Now I only have one elemental at half health, with my last knight blade I have six minutes to kill it. However, now I don't have to kite it anymore, so once I summon my knight blades I stop running. Instead I just dance around the elemental, easily avoiding its attacks as I attack it relentlessly.

Yui says "Welcome back, Ash! To be honest I was not expecting you to pass, but I am glad I was wrong! There is food here, I am sure you are hungry by now."
Seeing the table laid out with food I rush over and start eating before I say thanks to Yui. Between mouthfuls I tell her about the test, how I passed it, and the rewards I got along the way.
"How long have I been gone?"
Yui says "Since you first entered the knight mage test a total of five hours have passed. It is just past lunch time on the same day."
"Only five hours?!? I thought you said time dilation wasn't possible for the mages?"
Yui says "It wasn't, the god of magic helped create these tests. They are far beyond anything the mortal mages could make. Especially the higher tests."
"Like the captain's test?"
Yui says "Affirmative. That is why I want you to take a break before trying it. There is a book I think you should read first."
"Okay, I will trust you. I will head to the library after I finish eating."
Yui says "I will have a sprite move the book to reading room one for you."
"Thank you!"
Once I have devoured every scrap of food I head back down to the library. As promised when I enter my reading room there is a new book waiting for me. I am surprised to find how small the book is, it looks more like a diary than a normal book.
Once I open the cover and start reading I quickly understand, it is the journal of a mage knight. What's more, it is the mage knight's journal of when he took the mage knight captain test. It turns out that the test is a lot more complicated than I was imagining, it actually takes you into a miniature world.

In this world you take on the position of a captain in a kingdom's army. According to the journal you have three weeks to prepare once you enter before a monster army attacks. He also warns that trying to warn the people of the world of what is coming will make them think you are a lunatic.
The test is based on how well you lead the troops under you, as well as your interactions with the people. Of course your combat against the monsters matters as well, but not as much. The mage knight who wrote this journal managed to pass the test, but only with a C rating.
According to this the test rates you on all aspects to determine your score. The scores go from F to A+ and each has a different reward, anything below C has a reward but counts as a failure. Not only does the reward include skill benefits like the other tests but it can also include items.
The writer of the journal apparently received a new sword for his C grade and from the description it was a very nice sword. After reading this I am even more convinced that I want to try the test, especially now that I have advanced knowledge. Knowing what is going to happen in the test beforehand is definitely cheating but I am not going to object.
"Yui, thank you for this, but I still want to take the test."
Yui says "I figured. Do you want to take it right now?"
"No, I will have dinner with the others. Let's plan on me taking the test after breakfast."
Yui says "Okay, I will have the test ready. Speaking of dinner, it is ready."
As soon as Yui is done speaking I jump up and join the others in heading down to dinner. Even though it has only been a few hours since I ate last I am already starving again. At least that won't be an issue inside the captain's test since there will be food inside.
"Yui, will the people inside the test have an issue with me not being human?"
Yui says "I actually do not know. No non-human has ever taken the test before."
"Um, that could be a problem!"

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Dwarf While Trapped in a Dungeon Full of Spiders
Thousands of years ago, mankind would honor their dead and their journey to the afterlife through the process of mummification. The elaborate tombs and burial rituals marked our transition from hunter-gatherers to civilizations and empires. However, it's been over 500 years since we've sent tributes to the underworld, and now the underworld, or whatever lies beyond, has decided to send something back. Authors Note- This story is inspired by DnD, Dark Souls, Guild Wars 1, and my love of eldritch horror and dark creepy dungeons. Also completed doesn't mean end of the line.
