Chapter 175: Wang Zen Vs. Hue Yi
He knew stood little chance against Hue Yi. Though he had never seen him in a fight, he knew that Hue Yi was not only powerful and skilful too. Whatever advantage he could get, if he was to win, he would need to take every advantage, ike being the agressor.
Wang Zen dashed forward. The two met. Their bladeds moving quickly in the night. Hue Yi was being pushed. Though they both used short blades, Hue Yi’s was shorter than Zens. A fact the younger boy used to full advantage.
Their blades caught in a bind. Hue twirled his, trying to manipulate Zen’s blade so that he may disarm him but Zen was familiar with the manuevre. His Battle Mannequn, Man Doll, would use it to great effect in his early training sessions to disarm him but now he had grown wise to it, using Hue Yi’s motion against him and turning the move against Hue Yi in an attempt to disarm the older boy!
Hue Yi showed his experience by avoiding getting his sword disarmed and blocking Zen’s follow up stab wth a grunt of surprise. Their blades bevgan their quick clashing once again as Zen tried to press even more.
Hue Yi reached behind his back and withdrew his second sword. Zen felt the pressure as he stopped gaining ground having to deal with two swords.
Once again, they were caught in a bind, but unlike the last time, Hue Yi still had his other sword at ready and free of the bind! He raised it and its length began shining in the ki the teenager infused into it.
Knowing he would not survive a shot like that at such a close range, Zen changed the grip of his sword into a reverse grip. Using the added strength the grip provided him, he pushed outand up, making Hue Yi’s own sword hand to obstruct his other.

Freeing himself from the bind, Zen crouched low and still with the reverse grip made a swinging stabbing motion fro Hue Yi’s chest, where he coud make devastating damage without it being lethal. Hue Yi leapt back, dodging the attack while raising his arms. Bothe swords were glowing with ki.
“X-Slash!” He swung both swords, creating an X shaped ki blast that sped for Zen.
Gathering all his ki, Zen leapt up into the air, dodging the fast moving ki. Some of it caught him, ripping sections of his clothes and skin. Zen watched as the X shaped ki shot beneath im and hit a building, drilling through it like an arrow through paper.
“Ki Slash!” Hue Yi swing each of his blades, this time, instead of an X shaped ki blast, these ones were siple arcs.
While in the air, Zen cotrolled his fall, dodging the firs arc but the second caught him in te shoulder, opening a wound and sending him spinning where he landed painfully on the ground.
Zen gritted his teeth as he forced himself back onto his feet.
“You are impressive.” Hue Yi said, his voice had a tnge of sadness that betrayed the mask hiding his emotions. “You forced me to use my dual technique. Too bad you don’t know any ki sword techniques, else you would be unstoppable.”
Zen was too sad to feel grateful at beig recognised by Hue Yi. The fact was he did not have any ki sword techniques and whatever advantage he had was gone. Heu Yi was taking him more seriously which squashed his chances into nothing.
He just stood there and watched him. Unsure of what he should do. Not knowing what he could do.
Hue Yi suffered not from that as his blades began glowing, prompting Zen to take a ready stance. A stream of fire sht at the older boy and he had to turn and face it.

“Makashi Slash!” Hue Yi shouted as his bladed moved blindingly fast, the ki of the technique dispersing the stream of fire into harmless embers.
“Shibi!” Zen cried as Shibi hopped onto Zen’s shoulder. The boy could not help but hug the scorch ape to his cheek for a brief moment. “How did the mission go?”
“Good!”
“Thank goodness.” Zen said. “You’ll tell e everything later for now, we have to do this.”
“He is enemy now?”
“No.” Zen said after amount of indecision. “But we still need to get past him. I don’t want to hurt him but if we hold back, we’ll lose. You with me?” Zen held up his storage stone to Shibi.
“Yes!” Shibi said as he took the stone.
“What are you saying to your Scorch Ape?” Hue Yi said, his easy tone returning to his voice.
“Not much really.” Zen said, feeling a new burst of confidence rising in his chest as he took a fighting stance. “Just that with Shbi on my side, I am unstoppable!”

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.

An old man's new world
An old man on his deathbed has many regrets, but the one thing he regrets the most is not fulfilling his sense of adventure. What would he do if given a new change? I always try to make the characters as realistic as possible by giving them lives of their own and motivations for doing different actions, but because I'm a new author, I might miss a few things, so please, feel free to tell me if something feels fake or unrealistic. I also write as a hobby, and my motivation tends to go up and down. If I'm not feeling motivated, I won't force myself to write. This means that the upload schedule might have abrupt gaps and sudden spurts.

Life is a game, with intrusive microtransactions.
Life is a simulation. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging we are just a part of someone's dream, lines of code existing to give purpose for some machine or anything, but why would this unknown entity add microtransactions in it? Maybe because that way it can wake up faster, by consuming parts of it's dream, until... well, who cares about an unknown entity that has nothing to do with this particular story?
