From the refrigerator at the command post, Hide took a box of De Queen Donut containing the last three pieces and two bottles of Orange Slurpy. He then approached Shizuka who was sitting and making small notes on the long table.
Hide downed the first bottle of Orange Slurpy and then took a bite of a donut before turning to Shizuka.
"Let's make the last review, tell me your job."
"Gathered the loot in sports bags and put it in the black van in the garage. Starting with the loot in this room, followed by the guards' equipment and weapons, the money in their wallets, and the gold jewelry they wore."
"How many guards do you need to strip?"
"12 on the second floor, 22 on the first floor, and 1 on the left side of the main building."
"What is the weight limit for each sports bag?"
"14-16 kg, or the equivalent of two guards' weapons and equipment."
"Good."
As he ate the last piece of donut in his hand, Hide said, "Now, I will teach you how to remove a chest rig and tactical belt from the guards. Watch carefully because this trick will make your job easier."
"Okay."
After gulping down the second bottle of Orange Slurpy, Hide approached one of the guards on the sofa. Swiftly, he opened the clip-lock in the center of the tactical belt, followed by opening the velcro on the upper chest without the slightest sound of 'Kraack Kraack Kraack!', then pulled the knot behind it.
In an instant, every joint-lock on the chest rig was released. After straightening the guard's body, Hide easily took the chest rig and tactical belt that had turned into a TTTT-shaped link, complete with various pouches, holsters, and combat knife still attached to it.
"This quick-release is created to make the medical procedures on injured soldiers easier, but I hope we will never use it in such a scenario."

"Understood."
"For elbow guards, knee guards, NVGs, primary weapons, and other stuff I'm sure you can take them off easily."
"Okay." Shizuka nodded before asking, "What about the other valuables in the villa?"
"Ignore them, we're already lucky enough if we can pack all of the weapons and equipment."
"Are you sure? There's a lot of luxury stuff here."
With a serious tone Hide replied, "In hunting, taking everything is the same as taking nothing. Also, it's impossible to cash in on those items without leaving a trace, and the QRF team can appear at any minute."
"Okay, but where will you keep the loot?"
"There are a few vacant buildings that I can use as temporary storage."
With some hesitation Shizuka asked, "If it's only temporary, how about we use Pine Abode?"
"Are you sure we can use Pine Abode?"
"Absolutely," Shizuka firmly added, "I am the manager of Pine Abode and no one can enter there without my permission. Pine Abode also has a large basement that is suitable for storage."
After pondering for a while, Hide said, "I will store the loot elsewhere, but will put Anya in the Pine Abode for at least a few hours. Then, I will take her to Hakaido."
Shizuka immediately frowned, "You're going to take Anya to Hakaido?"
"Yes, I know a good family that is suitable for her situation."
"How about her parents?"
"I bet she doesn't have them anymore."
"I see."
As he took two coils of trap wire from the equipment cage, Hide said, "Now, I can calmly neutralize the claymore fields and secure my exit. But before that, let's visit Anya."
"Okay," replied Shizuka as guilt and nervousness enveloped her heart.
---
Anya opened her eyes slowly and found herself on the bed under the blanket. But she was not surprised, because usually, Chief Koji would move her to the bed if she fell asleep on the sofa.

The only thing that was different from usual, she found a gas mask and several circular objects lying on the table beside the bed. But Anya didn't think about it any further. She immediately rushed to the sofa to continue watching Spoon & Bob.
She had been told that for the next two days her teacher would not come, so she could wake up late tomorrow.
Then, a few minutes had passed when Anya heard someone open the door to her room. When she turned her head, she found a bodyguard and a woman entered. The two of them looked very young and she didn't recognize them, but Anya didn't find it strange at all. The bodyguards and workers around Elder Moruyama did change frequently.
"Did Elder call me?"
"No," replied the young man calmly.
Anya nodded slightly before asking, "Are you guys new?"
"Yes, for now you can call me Apple and this is my partner Pear. From today, we and Orange, our other partner, will be in charge of taking care of you."
"What a weird nickname," said Anya curtly.
Hide smiled, then he calmly added, "Anya, we're moving to a new place, so you should pack up."
In reflex, Anya pursed her lips. "Should I change my clothes?"
"No, but you have to wear your jacket and sneakers."
"Okay."
"You can't bring your smartphone either, but I'll buy you a new one later."
"Mhm."
Without wasting any time, Anya got off the sofa. Moving from one place to another one in the early hours of the morning was nothing new to Anya. During the two years living with Elder Moruyama, she had experienced it dozens of times. So, Anya swiftly packed her clothes, toys, and belongings into a backpack with a Spoon & Bob picture and a medium sports bag.
When Anya was about to put on her sneakers, Hide immediately knelt in front of her and gently helped her.
"It seems you are similar to Chief Koji, unlike the other guards."
Hide smiled before replying, "Well, I'm sure he wants me to take care of you as best as I can. I also have a little sister a few years younger than you."
"I hope your little sister has a normal and happy life."
"Well, I'll do everything for her sake."
"I see," said Anya weakly as complicated gaze filled her clear eyes.
"Hey," Hide cupped Anya's cheek before continuing, "This time, the new place is different from the previous ones. I bet you'll like it a lot."
"New Guy, don't lie to me." Anya bit her lower lips before continuing, "All hidden houses are no different from a cage and I'm just a little bird inside it."
Hide didn't argue with Anya. He just sighed quietly before saying, "Well, for now we have an emergency. So don't go out of your room and if the lights go out or you hear gunshots, hide under the bed immediately."
"Yeah," replied Anya nonchalantly.
While Anya turned her attention back on Spoon & Bob, Hide got up and brought out Shizuka who looked very nervous.
After Hide closed the door, Shizuka then came closer to him and whispered, "Hide, we still haven't killed Toruma Mafia's Elder, so maybe we can just threaten him and let him go."
"No, I have a million reasons to kill him. So, let's focus on our job and get out of here as soon as possible."
"Okay," replied Shizuka calmly, but in her heart she began to doubt Hide's leadership.

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
