《Dreamland》Chapter 56- Having Fun Between Hammer and Anvil

It was in a way anti-climatic. It was not as spectacular a spell as I expected. If I would compare it, it was like the case when the ghost tried to take control of me when I was inside the carriage to rescue Thiara. Maybe it was spectacular for the others. She dissolved somehow in the air into some kind of smoke, or fog, or was it ghost-form?
The smoke enveloped me, and suddenly everything was covered in a gray matter. I felt again a terrible pain in my head and lost control of my limbs. As that happened, I almost fell, but somehow my body did automatically recover. I was standing on my feet through some kind of instinct? The pain in my head continued. She did not warn me that it will pain so much! It was a slow and continuous pain as if somebody would be pushing slowly a knife into the back of my head. Hey, was it not so that I should not feel so much pain? Or was Cala suffering that much more?
I made timidly a couple of steps and moved my hands, but it was not me doing that. Then I was again dizzy.
“It is done!”
I heard that voice in my head.
“Whoa! What happened?”
The Lynx looked askew at me. All were looking at me unsure of what to answer.
“Ahm. Did you not just incorporated White Flower into you?”
It was Spartacius who spoke. Tina answered:
“Shh Sparty, she knows that... I think she is speaking to her!”
I looked at her and nodded:
“Indeed!”
I saw something on my leg. The part of the leg that came out under the robe. I asked pointing at my leg:
“What's that?”
“You can speak to me in your mind too. That is the entry point. It goes all up to your neck. You cannot see all of it now due to the robe.”

“Ow. It seems my fairy comes with a tattoo!”
I sighed.
Spartacius grinned:
“It is not bad looking.”
“I could hide it if you want. Should I hide your scars and the tattoo?”
“Yes please!”
It was the first time I answered in my mind. It worked. Spartacius asked again:
“How do you feel? Anything different?”
Alice watched me with Argus's eyes:
“Are you feeling ok?”
I nodded.
“Yes, I do feel ok. Actually, I do feel great!”
“That is because more magic is running now through your body. If you want that I do something, you need to let me lead.”
“Let you lead? How?”
“It is like stepping back from the steering wheel. You need to feel it. Saying: you are in lead, or you take the lead can help.”
“You take the lead!”
“You don't need to say it aloud. Saying it in your mind is good enough.”
I was no longer in control. She made a couple of movements at first slowly, hesitatingly, then faster, more precise. She took a deep breath, and I felt my lungs filling with air. It was a strange, fascinating and a little scary experience to feel myself moving like this, without being in control.
She made a gesture, and a mirror appeared in the air. I saw myself there: a scarred Cala dressed in a pink robe. She made another gesture, and all my scars disappeared instantly. Another gesture and I was Terri.
She giggled. Another gesture and I was a... a succubus? She laughed loudly.
“I just picked this from your imagination Dolores. So what would you like to look like?”
She had said that aloud. The Lynx looked askew at me whilst Alice laughed.
“Wow, stay like this!”

Spartacius seemed to be enthusiastically convinced that this was the best I could look like.
Tina shook her head:
“Don't listen to Sparty, Cala is looking better!”
After that, I enjoyed several minutes of the show.
We enjoyed it, it was not only me enjoying it. She could do anything we requested. Once she made me look like Alice, next I was Tina. She then made me look like a dragon, then like Spartacius, which got me booed by Tina.
It was really amazing to see what skills White Flower had and what she could spell. It was like an intermezzo, like a time-out that the referee granted us. Not even the annoying alien noises coming from outside the grotto did disturb us, but at a moment the Lynx raised his ears.
He turned his head towards the insides of the cavern and spoke to us:
“Shhht. I think I hear something!”
We went silent whilst he stayed concentrated, listening.
“Yes, somebody is approaching us.”
As White Flower was still in lead, I had the opportunity to see how she was listening. It was some spell improved listening, and I heard them too. The Lynx gave us more details now:
“Two large persons, really big, and one... easy footer. Could be a caster of some kind.”
White Flower confirmed:
“Yes, I can hear them too. I guess those two are trolls..”
“Trolls?”
Spartacius and Tina watched me with round eyes. Alice was worried too. The last time when we fought one troll, we had to break and run out. Now we were facing two.
White Flower shook her head.
“It is not only the trolls that worry me. That easy footer... I can smell ice...”
I felt how she was recalling her aura. She was trying to mask her presence. The Lynx confirmed:
“Yes, an ice mage. A powerful one.”
Alice watched me worried.
“I do not feel them yet. How far are they?”
“Around 200 meters. Coming this way.”
Tina looked towards the cavern's entry.
“What do we do?”

I should have been the Hero instead
William Valenston had a happy life untill a new demonlord appeared. With the constant threat of the vile creatures he must quickly become a man and defend his Race from the approaching disaster. the synopsis and title will probably change later on And I think it gets better after arc 1 ch 3 The real story won't begin untill the heroes are summoned so you may feel a little bored while Im building the world and te mc' s personality. I wanted to state that this novel will start with a lighter tune but then get dark real fast. For the sexual content: it wont happen untill much longer. And when it happens it wont be overly explicit. Gore and traumatising content: It wont be at the level of nauseous but it may be too so just to be safe. This is my first try on writing novels so I welcome all of your criticism either good or bad. And lastly english isn't my native tounge so expect some grammer mistakes. But I will work on that part I promise.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
