RB Chapter 50 Ravenous!
Drip! Drip! Drip!
Water droplets continously passed through the thick canopy to drop down onto the ground.
The rain had been going on for ten minutes.
Eric felt as if his stomach wanted to devour his insides. The hunger was killing him to the point that if an animal landed in his clutches, he would devour it even alive!
"Why isn't this idiot strong in the mind? He just had to go and eat all the meat without even living some for me, yet I have to pull him along and protect him! What..." Such mumbles escaped from Eric's mouth as he pulled Elec along.
He was unhappy and angry! He was hungry and had to look for breakfast on top of looking after Elec!
"Hey..." A hesitant voice called out from behind him.
"What!?" His stare alone was enough to silence Elec and caused him to almost trip. His dark expression was scary!
"Why...!?" Elec was about to shout before he remembered that right now, the master-servant relationship was null and void!
"What? Do you want me to kill you?" Eric pressed. His eyes were shimmering with bluish electric arcs.
Seeing that Elec was quiet, he turned back towards the front and continued to drag him along.
'I need to get it together or else I might lead to our deaths.' Eric decided to abandon his grudge and focus on the task at hand.
He was the leader, Elec, the idiot wasn't even qualified to be at the same level as him-in other words to be treated as an equal.
Eric was constantly maintaining his All spectrum eyes as he led the way. He had even detected what looked to be Baguma with them but it was pointless to expose the man as that would make this pointless.
Something startled the undergrowth as he was focused on another direction. That alone forced the two boys to stop and strain their eyes and ears.
(Shoo!)
Something once again made the vegetation shake in front of Eric. It was so fast that he had only managed to capture a blur.
"Back to back!" He barked at Elec who was behind him. The creature must have been circling them at high speed. The shaking undergrowth was the clue.
Two teenage boys, back to back, drenched in the rain water and cold, possibly hungry, with only their blue eyes releasing light had a creature circling them.
It regarded them as prey. So far they hadn't managed to make out its shape.

It looked like the previous grove's liveliness was returning after the departure of the wolf pack.
"Get ready. The moment it attacks, we strike! It might choose your direction, so you have to be prepared to strike! If you don't, you will lose your life!" Eric exhorted.
He felt weak. A lack of energy was causing his movements to dull and also caused him to cancel his All spectrum eyes.
(Shoo!)
The creature, apparently tired from simply cornering them, decided to attack!
Eric had been spot on in his prediction. The beast had captured the fear radiating off of Elec's posture and movements so it had decided to attack him first.
"Aaaaaaah!" A scream escaped the boy's mouth when a cavernous mouth widened in front of him. It was so massive that he was sure his head would be separated from his neck in one bite and swallow!
His heart sped up at an unprecedented speed! Danger caused his survival instincts to kick into high gear!
The will to live or fear of death, call it whatever you like, that caused his brain cells to instinctively try to choose the best solution!
He appeared to have tripped as his body leaned side ways. He was going to fall side ways in order to avoid being eaten! No thought of protecting Eric behind him crossed his mind! Right now all other thoughts were out of his brain except the one which stimulated his will to live.
As he tilted to the side, he caught sight of the body behind the large mouth and was astonished! It was dark, but he was sure that this was a rat like creature!
Eric, decided to trigger his all spectrum eyes for an instant when he felt movement at his back.
Triggering his all spectrum vision gave him a 360 degree view of the surroundings.
The moment he caught sight of what was transpiring behind himself, his blood pumped faster as he activated black fish scales to cover all of his body. He also tried the channeling energy thing and gave most of his energy to his left hand and right leg!
He had done this naturally as if he was a master of energy channeling!
He swung his body towards the right side using his right leg as the pivot while spreading his left hand.
His body rotated around on the spot as he turned to face the creature at his back!
His left hand swung and hit the side of the creature's head causing it to be launched side ways.

It crashed into a tree. The force had been a lot, but it looked unscathed as it turned around to face the two boys.
Eric spun multiple times before his body managed to come to a stop.
'I still have a lot to learn!' He thought as the two boys turned to face the rat like creature.
It was roughly the size of a cat, but the way it had opened its mouth suggested that it could devour more than what its tiny body suggested!
Elec, who had now just picked himself off the ground didn't have time to think about the sticky mud the was coating a part of his body! His entire focus was in the creature! Adrenaline was coursing through his veins!
'I must not let this creature out of my sight or else I might die!' Eric heard his thoughts as his brain waves were in flux.
Side by side, the two boys and the rat opposite them, were having a stand off!
Baguma, who was concealed somewhere had had his heart skip a beat when danger had arrived! It wasn't out of fear for the lives of the boys, but the way Eric had maneuvered!
'That must have been simultaneous energy channeling in multiple body parts! What a genius!' Even he was in awe of the boy's talent!
Screech!
The rat screached, trying to intimidate the two boys. It wasn't out of fear, on the contrary, saliva was dripping down the sides of its mouth in anticipation of the meal it was about to have!
The wolf pack's arrival in the grove had upended its ecosystem. Now that the creatures were coming back, some were hungry, like this rat.
Eric's stomach growled in the middle of this standoff.
He moved...so fast that Elec didn't manage to react!
'I must end this fight fast, or else this tension alone might sap my remaining reserves!'
The rat also moved, they were going to meet!
Both creature and boy were ravenous!
Eric channeled the energy around his body by moving it into the blood stream.
His blood was moving around his body at such speed that even his blood vessels were straining.
His dark blue eyes brightened as arcs of electricity swarm through them.
The creature launched a frontal attack! All it wanted was to eat! Satiating it's hunger was more important than intelligence!
Two meters away, it leaped, its target was his head!
Its mouth stretched to impossible levels!
Two inches away...Eric shifted his head to the left and his right fingers straightened into a blade like form.
He raised them so fast and plunged his hand into the rat's underbelly! Electricity was channeled through its body from his right hand and smoke rose out of its body.
Its momentum had come to a halt since his hand had dug inside its belly.
"Haaa...haaa...haaa..." Eric panted in place after confirming the death of the creature.
"If...haaa...you...haaa...want to...haaa...eat,...Haas...hunt for yourself!" Eric shouted towards Elec who was coming closer.
Elec stopped in place.
'Shit my vision is blurring! I used up my energy!' He thought as he wobbled.
He didn't dare delay and brought the rat to his mouth, he tore through the skin with his mouth and started eating right there.
Blood rolled down his cheeks and dripped to the ground as he tore the skin apart to get to the juicy meat.
Elec hurriedly looked away as the eating sounds alone discouraged him.
'Good thing its dark!' He thought as he moved towards a nearby root.
'Its unsightly, I know, but I need energy!'
Eric finished the entire creature in five minutes, all that was left were bones and entrails.
"That wasn't the most great meal, but I at least managed to replenish my energy." He mumbled. Upon waking up, he had discovered that Baguma had even takes their share of the ATP capsules.
"Now that you have finished your meal, let's go hunt for more!" Elec had been staring off into space when he had been eating, but now he was demanding they continue.
"Let's first get the cumbersome stuff out of the way, when we hunt a creature, we share it evenly. And don't think about slacking off, you need to gain experience if you want to work with me." Eric said while licking the blood off his face.
"I agree!" Elec nodded.
The two boys once again decided to continue, Eric at the front, and Elec bringing up the rear. He was paying more attention to the surroundings.
It looked like his life being in peril had awakened something in him.
TRIVIA
