I took out one of my knives and stabbed it through all four of its limbs, don't want it getting away. Weirdly it was able to understand what I wanted to do and squirmed even more, strange. I had gotten a strange theory, what if it's smart enough to understand the icarus language. I squated in front of it, with some distance, don't want it bitting of my toes. I squinted my eyes and said in an as domineering as possible with a 5 year old's voice "Do you understand my language, beast."
The beast reacted to it but tried to keep it on the down low, it seemed to recognize the icarus language. But I couldn't be sure if it understood with just that, I needed to lure it to react in tone with what I said, there for I said more relaxed "There's no way a beast could even understand this anyway, I must be going insane with this continent. Do you know that these savages don't even wash their hands or brush their filthy teeth, they see diseases as curses inflicted by evil spirits or something, I started tuning my tutor out after I heard him say 'Diseases are mysterious phenomena caused by certain evil ethereal beings called...'. I stopped listening after that, god damned primitives." I stoped looking at the beast and went to skin the beasts, it wasn't that hard with my with skill level, but the anatomy was a bit astranged, they didn't even look like a dintyle like the beast I killed in the intersection. How where they able to change this much, I wanted my answers but I had more important things to do like stop the bleeding "Who cares if you react anyways, I'll just sell you of in a couple years for some coin, you've got no idea how much a noble would pay for a weird variant to show their status."
I looked over my shoulder due to hearing a bit to much noise for my taste, the beast was struggling as mush as possibe to leave but the muscles in their four legs were cut, and muscles don't work if their cut "You should stop struggling, if I find out you somehow escape I'll just cut of your limbs. And atleast make less noise sound while struggling for your life, I am not mentally sound right now due to mental strain. I don't want to kill my walking pile of money do I?" I laughed slightly, then turned around to make some makeshift bandages. And mysteriously the sounds of pain and struggling died down, I liked this mysterious change so much I didn't worry to much about it. Taking of a long patch of skin after removing the fur, and cleaning it, I wrapped it around my arm like you would a bandage. And repeated this proccess for most of my wounds, nice and sort of has a smaller chance of infection.

Some wounds was a bit too 'large' to get a skin patch big enough, it was a bit sad to lose all that blood. I should take a break for myself to build up my blood amount, but that's for later. I sighed in annoyance, I had so many things to do. Like making the stuff needed for a first aid kit, or making an orginazation and modernizing it, and making sure the modern knowledge doesn't leak so that I can monopolize it. I again turned around and again cut the beast's muscles to immobilize it, I smiled while squating infront of it with a moderate distance "You can never be to careful when dealing with beasts, you showed me that that saying is true. In retrospect I really was careless in that situation, man I really need to thank you for this, or do I have to thank my luck? I'll just thank you for this." I gave the beast a thumbs up "So, thanks man or woman, or whatever gender you identify as, can't know if your a SJW or not. For teaching me to be careful infront of your kind." But then I made a cold expression "But that doesn't mean I won't keep you imobilized for a long while, at least till I get you out of this dungeon."
The beast slowly became calmer while I was talking, but reacted in fear at the last part. I smiled "So you can understand me, that's great, you have no idea how much cash I can get for a beast able to understand the human language." But then I put my hand over my chin in honest thought, taking time to proccess my new possible plan. I looked at the beast, or should I say money bag now? I put my hand over my mouth and looked at the money bag "I'm going to be rich, and you're going to help me with that, got that." And the money bag personified looked at me like asking what I want it to do, I felt it was weird that I could piece the emotions of a beast as if I was born for it while I had needed to practice for decades to understand the emotions of humans "Well you could choose not to, but then I'm going to sell you."
And what I pieced together from its expression was that it was doubting that I could sell it with my connections, I couldn't let that happen "Even if I can't sell you, then I would then just kill you for that sweet essence." I laughed a bit "And I doubt I couldn't sell you, the connections of an heir to one of the 6 great noble families is very great you know." I was bluffing and praying to every god I could think of including my luck stat, and hit line and sinker the beast got hooked in the way I wanted it to. It believed that I had the influence for it, but didn't believe that humans would buy it, I frowned "What? did you expect to be friends with humanity or something?" The beast looked somewhere else denying what I said, it was obvious that it did believe that, I made a shocked expression "Wait, you actually believed that." I didn't know at that moment but I let my emotions show on the outside due to the mental strain, due to that I made a disgusted expression "You're an idiot, you disgust me." I made that kind of smile that is obviously hides disgust "Let me help you, as I am such a good person." I made an expression filled with disgust and anger "This place is called the 'real world', not that illusion that you lived in. A place that doesn't care about your fealings and only the strong can afford the luxury of being kind, not the idealic little world you lived in."

