RB Chapter 26 Rescue
Blood! Her entire uniform was soaked in the red liquid. It was sticky and uncomfortable, but that was the farthest thought in her mind!
Her entire body felt weak, like she could be blown to the ground from the tinniest touch.
'What happened? I...slaughtered those weaklings!? But...but...but how can that be?!'
'My glorious future! How can it end like this!' She tripped over a can and fell down.
She had found a deserted alley between two tall buildings. Vaguely, she could hear people's voices. They seemed to be searching for her.
She felt so weak that she couldn't stand up after the fall. Instead, she crawled between two rubbish containers and hid there.
It was currently 2:39pm...not that she could steel the time. The two buildings even blocked out the sun from reaching this alley.
She leaned against the wall and hugged her knees close to her body. A trail of dripping blood had been left but she didn't care enough to mask her trail.
'My brilliant future...ruling over this city!' Her face was pale, her brown eyes, lifeless.
'Someone plotted against me.' She remembered the weird smell just before she approached the old lady.
'But who?' Multiple faces cycled around in her mind, but she couldn't find any to pin the blame on, as they were all suspects.
'How am I going to get my life back? Now I might be going to jail, or death!' Her teeth chattered and her body trembled at the thought of death.
'I want to live! I want to live! I want to live!' She chanted in her mind.
'Right! Mother! Mother might help me! But first, I need energy! ATP shots! Everyone is searching for me. I need a change of clothes!' She thought.
She shakily tried to stand up. Her body felt heavy, but she persevered! She needed to reach the clan headquarters! Her mother would protect her!
She held onto the trash containers, and then the wall after exiting their midst. She stumblimgly walked towards the other end of the alleyway, using the wall for support.
'I must be strong! I must get out of here and find the culprit!' Those thoughts gave strength to her legs.
At the end of the alleyway, she poked her head out and saw that the streets were bussling. Cars moving along the road...pedestrians...some, who were holding weapons, and even the police! Everyone was searching for her!

"Haaa!" A sigh escaped her lips as she collapsed down with her back leaning against the wall.
'Its only a matter of time before they search this place.' Her heart which she had thought had also weakened with a lack of energy, was pumping faster, due to adrenaline.
'I need to get out of here! But how!' She was trying to come up with ideas.
"Young miss!"
A soft voice caused her to jump up and vigilantly look towards its source!
Leopard print was the first thing that entered her eyes.
A mature looking woman with yellow eyes and orange hair was standing in the direction she had just come from. She was casually clad in a long leopard print skirt.
Elena felt her gaze becoming blurry the moment she caught sight of the woman.
'Mother didn't forget me.' Tears were threatening to drip from her eyes, but she hid that by trying to wipe off the blood in her face using her sleeves.
"I need energy...ATP." Her voice cane out softly.
"Yes, here!" The woman removed a case, which had been hidden in the valley of her bosom. It was metallic and cylindrical.
She opened it, took out a syringe, and injected the contents into Elena's neck.
Elena felt a heat in her neck, which started to spread to the rest of her body.
Her cells were lively, they absorbed the energy, and if they reached their limits, passed the energy on to the next cell.
The transfer was instantaneous! Each cell could function as an independent living organism! It was the trait of the super cells! What was limiting their functions, was the human brain...according to certain geneticists.
"Hooo..." Elena breathed out, a mist could be seen! It was water vapour! Her temperature had risen!
"Finally!!! Now I don't have to feel like my cells are devouring each other!" Elena exclaimed.
"Cheetah One, are you alone? And what's with that get up?" She asked.
"No, miss! My team is monitoring the area! We can't walk around in our black outfits as we would be judged as suspicious, so we had to dress like normal people." She explained.
"What did mother say?" Elena's heartbeat sped up.
"She ordered us to rescue you and make sure you aren't caught by anyone, friend or foe." Cheetah One answered respectfully. The case containing the vial had been thrown into a dumpster.

"I was plot...nonono...I will explain it to mother. I need a change of clothes and also get rid of the blood and its smell!"
"We will first need to get you out of here miss! The parties searching for you are about to check this place."
"Okay! Get me out of here." She ordered.
'I hope nothing goes wrong. There are many experts. If any find us...' A look of worry passed through her face as she looked behind herself.
"Excuse me." Cheetah One said before scooping up Elena and placing her over her shoulder.
"Aaa...mpf!" A scream of surprise almost leaked out of Elena's mouth, but she hurriedly clamped her mouth. She had been picked up while absentminded.
Her legs were dangling at Cheetah One's front while her head at the back.
She almost vomited due to the jossling when Cheetah One's legs left the ground.
Cheetah One jumped, and kicked the wall of one building, then the opposite and continued in that way, back and forth as she went skywards.
She was barefoot. She kicked off the walls so fast that she reached the top in a few seconds.
After landing on the roof, she let Elena down from her shoulder.
"Give me a warning next time!" She shouted the moment her shoes touched the floor.
"Yes!"
'Hmph! If it wasn't for your mother, we would have long killed you!' She thought in her mind yet a servile look was plastered on her face.
Four shadows appeared from different directions and landed beside Cheetah One. They must have jumped up from below.
"Captain! We need to make haste!" One of the shadows warned an urgent look on her face.
The four shadows, were all women and all their hair and eyes resembled that of Cheetah One. They were also dressed casually.
"Let's go!" Cheetah One ordered the moment she was notified.
She took the lead, while the shadows took a corner each, boxing Elena in the middle as they took off westwards.
Even though Elena, due to her genes, was slower than them, they were still travelling at phenomenal speed.
They travelled by jumping from rooftop to rooftop. If a building taller than the one they were on appeared in front of them, they scaled it. They couldn't afford to take any detours!
"Cheetah Four! What was the problem?" Cheetah One asked through the earpiece softly so that she would lead to Elena panicking.
"Someone strong has locked onto us! My hair stood on end! It means someone dangerous is coming! From the central direction!" One of the women shouted, making the rest turn their attentions towards her.
'Shit!' Cheetah One cursed.
"You should always be calm!" She berated.
"Sorry ma'am! But I feel a danger to our lives!" She said.
As they scaled another building, their hearts were beating rapidly. Mostly for the Cheetah squad.
Their companion had the strongest instincts, even if the danger was far away, for as long as any killing intent was directed towards her direction, she felt it! Her instincts were bordering on foresight!
"Young miss! Someone as strong, or probably stronger than the matriarch is heading our way! My guess is that they want you! We will stall them for as long as we can! So go on ahead!" Cheetah One said, upon which the others stopped in place.
Elena continued on.
'Someone as strong as mother? Could it be that the other clan leaders want to capture me and blackmail mother?' No! Those people wouldn't do the job themselves! Then who else?' Elena asked herself as she increased her speed.
She even dropped down and started running on all fours!
"All of you! Get ready! We must never allow the person to pass! Can you still sense the danger?" Cheetah One asked.
"Yes! And its increasing!"
'It seems the person coming is still far off!?' Cheetah One wondered.
She could smell, hear and see anything within 500meters if she focussed on it!
"We might die here, but its better than not protecting the miss and going back empty handed or deserting! you all know the matriarch's methods, right?" She tried to comfort her comrades. They trembled when they imagined the terrifying things the clan lord might do to them.
"We will fight for as long as we can!" They shouted in unison.
'Yes! We must make sure the danger never reaches the miss, or try to delay it for as long as we can.' Cheetah One affirmed her resolve.
"All of you! Inject the ATP shots!" She ordered while she herself also took out another metallic case from her bosom.
