《The Red Snowman》The Porcelain Submarine

"Rudder to the left." - Shouted a large walrus.
"Yes, sir! Let's burst these bubbles!" - Answered a mermaid.
"Are... are... you sure?" - It was a timid voice of a three-legged, green creature with a single eye, monocle, and a beak. On top of its ruffled white hair was a sailor's hat.
"I was never more sure in my life! We're going deeper than anyone before us!" - That walrus responded boisterous manner.
Soon, all the sirens on the vessel started wailing and flashing with red light.
"Status, report!" - The walrus ordered.
"Yes, sir! We can't burst the bubbles! They're getting too thick!" - The mermaid informed.
"Splendid! PREPARE THE HARPOONS!" - The two-fanged boss shouted.
The girl did not hesitate, she took their weapons out of the steel locker and inserted them into two nozzles at the front.
"Sir! Harpoons ready!" - Mermaid saluted and grinned happily.
"SHOOT!" - As soon as the walrus gave an order, the green sailor pulled a lever, and two sharp spears pierced and popped all obstacles in front of them.
"Good! Full steam ahead!"
The green creature fixed its monocle and nodded, then pulled a lever after lever and valve after the valve, until the ship fixed its course and sped up.
"Sir? What are we anticipating to discover there?" - The mermaid asked.
"More B-b-bubbles of couuurse!" - The walrus chuckled.
The mermaid pouted. - "Sir! I'm serious!"
"Me too!" - The walrus reasoned. - "If the legends are true, these will be made of glass!"
Pop. Pop. Pop.
Pop.
Pop. Pop.
Crack!
"It is it! It is it!" - The green sailor yelled enthusiastically. - "The first glass bubble! We shattered it"
"STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!" - The walrus exclaimed. - "Turn the front lights on! Prepare the hook!"

"Yes, Sir!" - Both helpers shouted in unison, then the mermaid lit the lanterns outside and the green creature inserted the hook.
Right after, the mermaid moved to a periscope.
"What do you see? What do you see?" - Green sailor jumped around the mermaid excitedly.
"Shhhhh... I'm trying to focus." - She replied, then observed for a good five minutes and reported. - "It's a crystal! It's burning inside!"
"Pull it in!" - The walrus requested.
The green creature leaped to the hook and steered it into the crystal, then propelled it out, grabbing its target. It didn't take a moment and the item was already on the ship.
"What is it?" - The mermaid asked curiously.
"A compass!" - The walrus explained with vigor. - "Careful! We only have one three requests! I'll be fair, it's one per person!"
"Me first! Me first!" - The mermaid jumped a few times in place.
"Surrrrrre!" - The boss allowed it.
"Where are my three little turtles?" - The mermaid shouted almost instantly.
The fire inside a crystal turned dim, the porcelain submarine started to shake violently and all lights went out. Everything turned dark for a moment, then the crystal began to shine with a gentle purple light. Billions of little beams of light were sent out, landing on walls of the submarine. They represented the stars and purple twirls. The only exception were three red dots pointed in various directions.
"That's where the turtles are!" - The walrus wheezed.
"In stars? They're so far!!! But they're alive!" - The mermaid intertwined her hands and started to cry. - "I'm so happy."
The crystal turned off and the submarine's systems restarted, then the fire inside the crystal began burning once again and everything returned to normal.

"My turn!" - The walrus said.
"But boss!!" - The green sailor complained in an impatient tone.
"No, Igor! Not this time, I know you're going to ask something stupid and break it." - The walrus refused to comply. - "Me first."
"Dear crystal? Where should I go?" - The walrus asked.
"In twelve hundred meters, turn left. Follow the sea's ribbon, to the sobbing nobody seems to listen."
"My turn!" - Igor pushed himself in front of their friends. - "What is the value of Pi?"
"Three point one four one five nine two six five three five eight nine..." - The crystal started reciting.
"Oh, no." - The walrus spoke. - "You did it, again! You see, that's why you need to listen to my orders!"
"...seven nine three two three eight..."

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.

An average teenager is randomly transported into another world by the whims of a god. Given no reason and no goals to go for, he was forced to start fresh in the beautiful world of Alterea. Bringing with him his averageness and (probably) wise mind, he ventures forth to a path unknown. This fiction was solely made for my own entertainment.
