《Hide and Aizawa》HA1 2.1 - Making Use of Old Skills

Today Hide and Aizawa visited Kibou International Hospital, one of the three best hospitals in Nikko, for a medical check-up.
And tonight, Hide visited Kibou Hospital one more time. Apart from wearing an office worker outfit, he wore neutral glasses, a fake mustache, and carried a rather worn out working bag. He also deliberately made his appearance a little crumpled, like an employee who was working overtime.
The clock showed 01:30 am when Hide walked slowly through the employee parking area to the staff entrance, and it only took a few seconds before he managed to open the locked door.
Without difficulty Hide found the HR Room, and once again it only took him a matter of seconds to open the locked door.
'Not much has changed.'
Hide turned on the room light, and not long after that, he was already working on a computer in the corner of the room.
The SFG curriculum was not always concerned with combat tactics and techniques. For personnel who were prepared to carry out covert operations both at domestic and foreign land, knowledge and ability to utilize local resources without leaving a trace were considered as important as combat capability.
In his previous life, in the formation training at SFG, Hide often had to infiltrate various facilities in Nichiko, both government and private, to obtain resources needed to support an operation.
During his training Hide had infiltrated Kibou Hospital five times to take drugs, chemicals, or even use its laboratory.
Therefore, for Hide, infiltrating Kibou Hospital was no different from child's play. Considering that he memorized the layout, procedures and security rotation, working hours of various units to the habits of the personnel, and various other information.
In half an hour, Hide managed to print an ID card and a laboran file using a combination of his fake photo and personal data from his memory.
After putting his fake file into the employee filing cabinet, Hide erased any digital traces. Followed by inserting a virus that would damage some of the employee's data files so that re-registration had to be done using hardcopy files.

When leaving the HR room, several nurses on night duty passed Hide, but no one suspected that he was not an HR staff member at Kibou Hospital. Some of the nurses even smiled sweetly at him.

Tropical Disease Research Center, a research institute for deadly tropical diseases that was massively supported by Nikko government. However, because Nikko was not located in a tropical region and free from deadly tropical diseases, the TDRC laboratory was established in tropical countries such as Bharat, Indo, and Villipine, in collaboration with local universities.
In the country, the TDRC Laboratory was only used to store research data, small-scale research, or educational purposes, and the only TDRC laboratory in Nikko was at Kibou Hospital.
With casual steps Hide walked towards the TDRC Laboratory which was located in the eastern complex. Of course, he was already wearing a lab coat and the ID card he prepared beforehand.
The identity he used was Arnulfo Lim, an Hoa ethnic medical student with Villipine nationality.
In Hide's fake profile, Arnulfo received a scholarship recommendation from the Head of the TDRC Laboratory in Villipine, had been studying at Tendou University since one month ago, but only four days ago he started visiting the TDRC Laboratory to support Professor Kurokawa's research, the mentor who gave him a scholarship recommendation.
Like most laboratories in Nikko, the TDRC Laboratory operates 24/7. Of course, the number of laboran who worked at night was only one or two people, and Hide didn't need to greet them, because even the smallest greeting would disturb their concentration.
As soon as he entered the TDRC Laboratory, Hide looked for an empty workbench specifically used for short-duration work. From a cabinet he took a pipette, condenser, thermometer, digital timer, beaker, measuring cup, spatula, test tube, digital table scale, and several other pieces of equipment, then set them on the table.
Next, he took some chemicals from another cabinet. Of course, there were some chemicals or semi-processed materials that he had to take from the special storage room.
As for the locks, Hide had no trouble opening them as long as he had the necessary tools. Some chemicals were stored in the refrigerator with a digital locking mechanism, but fortunately Hide did not need chemicals stored in that place.

After filling in the logbook for chemicals that need an end-user statement letter, Hide then started working. With confidence, he even uses a protein analyzer that was not widely known to the public. Of course in his previous life, the tool had become a common commodity when Hide started using it.

