RB Chapter 159 Flavor Of Youth
'I wonder why that woman didn't contact us.'
In a room with white water proof paint coating the walls, steam rose as jets of hot water fell onto a figure.
The steam caused the figure not to be easily visible, but it was a male. He was in his teens, his body not showing any fat...but well sculpted skin. The skin was brown and from his hands to his feet, his body was well toned and the muscles perfectly distributed. He was a fine specimen among many males. No scars existed on his person, only supple springy skin.
He had dark blue eyes which could make any woman become lost in. His face was perfectly matching with all his facial features as if an artist had sculpted it. His black hair was currently wet and sticking on his scalp. As he lathered soap all over his body, the water from the jets helped was away the foam.
This was the same day that the Lord and Legend rankings had launched. Eric was washing off the filth that had accumulated from multiple days in the wilderness. Even though he had taken a shower regularly in discovered streams, it wasn't as thorough as he was doing it now. The good thing was that a beard had not yet started to bother him, or else he might have needed a shave.
Apart from the first day when the missions involving true combat had been scarce, the other days had been hectic. The ants had finally been slowed down by a united collection of beasts and the missions had started to become even more dangerous and numerous. So, without any rest, they had been clearing the missions. They only been getting a few hours of rest during each day.

"What could she be planning?" He wondered out loud. The question Sally had posed to him earlier in the day was on his mind, eating away at his thoughts.
Cleo, the head of the Black Diamond Group and also currently the highest commander of the war knew about his current power. So why didn't she contact him to give him a designation to defend?
"Should I ask Michael?" He too, knew but he had only sent that video and not made any other move to contact him.
'He's probably still too busy.' He thought.
"Shit!" A curse escaped his lips and his eyes snapped shut instinctively. He had felt a stinging in them. Soap had accidentally made its way inside. He hurriedly brought his face near a jet of water and tried to get rid of the inconvenience.
-----
"Chloe, have you found out anything?" Eric asked, his slippers tapping the ground as he walked into the room. A white towel was wrapped around his waist and a blue one around his head. His chest was exposed in all its glory.
"No, if there are any hidden spectrum warriors, then the internet can't find them. I think they do exist though. Probably its a precaution since the beasts can pick up on information." Chloe raised her head which had been resting on the holographic screen. Her eyes glittered as she beheld his upper body.
She herself was seated in the couch while wearing a white bathrobe, exposed at the chest area, allowing for a glimpse into the valley between the two mountains at her chest.
Eric couldn't help but take a few peeks at the valley, his imagination almost running wild.
"Its such a pity." A voice came from another of the people in the room, Elena. She and Leah were sharing a couch directly opposite Chloe with their backs to Eric. They too were in bathrobes.

Elena's head had been turned and she was examining his well toned upper body with a glint in her eyes.
"The perfection of your body has made you a very appealing mating partner, not to mention your strength...but I can't have you until someone gets accepted first." She sighed in resignation.
"I have never heard of you having any interest in boys. So stop teasing me." He said.
"You do remember that I said I will only go out with someone who bested me, right? I was serious. Right now you have that power and their is no need to prove it. If you want..." She licked her lips, her expression suggestive.
Eric gulped down a mouthful of saliva. Her wet brown hair was sticking to her face and her face was perfection itself. She was a very attractive girl as he closely observed. Her words had lit a fire within him causing him to focus more on her features, like those thin lips, which were starting to look inviting to him.
"Hurry up and accept Leah...cause I will also follow her choice...it will be a buy one get one free package." She softened her voice causing him to be drawn in.
'No no no...' His thoughts went into overdrive causing him to blush. He hurriedly turned around after mastering all his willpower plus the obvious tent in his towel which no one had yet to notice, racing into his room.
"Hahahaha..." He heard Elena's laughter behind him.
"Elena...you can't do that!" Leah chasitised her friend, and he felt that this time she was truly angry.
-----
"I believe there are many hidden spectrum warriors like us, though their information has alluded me. We will just have to settle with waiting for the woman to make contact us." Chloe had given up. They were back in the living room having thrown some clothes onto their bodies.
"I...think the current situation is good. If you are called away on an assignment, our group would have to disband." Leah said.
"Yeah, and there are those plotting to take us down, so the longer the secret is kept, the better." Elena also said in support of her friend.
"But Sally's warning...if Monki is plotting against us, he must have taken you power into consideration." Chloe cautioned.
"It would actually be good if you are given an assignment to a far off place." She continued.
As they were exchanging thoughts, a song played in the room. Eric knew that it was definitely a call from his patch as he was the one who had chosen the ringtone.
As he looked at the floating unfamiliar number in the communication patch at the back of his hand, he became puzzled.

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.

Cascadia
Corvayne, a warrior exiled from his desert village, ends up in the backwater colony city Cascadia. He meets a strange girl, jumps through a portal to another world, and starts a journey to protect her and discover the secrets and treasures waiting in the mysterious rifts they call 'Towers'. Follow Corvayne as he fights throngs of monsters and explores totally-not-Seattle with Wick, his foul mouthed girlfriend. Along the way Corvayne will accumulate a rotating party of friends and misfits, journey into through dungeons full of dangers and loot, and learn to use a bevy of strange powers as he faces threats inside the mysterious 'Towers' and through the city of Cascadia, which hosts secrets of it's own, all while trying to unravel his tangled past. Updates: Mondays + Whenever I feel like it. ****************** This story features: -A cast who are mostly good friends and mostly good people, despite exploring weird and dangerous worlds. -A mix of dungeons, dragons, and exploring the pine scented city of Cascadia. -Very light LitRPG elements that slowly seep into the story. Learning the system is a challenge that takes the characters a long time. -A strange universe with a mix of both standard magic and powers that twist reality itself. Some wizards know how to cast fireball, but a few can curse someone to be lost for eons. -No explicit sex scenes. Warning is for implied sex scenes and some nudity. -Lots of blood, mostly monster blood. -A long planned story and long character arcs. I have the ending in mind as I write. -Single character PoV, with plans to add bonus chapters for other characters. [A winner of the Royal Road Writathon challenge.]
