Chapter 7
Rise of the Assassin
Nora's part (lvl55 assassin s)
So me and Ace decided to eat some spaghetti. I explained how I got here while drinking beer. He said he was only 15 and couldn't drink, eh I'm only 16 but I drink alcohol, who cares about the age.
"So mmm… we accidentally got teleported here from Earth, because of an accident called void transfer. Basically void just ate part of the world due to unknown reasons and brought it here. It was a very small part, 600 square meters, whether it was for the good or the bad, that's how I got here."
He listened carefully and went into thought, then said "Well, so what do you think of this place?". I replied, "I love it here, but my family decided to just have a normal life, I just left them when I killed my brother."
Ace’s part (lvl 45 Illusionist, Philosopher, Spy, Monk s/h)
I assume she has a personal reason for killing her brother, I don’t really want to know, so I’m not going to ask. “I killed him because he tried to kill my grandmother and me.” Ok, she told me the reason anyways, what kind of family tries to kill each other, sheesh, that’s tuff.
"Well…, yes I don't regret leaving my family, though I wish I had company sometimes. However the path of an assassin is a lonely one, especially when you're trying to progress to the faceless one."
"Faceless one? I heard that you lose all the memories and lose your face for a faceless face when you become one."
"Well, only a small portion will lose their memory, most just lose their face and get a scar along with an empty face, empty except for the scar obviously."
Ok so, she is going to take the path of loneliness, but for what? "Why are you trying to become a faceless one?"
"I don't know, when I first learned about faceless, I knew it was what I had to progress to."
"Well, think about a reason, because that will probably help you at the harder times, well, I will now be going to the sentinel now ."
"Wait, don't go, you're the only friend-ish person I have ever met, can we progress at least until I get a requirement for faceless?"
Mmm… it isn't a bad offer, I already died once and lost a lot of stuff, I don't know what exactly happens when I get to 0 life, but I don't wanna find out.
"Alright I accept your offer for duo progression, I will be at my hotel at the other side of the road, ring the bell when we need to go…" suddenly she jumped at me shouting "No leaving! You have to sleep here!"
Well so I did, the bed was comfy enough, her hands were rough on my hands as I fell asleep, a true assassin's hands, I thought.

Renova's part (lvl30 archer s)
Me, Jaystyke, Melarie and the Red Point had been traveling for almost half a week. We finally made it to the sleeping forest. "Ok, be careful, I don't know who will come out at this point, it's foggy on that side." Red Point warned. "There are many things in sleeping forests other than zombie scrooms, there are slimes, cracs, entalists and talis which aren't going to be a big problem but the killer crabs are a bit dangerous so watch out and don't wander off." Neat, we're gonna travel through a forest covered in a fog with dangerous mobs, “Yes, I love it”, I’m not being sarcastic, I really do love danger.
Red Point’s part (lvl138 DS u)
So mmm… I guess Renova likes danger, I can’t tell if she is being sarcastic though, only time will tell.
"Alright, let's head inside then" I said as we marched in the forest.
Melarie's part (lvl4 nothing)
Yay, I am going to become stronger, I only gained 2 levels from weightlifting and walking far distance so currently I am level 4, I became level 2 when I killed the prince and their guards by the way. I heard everybody starts at level 0. Oh also, I got a requirement for weightlifter base class, but Red Point told me not to put a level on that though.
"Why not Red Point?, it's better than nothing." I asked.
"Don't put a level on anything until you can strategize your build, unless you need to be stronger instantly. You got me and this archer duo, so don't worry and just focus on exp farming." He replied. Seems reasonable enough, so I listened. Not knowing this choice could have cost my life.
Nora's part (lvl55 assassin s)
You want to know what happened that night? For people who are wondering, I'll tell you, nothing. He just basically fell asleep instantly. Smh, I heard that mages sleep more than normal people, but again, he is a hybrid mage, and non mage progressors sleep less than normal people. So I guess he sleeps like a normal person? I don’t know.
Anyways, after that night, we setted off together. To where? To nowhere really. Well, in his words, "wherever we can get money and experience." Looked decent to me. “Let’s set off then”.
Ace’s part (lvl 46 illusionist, Philosopher, Spy, Monk s/h)
So we set off for glory. While hoping an idiotic ultra classes, like the yesterday’s sigil commander, doesn’t come to interfere our journey. Nora has been silent since, she is pissed off from something, I don’t know why though. “Nora, are you mad at me?”, “No!”. Ok that’s a lie, she is definitely mad at me for some reason. I’ll just talk to her later.
“Alright we are here. It’s the zombie scroom place, I’ll watch the back while you farm exp, you need it more than me probably, faceless one needs tons of exp. That's a different part about this world than the Rogue Lineage game, in the game, you didn't need exp for the ultra classes, but here, you need tons and tons. "Alright, thanks'', with this Nora started to slash her dagger at the zombie scrooms.

