《Soul For Gaia》01. Saved by Stranger

"Fuuuuck!"
A young man cursing at a pack of wolves who are currently chasing him, currently he is in a dense forest with many trees and running in a zigzag hoping not to be easily caught. Although it didn't help much, it was probably because this area was their territory.
"You damned stray mutt! Just go hell and die there! Hus hus hus!!!"
Jolt Wolf, in the catalog of monsters from the southern continent it was explained that this one creature was categorized as a D-Class Monster. This Lightning element monster has a bite that causes partial paralysis of a limb for a while, and not only that. Although quite rare, some adults have the ability to perform lightning movements. Super fast movements like lightning (though not really lightning fast) to make it easier to hunt prey, and it was this ability that got the young man cornered many times. Normally, if what is listed in the catalog is true as it is. The young man would have no trouble nor would he mind standing face-to-face against the dangers that threatened him, however…
"Who wrote the damn information in that catalog? Hunt in groups of 5-10 your ass! This fucking dog, bring the whole family as well as their neighbors!"
The anomaly was the right thing to say in the conditions he was in, currently the Jolt Wolf chasing him swarmed to more than 30. One bite from this creature and being surrounded, the answer is definitely a direct ticket to the afterlife.
"Stop tryin to bite mine ass, you stupid beast! My ass isn't a main course at your family garden party, you shit creature! There's no fat there! It doesn't taste good either! Trust me!"
Suddenly, using a lightning move a wolf attacked him from the right. With a reflex he swung his sword towards the coming wolf, unfortunately the wolf bit the sword with its fangs and used its body weight to pull it. Before he lost his balance he drew a dagger and stabbed it into the wolf's neck, as if not giving him time to spare now another wolf pounced on him from another side. Realizing that he wasn't in a position to attack, he ducked to dodge and in the next second swung the dagger diagonally and shouted.
"Wind Slash!"
As if frozen in the air, the wolf's body and head seemed to be separated. And from the neck of the headless wolf, gushed blood which unfortunately hit the young man's face.
"Bloody hell!"
He quickly wiped his face from the blood, it slowed his pace for a moment. And then, the sudden pain made him realize that he made a wrong choice. As soon as he cut off the head of the wolf that had just managed to bite the calf of his right leg, he felt a sudden cramp on his leg that made him stumble and roll a few dozen meters forward until he stopped under what looked like a large boulder.
“Ughh Damn, my feet… move damn it!”
He quickly tried to get up even with one knee still on the ground, drew his sword at the Jolt Wolf and lifted his face to take a closer look at them. Likewise the Jolt Wolf who had also stopped not far from him, stared wildly at the figure of the young man who looked fearless.
He is a teenager who is about 175cm tall, with black eyes and hair. At first glance, he looks like a normal teenager. Although one thing that is very striking and makes him look different from most teenagers his age is the look in his dark and sharp eyes, with a facial expression as if he is annoyed and dissatisfied with something. Or perhaps more accurately, the current precarious situation naturally made him put on such a face.

One by one the wolves began to circle around him to the left and right, encircling to make sure their prey didn't have a chance to escape. Showing fangs that occasionally emit flashes of electricity, with an expression that is no less sinister than the young man.
“... ... ...”
A dead end, he was in the worst scenario he could think of. Smoke bomb or Ray bomb? No, the creature he was dealing with did not rely solely on the sense of sight. And even if his sense of hearing was impaired, there was still the possibility that their sense of smell would immediately find him the moment he also closed his eyes.
“Looks like we have no choice but to dance, right? Fans of mine arse!?”
He brought his sword close to his face, gently kissed the blade and then murmured.
"Black Roses"
The sword that previously looked brilliant white, was now slowly turning black with a dark aura as if enveloping it. All the Jolt Wolf in front of the group suddenly seemed to stop moving because the aura emitted by the sword made their instincts respond to real danger, but a moment later their gazes became sharper and wilder.
“Alright furry bastard! Let's see which of us will be the first to set foot on the afterlife soil!... Hmmm? Hey! I can smell your carcasses already!"
