《Supreme Empire》Chapter 20 A Warehouse

A carriage could be seen being driven by two white horses with the grand duke's emblem on the doors of the carriage alongside 2 knights on horses and in the distance, a somewhat looking dilapidated wooden warehouse around 10 meters tall could be seen.
"Alfred is that the warehouse?"
"Yes young master that it is"
~
William could be seen standing in front of the warehouse, he turned toward Alfred
"Alright thank you you can return now I'll be here for quite a bit of time"
"Young master unfortunately master Albert had ordered me to stay here Along with you to take care of your daily necessities like food a d clothing this was in case you decided to stay here for longer than a day"
William stood there and considered for a while and came to a decision.
"Alright but you cannot under any circumstances enter the warehouse until I exit myself you can stay in the apartment blocks along with the guards"
"alright young master"
William had a calm face on the outside but inside he was shocked as to how easy this negotiation went.
"Okay, so the metal is inside right?"
"Yes young master all the refined metal has been delivered yesterday itself and it is inside"
William nodded towards Alfred and then waved his hands dismissing Albert, he then headed inside the warehouse with an excited grin plastered on his face.
Inside 4-5 rows of refined iron bars were in the corner of the warehouse.
"All right it's all iron bars but I need to shape these iron bars to resemble something that can make a nuclear reactor work, okay let's see here a nuclear reactor that includes flexibility, simplification, passive cooling and safety features I'll need to make 8 different parts to make a basic nuclear reactor, Sigh...I'm gonna be here for a while aren't I"

"The first bit I should make is probably the nuclear core A reactor core is typically made up of a couple of hundred assemblies, depending on power level. Inside the reactor vessel, I don't plan on making mine too complex so It won't cost much but even then most of the metal would be over before I can even get to make a nuclear bomb and what I need to power the core is nuclear fuel ah...Can I still back out"
[Unfortunately, William your in to deep]
"Although making nuclear fuel is basically impossible with the current world technology and even if I could then I would need a lot more than mere half-ton metal to make it hmmm"
[Why don't you try to emulate the properties of nuclear fuel into mana]
"That sounds good and all but I need to manipulate the properties of mana itself"
[When you move mana out of your hands you can try to change the mana when you are about to move it out]
'Alright let's do this'
William concentrated on the mana in his body and suddenly realized that he had control over his body not only some but it's like he has absolute control over it.
"So this is that weird feeling I had when I was fighting the sub-boss wolf, Emma is this the result of my brain power breaking through the mortal boundaries?"
[Yes indeed it is Congratulations to you for technically reaching the mortal rank]
"Haha this is insane it's like I'm using my brain to control everything but first I need to explore my body itself before I attempt to do anything with mana, Man the possibilities ate limitlessly!"
~
It took William an hour just to explore every part of his muscle system and understand how it works and how mana affects It.

"Okay, I see so if I were to focus all this mana to mix with the available nutrients and let it be absorbed into the muscles I wonder what the result would be!?"
William first focused on directing the mana which he can now easily do because of his absolute body control and made the mana mix into the nutrients stored in his body meant for his muscles and then stopped what he was doing after carefully enhancing those nutrients to his best ability.
"Now all I have to do is observe the results "
William didn't wait for long before his body naturally released these mana-enhanced nutrients into the muscles.
Suddenly William felt a sharp pain coursing throughout his body, William bit his teeth shut to not make any sound but he was bearing excruciating pain all over his body right now soon though William's vision blurred and later went dark.
~
*huuuuh* *haaaaa*
William suddenly sat up and grasped for deep breaths, when William called himself in a bit he asked Emma to show his stats as he was curious as to whether him bearing that indomitable pain had born some fruits or it was just a waste
[Strength:9
Speed:9
Dexterity:9
Mana:8
Brain Power:11]
"Phew okay wow umm Emma why did my BP and mana increase cause I can understand speed and dexterity increase but these come to me as a pleasant surprise so I hope you don't mind me asking"
[Firstly your mana increased because of your increased body strength and enhancement making it so that mana is more stable in your body increasing its quality and efficiency and for the second well all I can really say is that the brain is as good as the body it resides in
And regarding you not breaking through to rare rank physically wise is because you just didn't have enough nutrients for a breakthrough left in your body even after enhancement]
"Alright although I got a bit sidetracked but I still know what the main goal is, to change the properties of mana"
William sat back down and started to feel for the mana in his body and led it towards his palms.
William then tried to apply the functions of atomic fuel and its effects exactly as he learned it and he managed to easily turn his manas properties into something similar to nuclear fuel.
"Alright now it's time for me to bring it out into the world

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
