《Omen Philosophy (Web Novel)》Chapter 24 - Sword Saints Era

The enemy of the Omen Sect is numerous spanning multiple countries on different continents. West of Mount Tian is where they’re mainly located and Carugonia would be the initial launch of the Dragon Campaign. Further west lies the continent of Serdio where the Omen Sect must go through in order to attack the main adversaries of the Omen Campaign. They are the countries that have colluded and formed the Coalition Army into the nations they are today, the Arcadian Empire, Anima Holy Theocracy, Beastium Autocracy, Eldar Kingdom, and Bahamut State.
(Author’s note: no particular order of the nations mentioned)
After the Omen Campaign, much of their armies were decimated. Even though they may have won the war, the cost of such conflict had their military forces reduced to more than half excluding the Bahamut State. Therefore, some of the Coalition Army banded together and decided to combine their remaining forces and create a super-government of their own.
Carugonia originally belonged to the Omen Nation and was managed by the 2nd Demonic Master, Elder Cheonsa, Dario’s godfather. Demon Lord Baal chose Carugonia for a reason; to usurp Elder Cheonsa’s title as one of the higher-ranked Heaven’s Respected Ten. Though, it was taken by underhanded methods. Demon Lord Baal was Bahal at the time and had recently gained his new persona to commemorate the victory of the Omen Campaign.
(Author’s note: a common occurrence when an individual decides to reinvent themselves often change their names as well.)
When the whole of Carugonia was demolished of all Demon species, there was a shocking discovery - there were prisoners of the Omen Nation. Such a discovery had surprised Dario who immediately went to see them. There was a longstanding thought that the Coalition Army could not take any prisoners from the Omen Nation due to how dangerous it is to imprison powerful martial artists. Both sides knew of this and the obvious speculation was that the Omen fighters must have been killed. They thought wrong.
Members belonging to the original 36 Experts and 50 Omens were kept as prisoners, or, more accurately, kept as playthings for torture. A lot of them had missing limbs. Out of all the shocking discoveries, inside of The Grand Castle in the capital city of Obviam Deis was a dungeon that held one prisoner only, it was Elder Cheonsa. Mangled down to the core, the 2nd Demonic Master’s body was unrecognizable.
“L-Lord Cheonsa!” Yelled Dario as he unchained the unrecognizable prisoner. From the looks of it, his eyes were deprived of life and stayed open.
“Veda can you do something about this?!” The young disciple seldom smiles or displays any semblance of emotion. However, seeing his godfather in such a horrid form made him waver. It was a rare instance since Dario is always the mature stoic. Yet, his emotions brewed uncontrollably when he emitted killing intent strong enough to kill people below his level. Thankfully, there were only three of them including Veda who is a quantum hologram.

“Calm yourself, young master!” This was the first time Veda had seen the young master with such extreme anger. Veda imbued the space with power cosmic that helped Dario become rational. “We will bring Lord Cheonsa to The Regalia immediately!”
In a manner of moments, Lord Cheonsa was brought to the surgical room and quantum nanomachines entered the patient’s body. Veda began the diagnosis.
“Lord Cheonsa appears to have gone through extreme torture physically and mental curses plague his mind. Analyzing… O-Oh no.” Veda stuttered for a second.
“What is it, Veda?!” Dario inquired vehemently.
“Forgive me, young master, I faltered for a moment. Lord Cheonsa’s meridians are permanently destroyed. Fortunately, quantum nanomachines can fix such a problem.”
Exhale. The young disciple exhaled a breath of relief. In all cases, once a person’s meridian points are destroyed, so too does the person perish. Essentially, to have cultivated one’s dantian and forcefully eradicated is equivalent to having one’s lungs or heart detached from the body. What’s confusing is how Lord Cheonsa was still clinging to life even with his meridians destroyed and a body that is unrecognizable.
“We will have to implant quantum cybernetics,” Veda said as he messaged bots to bring in parts of human anatomy.
Visually, Lord Cheonsa’s limbs are mutilated, having no arms, no legs, and skin peeled off with deep gashes riddled about. It took less than five minutes to see a gradual recovery as the skin was brought back to life as if no harm has ever touched it and a recognizable body was renewed.
“Just in case,” Dario said as he pulled out a recovery potion from the Item Box. “This elixir will definitely bring life back.”
Elixir Type: Consumable Rank: Legendary -A recovery potion that fully replenishes HP, MP, and AP. An exceedingly rare concoction to be found in the world of Soa. They say that Alchemists at the highest level produce such concoctions. The flavor is described to be a “taste of heaven.”
The young disciple lifted Elder Cheonsa’s head and placed the decadent glass holding the elixir on his withered lips. An instant effect took place as each drop was consumed, a positive reaction of Elder Cheonsa gulping down the elixir.
Cough! Cough!... Gulp. Gulp.
Belch!
Elder Cheonsa’s new body was installed with Legendary Class specs and mods. In other words, equipped with 21st Century technology perfected through Veda’s superintelligence created the most refined and superior weaponry of any time. It looked as though a wizened sage was brought back from the doors of heaven.
“He’s sleeping,” Veda commented. “His mind will come back. Give him time.” The butler placed his hand on Dario’s shoulder.
“Thank you, Veda,” words of sincerity were spoken.
Veda replied, “Of course, young master.”
The recovery of Elder Cheonsa was a success.