The unpleasant smell wafting through the air was true, and it made the young man feel more and more uncomfortable.
“Oi oi oi oi, did any of you poop in your pants? This smell… HOOEEK!!!”
The smell was really disgusting, he thought, maybe it was this smell that made the wolves suddenly feel restless. Even with the fangs and ready to pounce attitude still displayed by this pack of wolves, the young man understood that they were quite hesitant. He also realized that most of these wolves were no longer looking at him.
Suddenly, he felt something big moving behind him. And whatever was behind it, it was big enough as it shook the ground around. The young man hesitated to look back, with the situation where he was surrounded by wolves. If he was even the slightest bit careless by taking his eyes off the enemy, and if the opportunity was taken by the wolves. The result must have been very bad. However, his fear of the unknown led him to speculate for other dangers. So that prompted him to venture a glance back, but what he saw then was something that made him froze.
The boulder is starting to stand up, boulder? No, it's someone's back. someone's? Perhaps more accurately it was a creature and it was now slowly turning towards them, showing a form sufficient to make normal people who saw it for the first time scream. A creature with a height of about 5 meters and standing on two legs, with a human-like anatomy that is very overweight and only wears a piece of clothing made of animal skin as pants. Carrying a block of wood that seemed to be a tree trunk that had been improvised for use as a weapon, an almost bald man with a sour expression that looked very unfriendly.
These creatures are called Trolls, large creatures with below-average intelligence that belong to the part of the Giant race. Some people call it Fail Creation, many people think that they are nothing more than slaves who only use their strength for war and other menial jobs. The stench that had come is from him, ‘maybe from his groin’ the young man thought.

“Hrrrr… hurr. Wwwwss”
The Troll made a sound as if he wanted to say something, but the young man didn't respond and was still fixated with a serious look on what to do next.
“Oi baldy, wait wait!”
The young man only made a sound when the Troll raised his wooden block high, and suddenly swung with all his might at it. It made him panic and immediately jumped to the side with all his might with a wolf's head still stuck to his calf which made him feel excruciating pain.
“I said wait! You overgrowing asshole!”
He thought that he barely escaped the attack, and after he managed to get back up he realized he wasn't the real target. It was the two wolves in the back that escaped his sight as they attacked him. Without wasting any time, he immediately tried to remove the wolf head at his feet. Because now, the wolves seemed to made the Trolls their main target after the attack just now.
'It's time for me to run away with this baldy as a sacrifice, sorry baldy. The Angels will surely voluntarily cleanse your body in heaven... with their tongue!'
With such things in his mind the young man prepared to run but the wounds and cramps in his legs did not allow it.
“Potions, potions? Ah, shit. I should have brought more."
The young man extended his left hand to the side, and out of nowhere suddenly a large backpack just appeared under his palm. He caught the bag before it fell to the ground without letting go of the surrounding crowd of enemies.
Just as the young man was trying to take something from the backpack, at that moment the Troll raised his wooden beam weapon high with both hands. The 'mana' reaction which was quite large could be felt by the young man, making him pause for a moment.
“Ooii, hey hey hey wait!!!”
The Troll looked silent, perhaps more accurately waiting for the wolves to get very close to him. The young man's instincts spoke once again, without thinking he jumped on one leg back with his backpack. Away from the pack of wolves, some of which have now stuck fangs into the Trolls' bodies, and away from the Trolls who stabbed his weapons into the ground with all their might. And then a huge explosion occurred, blowing everything around into the air. Soil, dust, gravel, leaves, twigs, wolves, backpacks and its owners.
"AHHHHHHH----"
Silence lasted for a few moments until the young man got up to look around. He felt a little dizzy, but he thought it was normal with what had just happened to him.
“Cough-cough, ahhh damn it! I thought I was going to die, that one was 'Earth Blast'? I didn't think wild 'Trolls' could use magic moves"
The young man shook his head, perhaps because he was so dizzy that he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
“I'm sure he's been bitten by a few Jolt Wolf just now, but why is he still able to move that freely? Hmm?”
