yourself. Brace yourself for this one. The following new rule is going the speed of light is now prohibited. The preponderance of players can't go that speed, and there's a large heap of players who can't even defend themselves at those speeds. And it's getting worse than this. There's a new speed limit rule; the max speed limit is seven million miles per hour.

But don't worry, the speed limit will only be enforced if the match is a lopsided one. And the Crimson Leones Mafia Club won't be affected by this rule due to the talent on that roster and their legacy status. Every single legacy club won't be affected by this rule. The Twilight Tigers are considered a fallen dynasty; therefore, this rule will affect them.
Now for these particular players. Lou Thomas, Ruby Hestia, Sapphire Hestia, and lastly, Sora Hestia. Lou Thomas, aka Hercules, will receive heavier clothing to limit them physically. Ruby Hestia will also receive heavier clothing. Sapphire Hestia will receive seven seals either right now or a month from now. Sora has a total of forty-eight seals; as of right now, he will get seventy-two additional seals. When I mean right now, I will go down there as soon as I finish.
The decision to extend the regular season will remain in discussion. But we should be able to come to a decision at a later date. The all-star championship will be hosted by the Crimson Leones Mafia Club. And finally, substances like Snowflake, Jade, and Spice have been banned. If you have any on you or have taken them. Tell your club president so they can make a record on it. So you won't get into big trouble. And that will be all.
Sora: What the hell?! That many seals for what!? Deshon: What is she talking about when she says seals? Zoey: Are you feeble-minded or dense? Deshon: I'm just asking a question! Peyton: All it is a restriction to how much power you can use. Deshon: So, Ryder, Sapphire Ruby all have seals on them? Peyton: Correct. Deshon: Seals aren't that bad then. Sora: Speak for yourself! Putting that many seals on me is going to be considerably troublesome for me.

Someone began knocking on the door. Valencia opened the door, Maina walked inside the room. Maina: Sora, you ready? Maina walks up to me. Sora: I'm not taking those seals! Maina: You have no choice. Maina attempted to grab my arm, but I swiped her hand away. Sora: If you think I'm going to allow you to put that many seals on me, then you're out of your freaking mind! Valdis: Lady Maina, if I may, Blue still needs to protect Sophia as her guard. Making him weaker would be terrible. Maina: If you think I'm going to sit here for seventy-two hours to put these damn seals on, then you got me messed up. Sophia: So, are you not going to put seals on him?
Maina: I am, but many of these seals will break anyway; because of how strong Sora is. The same thing happens with Sapphire and Ruby. I would like to put more seals on them, but it will be pointless. Benson: So you making these seals breakable? Maina: Not intentionally old friend. It's just that they're damn strong. All my children have a knack for breaking the seals that I place on them. My seals are meant to be broken when they master their powers. Ryder has the least amount of seals because he has the most mastery of his power. Valencia: Does Naomi have seals on her? Maina: Yep, my mother did her seals for her own safety. The seals will slowly go away when she ages up, so don't worry.
Sora: Let's get this over with! Go ahead, do it! Maina: Alright. Maina put her hand at the center of my back then I abruptly blacked out. I woke up on the sofa, and it felt like my head was on someone's lap. I looked up, and it was Zea. But there are some things different about her. Like her eyes are a darker green than before. Her hairstyle changed as well; she put in a french braid bun. Her snow-white hair is even brighter. Was she about to go to bed? She's in a white robe.

Zea: Why hello there, sleepyhead. Zea began petting me on the head. I rose up from her lap. I glanced around, and everyone stood frozen in time.
Sora: Hi, umm. Why are you here? (Asked Joyfully) Zea: Well, I was watching the match back in Russia in bed. When you started to beat the soul out of Ji Nagasaki. I had to come in person! Sora: How were you not detected by Maina or someone? Zea: I thought I already told you. If I don't want to be detected, I mask myself with Electra's mana, or I just use the Reaper version of supprimere. Sora: When Ji used his "Doomsday" spell, you shielded me from the attack; why? Zea: I just desired to see the look on Ji's face. That look of despair was priceless when his trump card was useless! But I'm kinda upset that you didn't kill him! (Playfully laughing)
Sora: Killing him would've been too damn easy; I want him to suffer! Zea: Alright, but the next time he doesn't yield, take his life for me. Sora: You really do hate that slave owner. Zea: True, but he's outside of my top twenty royals that I need to kill. If he was any higher on my list, I would've killed him myself. But I know you have to try to prevent me from killing them since it's part of your job as the vice-captain of the royal guard.
Sora: I wouldn't even waste my energy with that. I'm exclusively concerned about protecting one royal, and that's my priority. But why are you really here? You could've seen me any other time. Zea: Well, I do have some business here. For starters, Queen Liz is right outside the door, and I need to speak with her and don't worry; I won't bring any harm to her unless somehow she forces my hand. And also, Maina put a motherload of seals on you. Sora: What are you going to do about the seals? She's going to notice if you try to break them. Zea: Well, that's the fun part. She already is going to think that you broke them. Trust me, she's not going to notice.
Zea placed her radiant lavender finger on my chest. My body started to feel a lot more nimble and more robust. Zea: Now, let's see how your mana core is doing after two fights. Zea slid her index finger all the way down to my lower abdomen. She then pressed into my skin. Next, my wannabe miniature cracked-up crystal ball with golden and dark lavender luminosity inside the mana core. My mana core appeared, floating three feet away from my body. Zea: Well, that's not good. More cracks have formed; you're putting too much stress on the mana core. I was hoping you would use the power that I gave you.
Sora: I didn't find it necessary to use your power to defeat my opponents. I can win with my own abilities. Zea: Well, at least use corruption. It's superb for your mana core. Sora: Fine, I will use corruption. Zea: Did you take your meds today? By the lack of eye contact, I take that as a no. Zea lets out a heavy sigh and reaches into her bathrobe pocket, and pulls out a test tube with green liquid in it. She took out the cork and chugged all of it, then Zea forcefully kissed me, and she made me drink all of the liquid she consumed. Sora: What was that?! Zea: Medicine, and it's already working. Look at your mana core. It's already cracking at a lesser rate. Sora: You could've given me the heads up. Why does the medicine taste so good? What did you do to it?
Zea: Wait, what did it taste like?! Zea's eyes widened; her face screamed with excitement. Sora: It tasted like blueberries. Zea laughed with delight and delivered me a kiss on the cheek. Sora: What's the big deal about it? Zea: You actually love me. Zea kept giving multiple pecks on the cheeks.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
