"Ughh…"

I wake up in an uncomfortable and unfamiliar bed.

"Hey you, you're finally awake."

Looking up I see my best friend Maddy sitting next to me in what appears to be a hospital.

"What happened," I reply after gathering some stamina.

"The short answer is that you got hit by a meteorite in the head."

"…What?"

"So, you got hit in the head and the elderly couple that lives next to you heard a loud thud so they called the authorities," she explained.

Huh, I'll have to thank those two later.

"After that the police found you knocked out and an ambulance took you here, which I hope your insurance covers."

"It does, thankfully."

"Anyway they found your company I.D. and called them, and then they called me because you put me down as your emergency contact."

"Oh, so wait, how long have I been out?" I asked voiced filled with a touch of worry.

"About a day." To which I receive a casual reply.

She continued, "Don't worry though your boss gave you time off because of the whole hospitalization thing."

At this point the doctor decided to enter the room and he said, "Oh, you're up. So it wasn't a meteorite, but it was actually a piece of the moon."

"Other than that all the tests we done say you're good, so after some rest you can leave. However, the rock seems to be lodged in your body, but your body looks like it is dissolving the rock."

"Ok. I don't know how to feel about most of that."

Six hours later, I leave the hospital with Maddy and she walks me back to my apartment.

"You feel ok, Ally?"

"I feel like I was shot."

"Technically you were, but go get some rest, don't open your window, and know that I am always here for you."

"I know Maddy, we've been together all our lives."

After a moment of silence she hugs me close and then shortly leaves.

Ok, time for bed then.

My body started to burn. It was excruciating. It feels like all my insides were being melted apart with acid and are slowly built up again only to melt again.

Over and over and over and over and over again. This process continued throughout the entire night. My hair felt like needles, my bones felt like lava, my skin on fire, and my nerves fried. Through this painful process I noticed my once chestnut hair was becoming bleached and gaining a silvery shine. I then passed out.

I woke up again. Checking the time showed it was 9:47 AM. Late for work, or not, I think I don't have to come back til tomorrow. Ugh, Status.

Well, these stats are interesting, with a straight added eight across the board too. After gazing at my changed status, I look in the mirror to see my physical changes. First of all my hair is no longer brown is is more of a silver-chrome color, my eyes also seem to have a tinge of red in their once brown iris, and face is cleaner and thinner. It is almost as if my pores are incapable of holding dirt. Going down I notice that I have grown taller, a lot taller, as I was once 5'5" and I am now 6'. My teeth have sharpened quite a lot and pricking my finger along one of them causes my finger to begin to draw blood. My skin it self seems to be the same as my face and is almost unnaturally clean, and most importantly, my breasts have grown, just a bit though. My tail hair color seems to match my head hair too now.

…How can I show up to work like this!? I don't look anything like my identification! With everything other than my bone structure having changed, I wouldn't be surprised if they turn me away at the gate.

Ugh, I seem to be groaning quite a bit lately but I can just imagine the bureaucratic nightmare this is going to cause.

After coming to terms with my new several changes, I get something to eat, change, and leave my apartment to go to a place I hoped never to visit again, Al-Chem's Intelligent Creature Resources Department.
