《One Versus Destiny》Chapter 33: Torture 2.0 and Rehab

I felt a tremendous shockwave of soul power. Only five jade-categories could have done that. I called all my connections, who got a thousand ruby-categories to fight their souls.
***
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! Owwwwwwwwwww! This is insane tourture. I need help. Ordeath, thanks for buffing my soul’s strength. Shadeath, please fight the diamond-categories’ souls. Abjwe, please heal me. Whew! The pain eased up to when Ice suppressed me. Seems better.
I finally woke up. My soul strength was now gold three, the strongest in Magicspestone. It was January thirteenth, which was more torture. I realized I would have to fight the kings. I asked the committee of the worldsafers, and I got the drops from Ice.
I started training rigorously. I wanted to reach bronze soon.
***
It was Arjun’s birthday, and he hadn’t called us in six days. We were all very worried. He called us the day after, and said some diamond-categories had been torturing him.
***
I did six moves, then crumpled. A silver-category healer was in my house. He started trying to heal me, but I accidentally threw him out of the house with my power over it.
***
I was worried about a copper-category attaining such power. I went back in, thinking about how most of this information was restricted. I had had to learn it at a very low category, as my speciality was soul trauma. It wasn’t pretty. High-categories couldn’t go mouthing off about such a thing. It would have been insanely horrible for low categories. Soul experiments are hated by the worldsafer committee, so anyone doing those would be hunted down. It was usually silver-categories conducting the experiments, as they had the power and money, but weren’t scrutinized so much it was hard to do so. It was almost impossible for someone to reach gold-category without being known, and definitely not diamond. I had to help those people.

I reached the soul recovery room, and entered.
***
I couldn’t use my powers for two months. Rick, the healer who was helping me finally let me go back to usual after a test. I was clearing out a thousand or so contracts a day.
I would go to the worldsafers hall, pick a contract to kill monsters or a monster, and then suppress it so hard it died. My team contacts were not always so easy, though. Sometimes I had to deliver things, or capture prisoners. When we did monsters, I killed them with my soul, or when we did humans, I paralyzed them with my soul, then my team would capture them. I went back to the schedule, but doing a thousand contracts a day.
One day, I was late for work, and there were no contracts I was eligible for. I asked what happened, and apparently, I had done most of the contracts. That happened a lot, so I would just tell my team and train all day. We kept the schedule up for two years.

Necromancer and Co.
In a time before the existence of the present, the gods decided to create a plane of existence where all their creations could exist in the same place. In it, all would be fair, and all gaps between races and technological advancements could be crossed with a single system that the gods had created. Every year, the gods would choose a new race to put in their land, and in this new group of beautifully unlucky people, Alen, his friends, and a few people from Earth have finally met their turn to be tossed into the playground of the gods. Unfortunately though, Alen was thrust into a forest of corpse-eating bears and horribly smelly undead on his first day, one of the many danger-zones of the continent the gods had chosen to throw them in. It would be easy to say that he simply died within the first day, or that he'd starved to death or whatever, but let's be honest... That story would be no fun to tell, yes? (Re-write of my first fiction with the same name.)
