《Fate's Grasp》Chapter Six -- Darkness ; A spark of life.

The best thing I could compare it to would be an ocean, yet a sky at the same time. There was only darkness everywhere, no light visible. It felt as if I was falling through water, swimming but never getting anywhere. I could feel my limbs but I couldn’t see them, or were they not even there?
Clapping seemed to yield no results, along with any other attempt to feel some sort of physical sensation. I was nearly ready to panic, but a strange sense of artificial peace flooded over it all, soothing my fear for a moment. Again, the curious feeling jolted through my body, stronger this time. Panic, calm. Panic, calm.
My ears were whistling, attempting to stay active.
I started seeing phantoms. Eerie shapes; faces, vehicles, animals. Things with depth and light to them, yet they ran from view as fast as they appeared.
It felt like days, or minutes. On the other hand, it could’ve been seconds, or months. Did the concept of time even exist in whatever plane of reality I had landed in?
Another phantom of light flashed across my vision; a ripple echoing throughout the darkness.
Panic, Calm. Without anything to stimulate them, my senses were being driven insane.
Another ripple. More insanity.
Was I imagining it? Had I been driven off the cliff of sanity?
Another ripple, longer yet faster than the last.
Then there was darkness, it lingered for more than just a moment.
Now, another phantom appeared… a person..?
No, not a phantom, something told me this was real.
A spirit?
She was transparent, made of shades of light blue, yet she emitted no light.
Something told me to reach out, I instinctively did.
She turned, reaching for where my hand would’ve been.
Lights, sounds, feeling, wind and everything else. They all overwhelmed my body in a burst of sense-overload.

Then, the light of the sun danced on my eyes.
Author’s Note – These are happening at the same time

‘What the-’ I thought to myself, staring into either the depths of some abyss or the backs of my eyelids.
I pressed my lips, creating a small opening at the front and attempted to quietly bird call – if I had been captured, or was hidden somewhere, somehow.
Then it struck me, there wasn’t any… thing… No sound, no light.
Maybe I was trapped deep somewhere… No, there was no feeling. I tried moving my arms, my legs. They.. seemed to be moving and not moving.
‘What the actual fuck is this?!’ I yell, although it only echoes throughout my mind.
Panic seeps through my body, my limbs were the only thing I had full control over-
My life, my purpose, my very soul-
They all were either taken or dictated-
‘GET ME OUT OF THIS FREAKING PLACE’, I yell to whatever demon, angel, entity, anything that might’ve heard my voice.
A flash appeared within my vision; A figure of light blue. A flash of hope.
I didn’t care if it was hostile or friendly, It had the best chance of getting me out of here.
A wave of calm flowed over me, it was unnatural but better than the all-consuming panic that devoured me earlier.
My hand, or what felt like it, reached out, and the figure took hold of it.
Light. Sound. Everything. It flooded through my body for only a moment before plunging me into darkness.

The Nomad: A Starforged ttrpg Playthrough
Life in The Forge is rarely fun, least of all when you've got an AI that wants to turn you over to the authorities, a stolen ship full of creepy cult shit, and you've pissed off the only guy in the Devil's Helix who doesn't want you dead through sheer incompetence. Unfortunately for Ash, worst courier in the helix, that's his day-to-day. When he gets offered an opportunity to get back into this boss's good graces (and finally get something decent to eat), Ash jumps at the chance, even if that means getting tangled back up with figures he'd rather leave in the past. This is a solo play log of Shawn Tomkin's ttrpg Starforged, as such, even I don't know what's going to happen next! Enjoy the ride!

Twig
Twig is a commentary on the life of those born into locations and situations of poverty, crime, and hopelessness. Beneath the trials of Twig lay the conflicts of survival vs. progression. You'll laugh along the way, but will you see more than the comedy?

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
