Chapter 178: The Final Bout
Zen gritted his teeth and fought to free himself from the ground. His ki strengthened every part of his body until he was able to fully dig himself out. He looked around, searching for Shibi. He was unsure how big Xu Hua’s attack was. Hehoped Shibi had nt been buried like he had.
He saw orange fur in the distance, unburied and he sighed in relief as he began making his way to Shibi.
Hue Yi’s ki roiled in his body.
“You must see, Hue Yi.” Hao Meng said. “Its over. Surrender and tell us everything you know about the Commoner’s Rebellion.”
“I’d never betray themor our plans!” Hue Yi said.
“There’s not much you can betray.” Meng said.
Hue Yi looked at him in confusion.
“Why do you think Xu Hua and I are here?” he said. “We were part of the Noble army. We received intel that a rebellion base was here and you being here only confirms it.”
“How did you find out?”
“A mole.” He said. “What do you expect.” He continued when he saw the surprise on Hue Yi’s face. “You’re part of a group of anarchists. Commoners who want to be nobles. There won’t be any loyalty in a group like that.”
“Weird because it was mole that told us where all the bases the noble kids would be hiding in.”
Meng looked shocked at this.
“There is nothing wrong with us, Commoners.” Hue Yi said, as the ki infused to his blade got stronger. “We are your equals and that won’t change no matter how you look down on us!” He took a deep breath. “Star Point X-Slash!”
Hue Yi shot out multiple arcs of X shaped ki. They all fused into one, creating a giant ki blast that looked like a twinkling star.
Meng threw his spear. “1000 Pound Ora!”
The two ki techniques collided, creating a shockwave that dug into the ground. They struggled and then Hue Yi’s technique began looking like it would win.
Meng thrust both hands out. “10 000 Pund Ora!” His spear glowed bright and began winning against Hue Yi’s technique.
There was an explosion of ki and Meng;s spear broke through, shooting for Hue Yi.
Hue Yi slashed at the spear and it disintegrated into nothing.
Meng’s eyes widened as he put his arms behind his back.
“You really need to be more observant of your technique cause I have.” Hue Yi said as he began walking closer. “Over the years, I have watched you use and mprove this technique. When we first met, you could only create the spear tip and even then, you could not maintain it for long. Then you were able to create a thin pole spear. Now you can even make it with some decorative flourishes.

“It is a powerful technique, I’ll admit it. I understand why mastering it is a rite of passage for your family. But as powerful as it is, it has drawbacks. Like the length of time it takes to form the spear. I’ve realised its all related to the amount of ki needed. Your Spear of Fate takes a massive amount of ki to form and each of your Ora techniques saps the ki from it, leaving the spear weakened. Meaning in a day, there’s probably a limit to how many spears you can create. I suspect you can’t make more than 2 a day. And I won’t let you make one, like you are trying to do now!”
Hue Yi dashed forward.
Meng was forced to go back. He had been gathering ki behin d his back while Hue Yi was talking. It was starting to take the form of a spear but it would take some time. “You’ve tried to stop me from making the ki spear before!” Meng shouted. “You failed then, you’ll fail now!”
“We’ll see!” Hue Yi shouted. “Makashi Ki Slah!”
Hue Yi slashed multiple times at him. The ki arcs shot at Meng who was desperately dodging. “You can’t also use any major ki techniques while you gather the ki!” Hue Yi said as he decreased the gap between them.
Meng kept dodging but the sheer number made it difficult. An arc caught him and he screamed. Another hit. Then another. Meng was getting pummelled with the ki slashes.
“Meng!” Xu Hua shouted as she rushed to Meng.
“Stayback, Love!” Meng said. “I can beat him!”
Hue Yi shouted louder as his hands blurred even more and the individual slashes fused into something that resembled a beam that engulfed Meng. When the move ended, Meng was still standing, his spear spinning in front of him . He had lacerations all over his body but he still looked determined.
The spinning spear stopped and he began pouring more ki into the spear to complete it but Hue Yi was already chasing after him. Meng poured as much of his ki as he could into the spear in his hands before he pulled his arm back and threw it at Hue Yi.
Hue Yi flipped over the spear that shot past him and continued forward to Meng. The spear struck to the ground and Meng gestured for the spear to come back. The spear shot back at Hue Yi. Hue Yi dived and rolled forward, the spear shooting above him.
“Ki Slash!” Hue Yi shouted as he slashed at the spear, sending it shooting forward with more power.