What the youth saw then was a one-sided massacre, the unconscious wolves being killed off one by one by the Troll. While some who are still conscious or who have just woken up choose to run away. And not long after, the young man finnaly exchanged glances with the creature.
"Ha? What? You also want to execute me?”
The young man raised his black sword and prepared for another bad possibility. He realized he was at a very disadvantageous position with an injured leg, and all the Potions in the Carrier had been exhausted although there might still be some left in his backpack. And where was the backpack? Ahh it's there, not far. Just a few meters behind the Trolls.
“Fuck me…”
“Hrrrr hmm, go… ddd”
After letting out an indistinct groan, the Troll turned around. Picked up a few wolves enough to carry and away to leave.
“…….”
Again the young man was just fixated with what happened, he did not expect that he would get help in a place like this.
"Thank you so much O’baldy! Many people say that your people are dumb! But you, you're above average!!! So take a shower as soon as you get home!!!."
***
"Okay, let's fix all this."
First I took the healing potion from my backpack, and I was a little surprised to realize that only one was left out. As soon as I drank it the sores on the calves and this abnormal numbness disappeared periodically.
"Damn it, I almost died. I was careless cause nothing happened yesterday, and what happens today? I’m fuck"
I then gathered all the wolves that died in one place, there were 11 all of them. Then I pulled out a card with a fairly complicated magic circle seal inside, this was also the only one.
"Hmmm? Should I convert? The value may not be up to ten thousand, maybe not even half of it, but this animal's fur may be able to sell expensively. After all I don't have time to skin it, who knows if they'll come back?"
I poured 'Mana' into the card, instantly the seal inside shone and immediately threw it into the pile of wolf I had collected earlier.
A small white magic circle appears above the cards and is higher than the pile, while a larger circle glowing in red is created on the ground just below the pile. It's about 3 meters in diameter big enough to go around the pile, I could make it bigger by adding more Mana but for now I think it's the right size.
As time went on the pile of wolves seemed to shrink and this was normal, as well as the appearance of a fairly small red crystal above the white magic circle. That's normal too. It wasn't long before the two magic circles disappeared and left behind a pile that was now a completely different size from a few minutes ago, as if leaving only bones and skin. And yes, that's all that's left. The small red crystal that slowly descends is the result of the soul conversion process, I quickly took it and stored it.
“Albion who created this must be a fan who got the idea of 'Full Metal Alche****', he changed the old method that took a lot of preparation with this cool 'cow with glasses' way. I've read his biography, in some of the photos and explanations listed there. He is indeed spread out like an acute Otaku. Ahahahaha, still. Every time I see this, can’t help but feels nostalgic. Ahhh~”
Alright, it's time to collect these wolf skins. I used a knife to peel it off and remove all the bones, no blood and flesh just the skin covering the bones made this much easier. After I tied them together, I put them all in the Carrier Ring and then put on my backpack. It's possible that a wolf suddenly attacked me from behind with lightning movements without me knowing, and this backpack can be used as a shield just in case.
The village of 'Adali' or 'Renya' should be around here, it's already the second day since I came out of the foggy area of Lemerch forest. And I've been moving all the way south, according to the map I should have met one of them. Otherwise, I would have arrived at the great swamp of 'Magnild'.
'Haaah if I knew it would be like this, I should have headed straight east as soon as I got out of 'Lemerch'
"Well, rice has become porridge. I went east this time until I found the Jansen river, then went back south down the river downstream to 'Odhert'. Maybe it'll take more than a week, I hope I'll be back before the opening."
Immediately I rushed away, probably because of the change of plans so that good fortune finally favors to me. After approximately four hours travel, right at dusk when day are getting dark, I saw smoke soaring high on the sky.
"Hahahahhahahaha sayonara bye-bye Jansen!!!"
There is a proverbial saying ' where there is smoke, there is the Chinese ' yahh I am an Asian, so we brothers right? Whahahahaha.
"Okeh, better not waste anymore time. I've missed proper bed and decent food"
