《Vyndra Stories》Reunion, Part 1

The trip to Drako was high-speed. He was surprised to realize that he did not shut up. It seemed that his partner was protecting him in some way.
Unconsciously he activated his ability, and now he could see the world in that particular way, he noticed that the way Drako ran through the air was similar to what he did when he used the blast, but he could not tell the difference ...
They were getting closer and closer to what had once been the central school building. I notice that some adults were dragging or not children. He saw some familiar faces fighting these gifted and also some corpses ...
Creatures fought with all their might to protect their comrades.
A fear, fear of seeing his friends among the corpses, began to run through his mind.
He couldn't see his young teacher anywhere.
He notices how at some ends of the terrain, people were counterattacking the invaders.
Again that roar sounded.
He looks back in the direction of where the scream was heard. Drako maneuvered himself into a defensive position against what was approaching.
The betas tried to get in front of the being, but they could not reach it, and that it went directly to the children left them at the crossroads of attacking or not.
The doubt of the gifted gave the beast enough time to stand in front of Drako and Tom.
Stopping in front of the pair, Ethius watched what was happening below; there were corpses, humans and creatures fighting, some of these were protecting one of these corpses or being overwhelmed with attacks, others fell helplessly. They went to the most humane extremes to confront those who attacked children and adults.
The consciences within him cried out in genuine anger for vengeance for the creatures that were being attacked. That guttural roar that he made whenever he could not contain the emotions of all the consciousnesses within his body erupted again when he could not bear the situation anymore.
He felt his conscience breaking. He no longer knew who he was. He couldn't bear the situation anymore. Every time he thought he found hope to move on, something took care to throw him off balance. The moment he wanted to stop witnessing reality, the other egos began to fight each other to take control of the body.
Drako remained as stable as he could against that roar; on his back, Tom could not face the terror, and his crotch was wet with fear. On the ground, the fighting stopped momentarily. Everyone was looking at the being that suddenly stood still in midair.

This time the roar also affected the gifted within the Betas.
The leader stared in amazement at the scene below them, the network was still blocked, but it is evident that the forces of America had reached the area.
But it was still not clear what was happening.
Noelle managed to secure the children at one of the security stations. And she returned to school, accompanying a team that had been formed at the request of the station commissioner.
As for the situation, they were just as blind as she. All the media were tapped.
Right now, she is looking at her student who was riding in the sky on a creature that seemed to be Drako, and indeed it was her evolved form.
She had to get him out of there before the humanoid creature attacked again; she didn't understand why he was in front of the boy.
The commissioner acted quickly and took advantage of the stillness for his men to reduce the invaders. Noelle shifted between everyone, made Batze grab onto his back, and pushed himself towards Drako.
Drako noticed in his vision that he was approaching, he recognized her, and coming out of his rigidity, he reacted, took the woman with his powers in the middle of his impulse and placed her on his back. He then made his way to a nearby building and landed on the terrace.
- What are you doing here? - He asked Tom who was still shaking.
- There were ... there were people ... in the warehouse who ... started attacking the others ...- he said while trying to calm himself down.
Tom got off next to Noelle from Drako, and Drako put his head to the side of Tom's face. The boy calmed down a bit more and responded by stroking his neck.
Noelle looked at the boy; she didn't expect there to be people hiding among that bunch of people. He felt guilty, but he couldn't know what could happen; seeing the situation here, he could imagine that something similar happened where Tom was before.
Drako noticed the being that was still in the same location, now clutching its head, trembling, and getting into a fetal position.
"Your friends are fine ..." Noelle finally said.
Tom lifted his gaze from the ground and looked at her as tears began to flow from his eyes.
- Drako, you can take them with them, they are in that direction.- she pointed with her right arm.- It's a security station, and I'm sure Tom will recognize it.