Meng caught the spear and he stumbled back catching it before it stabbed him. Meng used the opportunity to infuse more ki into his weapon. Their weapons met but Hue Yi did not spend too much time in the bind as he was already attacking at other angles.
Meng wielded the spear in his hands so that he could infuse more power into it. Hue Yi could see the cracks spreading across his blade. He needed to end it as soon as possible. He hopped back, his blade glowing.
“X-Slash!” Hue Yi threw another slash at point blank. It exploded butwas once again blocked by the swirling spear.
Meng laughed. “I’ve completed it! You’re out of luck again!”
“We’ll see! Double X-Slash!”
Meng leapt up, using the flying spear to float further up into the air. Meng knew he could not create another Spear of Fate. He needed to end this soon.
“This will end you!” Meng said. “This shockwave will disintegrate you!” He raised his hand and threw it forward. “1000 Pound Ora!”
“If that shockwave is as strong as you say, then there’s no use in me dodging. So I’ll take it!” Hue Yi shouted. “Blade Dance!”
Hue Yi spun and his ki whirled around him. The spear hit and was stuck in place as the whirlwind of ki grew stronger and faster.
Meng landed on the ground with surprise. “His absorbing the ki from my Spear of Fate!” He made a pulling gesture to free his spear. The spear came back to his hands.
Hue Yi was losing control inside the ki whirlwind. He had never had to deal with this much before but he directed it to his sword, where he shaped it around his two swords to create a sing large blade, bigger than the size of an average man.
“No.” Meng said as he instinctively infused more ki into the spear. It recovered its original form, becoming a full Spear of Fate.
“This ends!” Hue Yi shouted as he rushed forward and slashed downward at Meng. “Taste my strongest technique. Final Blade Dance!”
“I can’t block it.” Meng realised. “The only way I can survive is if I match it with my strongest ki technique. No… not match it, beat it! 100 000 Pound Ora!”
The two techniques met and there was an explosion of ki pulses. Ripping everything apart. Shibi ran for Shibi and cover the Scorch Ape’s body as the shockwave passed over him.
Downtown square had been obliterated by the battle between two Goixi Academy boys. It was a battle that would be remembered in history and it would increase the reputation of Goixi Academy. Two boys battled, one remained standing and the other remained on his knees.
The blades of Hue Yi’s swords lied shattered on the ground but man was standing, looking down at Meng who was lying unconsciouss on the ground.
Zen got up. His body still covering Shibi’s. Th eyes of the beats in his hands opened.
“Zen.” Shibi said.
“Shibi, you’re okay.” Zen looked toward Hue Yi.
Hue Yi looked down at Meng. “Now, I need to finish this.” He’s face adopted a look of thought. “I know, let’s see if I still remember how to use this. Stone Fist.” He curled his hand into a tight ball that hardened as it was infused with ki, making it glow..
Hue Yi raised his hand ready to smash Meng’s head in.
Zen saw something that made him shout. “Hue Yi, behind you!”
Hue Yi spun around, ready to dispatch of the threat with his stone fist. He punched at the enemy but his fist stopped inches from her cheek. “Xu Hua,” he said, with all the love he had felt.
Xu Hua slipped a knife into his gut. He coughed and fell over.
“NO!” Zen cried, running for him.
Zen slid to Hue Yi’s body. Tears were blinding his vision. He looed to Xu Hua, who was picking up Hao Meng’s body.
“You-You killed him.” Zen said, glaring at Xu Hua with his killing intent boiling over. “He loved you and you killed him!”
“He was enemy, how he felt about me does not matter.”
His killing intent subsided. For Xu Hua said one thing but Zen could hear the hurt in her voice.
She got up, carrying her boyfriend on her shoulders. “I saw you fight him, Wang Zen. So you will not be implicated in this rebellion when we crush the commoners.”
“Really?” Zen said as he looked at Hue Yi’s body. “Cause right now, I hope they win.”
She left and he and Shibi was there alone with Hue Yi’s body.

Disclaimer: I'll leave this on here for anyone to read. The last time I uploaded a chapter was nearly a year ago, and to all the readers who still kept their trust in me after I came back from my umpteenth hiatus, I am sorry. I will not carry on writing this; I started off without the correct foundations of a novel, nor commitment to fully finish it and I do not want to lie to you all once again. Maybe one day, I may decide to re-write the novel, with a new basis or at least a comprehensive starting point with many of the narrative errors cleared up; but, till then, this is goodbye. And, once again, thank you for the motivation you gave me. Even now, I see many emails come through with people commenting. Goodbye. A child blessed by the Astral. An unprecedented destiny. Watch his path, as he marches up the stairway of Heaven. A March of a Sovereign. [Adventure, Wuxia, Martial Arts, Fantasy] This is a Qihuan novel; it has eastern and western fantasy elements. More often than not in Xianxia or Xuanhuan there is a severe lack of character development, being a western writer I'm changing that. My characters, from my totally unbiased view, feel fleshed out and actually have emotions. This is my first attempt at a novel, I'm writing as a means to better convey my thoughts. I will, hopefully, steadily improve chapter-by-chapter. I'm very open to feedback and constructive criticism. As one can see this is a cultivation novel, so you know how this goes. I've decided to jump-start the whole rags-to-riches scenario. He is strong from the start and is given the utility to do so. *The cover art is not my own, all rights reserved to the owner. I will take it down if necessary. *The style of the recent chapters is comparatively different than Chapter 1.
