《Soul Summoner in Isekai (LitRPG & System)》72. War as a means of nurturing war

Anno summoned the goblin warrior in a flash.
The goblin archer not far away saw this just in time and was so shocked that it blinked several times.
What did he see?!
A goblin had appeared out of nowhere in front of that human, and it was charging toward him!
"Whoosh!"
The goblin archer was also decisive and aimed an arrow at the goblin warrior charging up.
Poof.
The summoned goblin warrior who had taken an arrow in the shoulder paused for a moment and increased its speed to charge toward the goblin archer.
The latter drew back while bending his bow and firing an arrow.
Anno took advantage of the goblin archer being entangled and rode the wind wolf out of the gate in a huff to the previous battlefield in search of the level 6 demon's corpse.
Before he left, he summoned a level 6 large slime to help deflect the arrows.
Arriving at the spot where Rodney had fought, Anno sent the level 6 wind wolf to deal with the goblin archers as well.
"Here it is!"
Anno quickly found a few bodies nearby that were relatively larger than normal magical creatures.
Of Anno's summons, the four level 5 goblins that had been sent outside had blended in with the demonic attack on the south gate and could not be recalled for cancellation at the moment.
The only ones left are the goblin warrior, the level 6 wind wolf, and the large slime - the summoned wind wolves all died in the battle earlier.
It just so happens that Anno still has three level 6 souls.
After summoning two level 6 goblin warriors and a level 6 dogfolk warrior again, Anno had them pick up their weapons from around the area and charged back.
The level 6 wind wolves were instructed to exit the battlefield to pick up Anno.
When Anno returned to the battlefield, the goblin warrior that was initially summoned had 4 arrows sticking out of it and blood had stained its body red.
Although it was not dead, it was only a trace of blood left.
As for the summoned large slime, its body was littered with holes that had been pierced through, and its body lay limp in a corner waiting to die.
The goblin archer's eyes wavered violently after seeing Anno make a trip out the door and not even half a minute later appear with a few more level 6 demons.
Although it was fast, accurate, and had a high attack power, it had less than ten arrows left.
The goblin archer had originally thought of killing this human-controlled goblin and then recovering the arrows.
But to his surprise, the fleeing human had returned - it had just thought Anno was preparing to escape.
The house around it had caught fire at some point.
Through the wavering flames, Anno's gaze was fixed dead on the goblin archers a few dozen meters away.
"Together!"

Anno wasn't sure how many arrows the goblin bowmen had in their pouches, but it was right to bully the few with the many.
Three goblin warriors immediately rushed in front of Anno.
The goblin archer raised his hand and shot the already badly wounded goblin warrior dead, leaping backward onto a roof and shooting arrows at the other two goblin warriors from above.
"Ow!"
The wind wolf tilted its head and barked, its body suddenly accelerating.
Nearly approaching the goblin archer, the wind wolf leaped up more than three meters and lunged towards the goblin archer on the roof.
The goblin archer looked at the wind wolf and Anno in mid-air and a cold smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
With his left hand, he drew an arrow from the arrow pouch behind his back in a very short time and put it on his bow. He pulled it hard and aimed it at Anno above the wind wolf.
"Stupid human, jumping into the air is your biggest mistake!"
The arrow came off the string after locking precisely on Anno's head.
Both sides were now on the same level, just ten meters away in a straight line.
It was as if the goblin archer had already seen the human's head being shot off.
Poof!
As the goblin archer looked on in shock, a dogfolk warrior appeared in front of Anno and blocked the arrow.
The dogfolk warrior threw the cross-ax in his hand at the goblin archer in front of him as he was hit by the arrow.
The goblin archer jumped off the roof to avoid it, but just as he landed he was sprayed with acid from Anno's shot.
The goblin archer's leather armor sizzled with corrosion.
Where the leather armor did not protect him, a layer of skin was removed.
His right hand was also splattered with the acid and he almost dropped his bow in pain.
Anno didn't give his opponent a chance to catch his breath and charged at his wind wolf.
"A long-range profession, I don't believe you're good in close combat!"
Anno thought to himself, and the next moment his body flew backward and smashed into a wooden house.
"What the hell, what kind of power!"
Anno spurted out the blood from his throat and couldn't get up for half a day.
The goblin archer had just thrown a punch at Anno's chest, sending him flying and breaking two of his ribs.
Although the goblin archer knocked Anno off his feet, he was pounced on by the wind wolf that Anno was riding!
The wind wolf was only level 6, but being a magical beast, strength was naturally a strong point.
The goblin archer who was pinned underneath was sweating profusely.
With his strong left hand, he grabbed the wind wolf's throat and pushed its mouth open a little.
His right hand, corrupted by the acid, was about to go to his waist to draw his dagger when a dark shadow suddenly appeared next to him.