The betas surrounded the creature; they noticed that the body was going through something like a transformation.
The way she was before was incomplete, right now, the egos were converging into one, and her body was responding to this.
The gifted within the Betas had a sense of danger seeing this. They felt that if they let whatever is happening to end, they couldn't stop it.
So without any order, they all attacked at the same time.
Drako stepped in front of Tom, Noelle, and Batze, to cover them from the sudden shock waves.
"Why did they suddenly start attacking?" Noelle asked accidentally.
"Something was happening to that being," Batze said.
"Yes ... it gives off a wave of quite ... strong emotions," Drako commented.
Tom, who was still with his acting ability. He could see how the ripples surrounding the creature seemed to boil. His nose started to bleed. Noelle noticed it and wiped her blood.
- Deactivate the gift. Your body is still adapting to the new changes ... can you get us out of here? - he asked Drako
-Yes.
Ethius overlooked the attacks. His attention was focused on the changes that had just manifested. Now his mind was not divided; now it was an amalgamation of all those consciousnesses—a single being.
All the creatures in the scene felt a connection to him. And the humans had a sense of danger running through their backs ...
When he finally paid attention to what was happening, he saw the creature he had followed drift away from the scene. Now he carried more people on his back.
With his mind "clear," he decided what to do. First, he had to get the obstacles out of place.
[Wait ... please don't walk away; I won't do anything to those who don't face me.]
Was what Drako heard in his mind, the voice sounded calm but demanding. He unwittingly obeyed and braked.
-Drako? - Tom said
After this, Ethius began to focus his attention on the Betas. He wouldn't kill them, not, for now, he remembered that they wanted to communicate with him.
[If they stop attacking me, I will let them live. ]
One of the gifted reacted violently to the comment, after seeing how he murdered two of his companions. He felt he was making fun of them.
His weapons attacked, Ethius propelled himself upwards, dodging the attacks, in turn, turned his body and used that inertia to fire his claws, which were now sharper, and thus with several episodes that looked like short lashes, each of the remaining limbs of tBetaeta.
The Beta fell helplessly to the ground, and the people below couldn't believe their eyes.
[this is my last warning]
The leader ordered them not to make any moves that could provoke the creature's anger; they could no longer contain it.
- Why don't you move? .- I implored Noelle to Drako.
- He said he wouldn't hurt us ... and I don't think we'll be able to stop him if he decides to break us ...
Tom trusted his partner, so he didn't say anything; they watched as he approached them while looking at the ground. The fighting stopped; all the humans had received that warning message, they feared that if they continued the fight, the humanoid would attack them.
"Even the invaders don't dare to disobey him ..." Noelle thought.
- I need ... you to help me ... to get out of this world.- said the being this time with his mouth.
Tom looked at him carefully; the creature's gaze was tense, but also a touch of real fatigue; it gave him the feeling that he was waiting for everything to end. He saw that expression in some people for over a year.
- I don't think I have the power to take you out of this world. - Drako answered.
- No ... I don't mean this planet ... I want to go to our plane.
Our? '' Batze muttered.
- Yes, I ... we ... before being like this ... I was in several separate entities ... different creatures ... we thought that our companions did not call ... but ... no ... no, no, no, no, no ... it wasn't like that ... please, just ... I want to rest ...- his face varied between various expressions, and he trembled every time he spoke.
But when he finished his last word, his expression was unflappable again.
- Do you want to go through that portal? .- Tom said inadvertently, remembering that scene where the creatures appeared with their physical body.
-Yes.- he answers something hopeful.
The silence that had been before suddenly disappeared. A series of aircraft suddenly appeared; with the disappearance of their camouflage, it could be seen that these ships had a design that was unknown to the inhabitants of this star. Some floodgates opened, and a group of humans began to descend from them. Ethius recognized the equipment they had.
Anger began to bubble in his being.

Any resemblance between anything in this novel and the plane of reality we live in is purely coincidental. Was that a bit over the top and a wee bit unnecessary? Maybe. 2) This story features an antihero with a slight hint of villainy. So, sooner or later, it’s going to get dark. Very dark. Hence all the tags.