Gerald Killeway had led a legion against Demon Lord Malgas who rules over the mid-sized country, Orkis. Malgas, Demon Lord in name granted by Demon Lord Baal. In truth, his level was too low to be considered with such a title and position, however, his power is considered to be on par with a Demon Lord.
Demon Lord Baal is part of the High Orc species, specifically, a high-tier evolution - Blue Orcs. He reigns as the Chief of said species and specializes in the arcane which is magic akin only to the Orc race. Out of all the different colored Orcs in the world of Soa, Blue Orcs are those who have been exposed to an intoxicating environment of mana, typically, one with extreme yang energy.
Demon Lord Malgas Lvl. 77 Class: 7th Class Archmage
Species: Blue Orc
Demon Lord
Main Job: Sin Necromancer
Sub job: Sin Archmage
Titles: Hymn Master
Blue Orc Chieftain
Orkis is a dead land with no life. Spirits and undead monsters litter the land, making it an extremely dangerous climate to live in. And, Demon Lord Malgas would have it no other way. Such an environment is conducive to his power as a Sin Necromancer. It is a job class exclusive to arcane casters of the Orc race. Considered amongst the top superior job classes, the requirement to attain the Sin Necromancer job is to sacrifice all of one’s kin and reanimate them. A rather sinister way of attaining a job, but, such things often require abnormal means to gain power.
Anyhow, Gerald was given command of two adjutants, one was named Death Noble, Marquis Saix, and the other, Ptolemaeus, an Elder Lich. For the Dual Sword Saint to attack Demon Lord Malgus, a substantial force was required to supplement Gerald. Two adjutants and a legion of undead were sufficient for this mission. It should be noted that Sword Saints often go on missions alone, but, the order was to eliminate all enemies in the country of Orkis.
Death Noble, an evolution similar to an individual in the Peak Realm crossing over to the Transcendence Realm. For the undead Death Knight which is already in the Transcendent level, evolving to a Death Lord will make such a being on par or even surpass the Heaven’s Respected Ten.
Saix is such an example. Native Death Nobles in this world are transcendentally rare, naturally spawning every 100 years or so. Moreover, Death Nobles also have noble titles, in this case, Saix will often be referred to his noble title first then name. It was a title given by the Lord Disciple himself, Dario Courtwell.
When an undead is resurrected by a Sith Lord, certain miraculous features happen as the resurrector grows in power and the more undead that enters the fold. Saix, originally being a skeletal Death Knight has formed its own identity through its experiences in life. After being given a name and fulfilling the requirements to ascend to the next realm, Saix had manipulated mana at such a high level that he had willed to look like a human being. Though, it is easy to differentiate Saix from most human beings due to having an almost apparition-like, blue hue skin as if the eye was seeing a physical ghost. Yet, Saix had made a rather handsome face that is “rough around the edges,” because of the X-shaped scar between his shining azul eyes. He adorns noble clothing befitting a Marquis at his level with color-coordinating with some of the Omen Sects' national variations of color, black, and silver. Additionally, his cerulean, long frayed hair has given rise to his nickname, “Blaze-Blue.” Last but not least, Death Nobles that change their appearance will leave a piece of bone fragment that pays tribute to the roots of the undead species. For Saix, his left ear is decorated with bone earrings and piercings.
Marquis Saix commands all the undead physical fighters under Gerald Killeway. As for Ptolemaeus, the Elder Lich has remained in skeletal form while splendidly clothed like Saix. He is an arcane caster commanding the undead mages under the Dual Sword Saint and is often called “Ptolemy” for short. In terms of raw and physical power, Ptolemy would be considered more valuable. Having those two as adjutants made Gerald confident as he entrusted his back to them.

“That’s a huge gate,” Gerald said. “Well, shall we get started? This is my official debut after all, haha!” True to his warrior spirit, the Dual Sword Saint let out a boisterous laugh. He turned around and addressed the horde of undead.
“All of us know that there’s not much to be said.” Gerald turned around and mounted his skeletal horse, undead species - Life Eater. Unsheathing both his legendary swords crafted by the Omen people, he raised Requiem and Demon Regalia high in the air, “For the glory of the Omen Sect! For the glory of Lord Vicegerent!!”
His words vibrated toward the undead Blue Orcs atop the palisades of the massive gates. Stepping forward, Gerald Killeway who would be proving himself as the “Dual Sword Saint” unleashed the upgraded version of the skill, Dual Wave Blade.
“Dual Tsunami Blade!”
Aura Techniques: [Skill - Dual Tsunami Wave] Rank: SSS Proficiency: 100% -Enlightened after witnessing Lord Vicegerent’s Heaven and Hell, it inspired Gerald to develop a similar skill.

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.

The book contains morally ambiguous choices, violence, arson, vandalism, unnecessarily satirical portrayal of religious zealotry, profanity, background forced labor that looms dangerously close to slavery and much, much more.