"Poof!"
The goblin warrior, who had just arrived, stabbed the goblin archer in the waist from the side with the short sword in his hand.
The goblin archer's body trembled as he suffered the blow and lost all the strength in his left hand.
Ka-boom!
The wind wolf's maw closed and bit the goblin bowman's head off straight away!
The goblin archer did not expect to come across such a strange human today.
Even if he could dodge his arrows in advance, he could still tame magical beasts, turn into magical creatures out of thin air to help him fight, and even do magic!
If it had known that this human was so abnormal, it would not have come with the Slime King!
[Got goblin soul (green) x 1, experience +100]
"It actually gave 100 experience points!"
Counting the experience from hunting level 5 goblins and trolls before, Anno's experience value reached 805/1000.
It was only less than two hundred points away from leveling up to level 7.
The wounded Anno covered his chest and walked out of the house.
After working around the goblin archer's corpse for a while, Anno was accompanied by a level 6 summoned goblin archer.
Race: Goblin
Level: 6
Profession: Bowman
Health: 1200/1200
Magic: 600/600
Skills: [Night Vision] [Eagle Eye] [Precision]
"Ahem!"
Anno covered his mouth and coughed twice, wiped the blood he coughed out with his hand, and left with a few level 6 summons.
When he came to the entrance, Bande was still leading a battle with the demon troops.
Not even a few minutes had passed and their side of the battle was still sizzling.
However, with only about sixty men around Bande, he was somewhat outmatched against the thirty or so demons.
But after Anno's summoned creatures joined the battle, the tables began to turn.
In particular, the summoned goblin archers killed six demons with the only six arrows they had left!
Extremely efficient!
The demons had no idea why a powerful kind was attacking them.
They couldn't resist fleeing towards the door after holding out for a while.
But eventually, the summons caught up with them and cut them down one by one.
Only one Ratman jumped into the moat and swam towards the other side.
Only it didn't swim far before it was shot in the river by goblin bowmen who had recovered their arrows.
"Night vision really works!"
Anno looked at the summoned goblin archer and murmured.
Learning [Night Vision] required the consumption of 50 goblin souls (green), and Anno could only put aside his own petty thoughts now.
"All that's left is the Slime King and those two special slimes!"
Anno instructed the injured crowd to bandage their wounds in place before searching for any nearby adventurers.
He followed the trail of the Slime King's destruction.
Everywhere the Slime King passed, either house collapsed or nothingness - swallowed up.
Anno rode the wind wolf for over a minute before finding the Slime King near the slums.
Along the way, Anno saw many smashed or burned adventurers lying straight where they were.
Anno's [Low-Level Self Healing] only worked on himself and could not help them at all.
Boom!
Intermittent spells were smashing into the Slime King all around, but the Slime King's blood level was currently over 1500!
"Roar!"
The Slime King in front of them was enraged by the magic and his body suddenly spewed out a huge amount of acid.
The dense acid fell in all directions like a curtain of rain.
In the darkness of the night, many people did not see the acid and screamed in dismay.
Anno's heart raced and he immediately took his summons to fight.
The summoned goblin archer also jumped up to the house and after shooting the arrows from his pouch, he gave Anno to act as his eyes.
Anno used the summoned goblin archer's [Night Vision] to find Shore and Sunow.
Shore's body was covered in wounds corroded by [Acid Rain], but Sunow behind him was well protected.
"Brother Shore, how are you?"
Shore had just rinsed the acid off his body with water from his water bag when he heard a familiar voice and turned around in surprise, "Anno!"
Anno got off the wind wolf and turned to Shore and Sunow, "The demons at the gate have been dealt with, but Bande and the others are all unable to continue fighting as well. I've told them to look around for anyone who's injured and help patch them up! Trying their best to save!"
"Finished with the demons?" Shore froze for a moment after hearing that, it's only been less than ten minutes. How could it be so fast!
He then reacted and said to Anno, "The Poison Slimes and Flame Slimes were also taken care of by us, now only the Slime King is left!"
After observing the battle for some time earlier, Chloe realized that it was easier to do damage to the Slimes in close combat as long as they avoided them when they swallowed someone.
So Shore let the others take cover and charged the flaming Slimes alone.
The battle was certainly a thriller, but Shore was able to kill the Flame Slimes in the end.
As for the Poison Slime, the group let the mages focus on bombarding it because of the paralyzing poison gas that was emanating from all around.
Finally, it was Lu Yan who shot it with [Judgement]!
But with the Slime King in front of them, Shore and the others were really out of ideas.
"There's still a chance!"
Anno looked at the 100+ points of magic power he still had left and looked at Shore and asked, "Where are the bodies of two special slimes?"

Bleached Nightmare
500 years into the future, technological progress has stagnated. Wracked by a series of problems like climate change, lack of resources and the innate human lust for war, the geopolitical landscape of planet Earth is radically different, and quality of life is far from what it was in the past. While technical development and research into realistically feasible space travel has made leaps and bounds, this has come at the cost of a world that is reeling from centuries of technical stagnation in other aspects of life. The establishment of a mining colony on Mars has led to the discovery of a new, rare material called sarinium; though it is extremely tensile and durable, it has a very low melting point. The discovery of this metal leads to large mechanical infantry- dubbed 'Spirit Striders', they are six to ten meters tall and as famed for the pride they provide a nation as they are a lethally mobile heavy weapons platform. The story follows the character of Marilin, who must both figure the enigma that is her past, and what this means for her allegiances in the future. Despite her genetically physical frailty, she seeks to gain power through a vessel that will channel her wish to change the world- the Spirit Strider. --- I hope you all enjoy my work. This is a story that I began writing over four years ago in my beginning years of high school, and have cast aside unfinished in the past two years. Though it is not up to my current standards, I hope you all may find some enjoyment in it. Happy reading.

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).