Nora's part (lvl55 assassin s)
As I farmed my exp, I saw some people coming, probably some newbies. I'll let them farm some exp as long as they let me farm more. “Who goes there?”, Ace said. I whispered “Be quiet, you don’t want to say anything, even if they are probably newbies in this field.” I was going to tell him the reason, but I didn’t need to, nor had time for. Because, as soon as I said this, they jumped on us. There were 3 of them, one with an abyssal greatsword, probably an abyss walker ultra, the other was probably a fire spirit mage ultra, because there was a fire spirit on the mage's shoulder. Last one just had a steel dagger, probably a base class or super. "A boosting squad! WATCH OUT!" Ace realized what was happening at the instant and casted custos, knocking two of them (custos creates a wall that only knock backs neutral and chaotic). Fire spirit mage was the one who didn’t get flung off, “Ignis” the mage casted it in an instant. Me and Ace dodged the cast, “Triple dagger throw” I threw, the mage dodged. “Ugh, I need them to be stunned or distracted to start the combo.” I whispered to Ace. “Alright, I’ll distract them, don’t worry about that. Ignis!" He mana run casted ignis, a hard technique, which you cast ignis as same as mana running. However, the enemy mage just used a curse shield and at this point, the flung duo was coming at us from the left. "Dagger throw" with this, I disabled the curse shield of the enemy mage, Ace fake casted a spell then ran left for a viribus angle, "viribus" Ace said as the pillars appeared from the ground, Flinging the mage off to me. "Bane" I swiped at the thin air, before the dagger was slashed, the skill teleported me right in front of the mage, repeating this 5 times, hitting all, like how bane should be used for. I was laughing through the combos, not a vicious nor a happy laugh but a proud one, a smile showed in my face due to the fact that I was fighting against ultras and was winning, or so I thought at the time.
Ace’s part (lvl47 illusionist, Philosopher, Spy, Monk s/h)
I used viribus then Nora used a bane full combo on the mage, that’s when the abyss walker came into play. "Abyssal Leap", he jumped on us, but we knew how to counter it. I just blocked it with my hands, simple as that (curse shield doesn't work against this skill), while Nora dodged the attack with a dash. After this, the abyss walker made a mistake of swinging the greatsword. Why was it a mistake? Well, I used a curse shield right then, and if you know a good amount about this world, you would know curse shield flings anyone who slashes a weapon on it.
"Abyss walker flung pretty far, focus on the enemy mage rn." Nora said. I used jurzium to the mage, a skill with low accuracy and low success rate but is overpowered when hit. Of course, it missed. However it gave enough time for Nora to hit the mage 3 times and use lethality. Enough to knock the mage down. As she prepared to grip the mage. Somebody was coming to the scroom place from the distance.
Melarie's part (lvl4 wannabe legend)
Hey! I hear people fighting. How do I know they are fighting? That's because I hear cling clangs and booms. They are fighting so loudly that even the passing squirrel would shout at them to quiet down. Squirrels can't shout? Well, how is Renova shouting at them right now?
"Stop fighting please, at least quiet down a little".
That's what she said just now. Oh? Renova is only half a squirrel? Who cares, half squirrel full squirrel what's the difference?
They aren't paying attention! Well, that's bad, "Hey Red Point, can you make them stop?" I asked. "Well I could try, but I am not sure." Then he prepared to attack. "Wing Soar" With this, Red Point leaped into the prepared to use thunder spear crush.
Ace's part (lvl 47 illusionist +3 s/h)
Oh, mmm… there are people there, I only just realized that. One of them is looking like a dragon slayer ready to use thunder spear crush. So I shouted what came to my mind first, "Thunder spear crush, Mumchuo." It was a Stop meme from South Korea, I don’t know why I said it. Guess I am stupid.
Nora's part (lvl55 assassin s)
Ace shouted something weird, something about mumming spear crush. Then I realized there was a dragon slayer at the entrance of the zombie scroom pit. "Hey y'all, how y'all doin? I was carrying the unconscious mage at my shoulder to prevent the mage from waking up. I think the abyss walker fell into the abyss so nothing to worry about him coming to attack us, the newbie just fled after the mage fainted. So we've won, and my thought was RIGHT.
Red Point's part (lvl138 DS u)
So they explained the situation and we chatted for a while, then I asked "mind letting this fisheran and the halfkinds farm with you?", she answered "Sure, why not". Honestly I thought she would reject this and we would have either fought or waited. "Alright Melarie, let's start farming them." I said. "Actually, you people can farm zombie scrooms, me and Ace will catch higher tiered mobs for some money." After she said this, she and Ace left, probably to kill entalists, a mid-high tiered mob for this jungle.

Thomas the Brawler
Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.