Otsu was a senior researcher at the TDRC, and she had a habit of working at night to avoid drinking invitations from her colleagues.
Like any other day, tonight Otsu spent her time at the TDRC Laboratory. When a young laboran entered, she only glanced at the logo on the lab coat that showed the laboran was a visiting student. Most likely was a recipient of a master's scholarship, and his outer look showed that he was an ethnic Hoa, maybe from Villipine or Vormossa.
Well, ethnic Hoa was spread all over Planet Terra and because Nikko provided scholarships to students from various countries, it was not surprising that one or two of the recipients were ethnic Hoa.
It's just that, why did the visiting students seem very familiar with the TDRC Laboratory layout? Picking up item by item without trouble finding its location as if the TDRC Laboratory was his home.
What's more, he also took reagents commonly used to liquefy narcotics and some semi-finished ingredients which were categorized as addictive substances.
Otsu immediately frowned, especially after she saw that the visiting student who caught her attention was aware of the procedure for the logbook for chemicals that needed an end-user statement letter.
In the world of chemical engineering, several reagents require an end-user statement letter. For example, reagents that could also be used to liquefy narcotics or used as catalysts in the manufacture of explosives.
The end-user statement letter must not only state the purpose of use and the research being carried out, but must also be signed by an official at the institution where the prospective user carried out the research. For a university, the end-user statement letter would require at least the head of the department's signature.
After obtaining an end-user statement letter, the prospective users would then place the orders from suppliers. The purchase generally took 1-2 months. Therefore, prospective users must take into account the time-table for their research.
Fortunately, the researcher and laboran at the TDRC Laboratory did not need to undergo a complicated process when they needed a reagent with an end-user letter. Because somehow, the TDRC Laboratory always had adequate supplies for every reagent with an end-user letter.
The researcher and laboran only needed to fill in the logbook before they used the reagents with an end-user letter. After that, there would be a staff member who specifically took care of the administrative procedure. Of course, only senior researchers were aware of the cheating procedure.
That's why it was very unnatural if there was a visiting student who knew the little secret among senior members of the TDRC laboratory. Otsu immediately stopped her work. She was interested in what products the visiting student would make.
And one hour later Otsu dropped her jaw, while staring at tens of vials filled with light blue liquid, neatly arranged in front of the visiting student's table. As a senior researcher, it only took Otsu a glance to realize that the blue liquid was a drug.
'Wut da faq! He's making drugs.'
Otsu didn't know whether she should admire the bravery of the visiting student or curse his stupidity.
Moreover, in the process of making the drugs, the visiting student used a relatively new protein analyzer, where until now only the head of the lab and his assistants knew how to use the device.
Without delay, Otsu approached the visiting student's desk, who without any guilt used government facilities and materials to produce drugs.

The Swarm
Anthony had been looking forward to playing the hottest new virtual reality game. When he put the VR helmet on he was met with a prompt asking him if he wanted to take a test to become a swarm knight. Thinking that this was one of the classes in the game he accepted. Instead of finding himself in the game, Anthony found that he was transported to a different planet. A planet where he would learn the greater truth of the universe. Everything was based on magic in the universe. Except that magic was based on nanorobots, called the swarm, that had been created through highly advanced technology. Genetics determined the access level and the amount of control that someone could wield over the swarm, and therefore their status in this society. Long ago Earth had been cutoff from the swarm. Now that it had been rediscovered, Earth would be reintegrated into the swarm. Unfortunately when that happened all the current technology on Earth would fail and be replaced with the ability to use magic. In effect, it would be the system apocalypse. As someone able to control the swarm, Anthony found himself in the unique position to influence how Earth was reintegrated into the swarm. Perhaps he could change things enough to save most of the people on Earth. But first he would have to learn how to control the swarm and become one of the leaders in the society he found himself in. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it somewhere between PG-13 and R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, and nudity.
