《Rise of the Business [Class]》45. Roldy

A surprise on the way back was Mossy joining them and actually letting Harold touch him for a minute before stepping away again and tagging alongside them. The mosswolf had been growing steadily, and although there was plenty more to go, they knew that soon enough he would have the frame of an adult mosswolf, if not the weight. There was probably some secret to what grew individual magic wolves to the size of alphas, but the fellowship was still figuring it out. The thought reminded Livia of the conversation she'd had with the [System] earlier.
"Hey Roldy, how's training been going?" The new nickname caught them by surprise, but Roldy was used to rolling with the punches by now. "Yeah, it's good Livia. Brunner is teaching me all kinds of tricks, not to mention letting me know when I'm moving awkwardly in my new gear." The suit of wolf hide and sharpened bones was like a second skin at this point, and since the garment was organic it was even possible to repair it using Roldy's magic, although it was still a laborious process. The soul did a lot of the heavy lifting when it came to regeneration.
"How about you Kalle? Feeling like visiting your old friend the waterfall?" Kalle blanched at the suggestion. Once was plenty for a memory like that. "No, I'm gonna keep working on my [Telekinetic Push] and start to focus on my domain, yeah." He nodded vigorously to emphasise his own suggestion.
"And you Oscar, any closer to figuring out what Class you're going to land on?" Oscar had been following the conversation carefully, wondering if Livia was up to something. "No decision made, but I'm feeling closer every day, thanks for asking Liviaoldy."
"Don't do that."

The funerals were that night, and the whole town showed up to pay their respects to the fallen. It wasn't some ancient viking ritual where they were placed in a longboat and set on fire with goats and horses, no. Although they did still have legends of such things, even here on planet Ross.
Unfortunately all three of the deceased were from the same family, two brothers and a sister. The parents stood stoic, hands on their rather strange weaponry, it looked like some form of battle gauntlet. They were murmuring their goodbyes. It was unfortunate, but not surprising to the people of Salcret. The family was known for being reckless when their blood was up, despite having had twenty five children over the years only ten remained. Livia could barely get her head around how the woman found the time, there were some twins in there but that hardly explained it.
The somber affair soon finished and they all headed back for a drink at the Hare's Retreat, the ones with some energy remaining at least.
Lena walked up to the group right as they came to the small hill. "Hey, did you guys hear about that rumoured pegasus the Ogre mentioned to Brunner before we got there?" Apparently the cart had rumbled right by some other Human towns too and heard about some [Guild] in Dormata with a solid lead on a pegasus fjord. Because where one was found there was bound to be many. The news re-ignited Livia's childhood enthusiasm for the beasts and even the rest of the fellowship were soon sharing drinks and talking about the news excitedly. Riding such things was a thing of legend, from the golden era of Humanity when it was said such riders had been commonplace.
A couple of drinks in and Livia was going around the tavern showing off her tiny tattoo with the jolly cheer only proper apple-drink could induce.

She dreamed that night of a rugged prince charming who swept her off her feet only to start kissing her hand. It was lovely at first, until the dreamy prince kept kissing her hand, even turning it into licks.
When she openend her eyes the next morning, with a pounding headache, grumbling about Roldy forgetting to feed his wolf, since Mossy had been licking her hand until she woke up, she finally came to a conclusion.
"We really need to get you a real name."

Anti-Hero: Journey of Fear
There is a story where the hero makes friends, completes quests, and saves the world. This is NOT that story. In the VR world of Fate: Experience Acute Realism, the main character cuts his way through both the players and NPCs alike. This story takes a close look at how a true full immersion VR would be played. The setting is an open VR world where the players struggle to survive with a lack of knowledge and the NPCs panic in regards to the Travelers invading their world. The anti-hero of this story is cold and calculating. Sparing no one from his reign of terror he gives into occasional bouts of kindness before he is forced back on the path of blood and tears. For where there is a hero who seeks to bring people together to help the world move forward, there is an anti-hero who brings people together to seize the world for himself. WARNING: This story contains extreme violence, in every single chapter. This story contains references to sex, but no explicit scenes. This story has light to mild swearing. My chapters normally range from 4,000 to 5,000 words. This story does not contain happy endings, middles, or even beginnings.

Of Frost and Steel
After being kicked out of home by her own parents, Emily found herself living in the house of an old woman while working as a plumber to help pay the bills. Her slightly unusual but still very normal life came to an abrupt end one day when an incoming car crashed into hers. When she next opened her eyes, she found no ambulance or hospital room waiting for her. What she found were instead the faces of beings much larger than her who were not entirely human, and the opportunity to live a new life, free of her old one. WARNING: This fiction is dedicated to a friend of mine who spent twelve years of her life hiding who she was because she feared the reaction of her family. For this reason it contains LGBT themes, although they won't be the sole or main focus of the story. The story contains sexual themes, but I will try to keep them to a minimum or make them "fade to black". Chapters will be around 1000 words long and without a fixed release schedule, for the moment.
