《A Quest in Egypt ( A Story Of Jinns And Witches Book 1 )》Chapter 4

In another realm, in Baatinn city, a thirteen-year-old boy was busy casting spells in his room. Baatinn city, the capital of the Kingdom of Baatinn, homeland of Jinns.
Ius was sitting on his bed. He was holding an ancient wooden object and periodically looking at it closely.
What are you supposed to be and where is your missing piece? He thought. I don't remember seeing anything else around when I was in the temple's crypt...
He rested his hand on his chin. Going back is an option, but I am not sure that the portal will open in the crypt again.
Ius had only started his course on energy vortexes at the Temple. But as true to his nature, he had already started sneaking around, trying to open portals before the completion of his course.
So far, he had found himself in some odd places around their kingdom.
The crypt was one of them. They forbade entrance and magically locked to all students of his age until they reached fifteen.
His unexpected ability to open doorways had been a dream come true. It allowed him to explore a world otherwise closed to him and other untrained jinns.
"I felt drawn toward you immediately," he said to the broken wooden object with unseen before writings wrapped in a cloth.
"You’ve intrigued me. I felt compelled to take you back although uncle Altan would kill me if he knew.’’ He passed his hands gently on the wood carvings. ‘’What are you? Please talk to me. Tell me your secret."
His curious nature had made him restless, and he knew that not investigating it further would drive him crazy. His family had always accused him of being impatient and quick to act.
I prefer the title fearless; he thought while making a grimace

Noise and footsteps quickly approaching his bedroom brought him out of his reverie.
He stared with a panicked look on his face at the fragmented wooden tablet. His heartbeats sped up; he said swiftly, "Hide from everyone, not to be seen, only by me."
The object disappeared. His shoulders dropped, and he breathed a sigh of relief. He then snapped his fingers, and a book appeared on his lap. Just in time as he heard a knock on his door.
He put on his sweetest smile and said, "Come in!"
A well-groomed, middle-aged man with a serious face entered the room. He was around 5 feet 11 and dressed smartly.
"Ahhhh, busy reading about Earth's geography, I see. Good boy!" He said smiling.
Ius quickly glanced at the book and saw that it was open on a map of the world.
He laughed nervously and replied, "Yes, Terra has so many countries. It is fascinating, Uncle!"
Altan sat next to him, closed the book and said, "Well, I have some good news. Since you have completed the first part of your training and received an honour, I have rewarded you with a trip to another realm.’’
He tapped on the book. "I am taking you to Terra!"
Ius' eyes bulged out. His mouth was agape, but no sound came out. Altan extended his arm and shook him a little. It did the trick. A loud sound came out of Ius' mouth as he hugged his uncle.
Ius had grown up a lot, and to Altan's surprise, his hug landed both of them on the floor. Ius on top of his uncle.
They burst out laughing, and Altan said, "In the creator's name, you have grown up so much. When did you become so strong?"

Ius a smirk on his face, shrugged, then held his hand out and helped his uncle up.
"You are almost as strong as me, Ile Ulagan! You sent me flying across the room with just one touch!" said Altan while adjusting his clothes. Then he quickly run his fingers through his silver hair.
Ius let out a chuckle. Altan was immaculate. He never had a hair out of place and his outfits always looked on point.
"Sorry, Uncle Altan. I got too excited by the news." Said Ius.
"I know the feeling; I was excited too when I took my first trip to Terra. I am glad you are thrilled; you know almost everything about that realm, but you have never been around humans; It will be a good learning experience for you."
He sighed and looked around the room. "Get ready, nephew. We are leaving tomorrow. First stop, Egypt!"