That last sentance hit the beast hard, but I wasn't done "You have no idea how lucky you are that I had the suspicion that you could understand the human language, else I would have tortured you for getting me close to deaths door then killed you." The beast shivered "Yea, now be thankful to the gods for your luck. If you were picked up by the church you would either be the beast of the saintess who is a narcissistic hypocrite, that talks about fighting the evil monsters and the heritics while abusing the common folk for their own comfort, can't blame her though I would also be a hypocrite if I were in her shoes. But atleast I would hide it a bit more and actually help people to some extent to hide it better, instead of hiding behind your looks that hide your filthy personality that anyone that practiced reading expressions could find out about!" I realized I went of on a tangent and returned back to the topic "And you could be used to mask the corruption inside of the church. And that's if your a beast and not a monster, which I don't really know what the difference between the two." The beast seemed fearful at the last part, which was weird, I had a hunger for anwsers and a lot of free time at the moment. I squinted my eyes in suspicion "Wait a minute, you're not a monster are you?" The beast was hesitant in anwsering, telling me that it is a monster.
"So you are a monster, wasn't expecting that twist, but man my luck is good. You want to know something cool? it's said that you get way more essence from a monster than that of a beast." The beast turned monster again shuddered in fear "and I can get more use out of you with some other plans." then the now monster pinned down on the ground calmed down a bit "Since I'm such a good person, I will give you 3 days to decide to accept or, ya know, die." And I stoped talking, sitting in a shadow on the wall, but making sure to keep the monster disabled.
Hemdal-
Today I entered a dungeon with the heir of the able house, my lucky ticket to supremacy under him. I was going to learn magic on the second floor of the dungeon, it was dangerous for commoners but for nobles like us it was pretty safe. I had completely forgot that being in one of the top 6 families was so nice, it's a shame it would be gone in 5 years.
Able didn't really do anything exept walking with me to the second floor, it was going slowly due to him wanting to get his little gathering of dintyles to level 5, I assumed he was bored and wanted to do something else. Then like 1 hour in he just left, it looked like he told his beasts that he would or they just accepted that he left. It felt weird, and I couldn't ask his beasts since I didn't have a beast with sentience. I've been so used to having the people around me sucking up to me, it felt weird and alienating. But I couldn't do anything due to not being able to speak to beast, and the oath too.
Able's twelve beasts kept on going like nothing happened, over time beasts started to level up. They seemed to be in the level range of 3 or 4, some leveled up once and got a new skill, others 2. The weirdest thing was that it seemed that the beasts themselves asked another beast for advice on what to get, then got it without question. A good while after, almost all of them got their new skill.
Then for some weird thing happened, the drake and the small beast that all the other ones asked for Council. Started running in a direction, the drake a bit more enthusiastic and went with free will, and the small beast looked forced by the contract, all the other small beasts huddled around it. I decided to follow them, it seemed like they were called by Able. So I followed behind, not taking long to find him.
The scene was weird and I thought it would take a year or so to see something like it again, there was a moderatly large beast around the middle of the intersection. it was alive but its legs were bloody, it's muscles seemed to be cut, a common practice when capturing beasts alive, I did it quite often while I was a grunt in the criminal gang. It was seen as cruel and would be outlawed in 3 years, but it was very effective, enough for criminals to use it a lot.
There was some other beast corpses, I believe ten. some had vital parts of them destroyed by overwhelming force, the other ones had a throwing knives in vital areas. Then in one of dark areas I saw able resting, weirdly he seemed to have some hide covering some places. The big boss small beast and some others came close to him and made a strong light-ish green with gold accents, he seemed to heal as he took of the hide where wounds were hidden under. His clothes were regenerating, making me jealous of his enchanted clothes that were also cleaning themselves of blood at the same time.
He was still sitting on the ground and leaning on the wall, he was very, how do I say this? Tired and a bit unstable at the moment, I chose to be more careful than usual.

The Tower Trials
"The Towers have stood for centuries. They offer riches and power in equal measure to those that are brave, strong, and lucky enough to overcome their Trials. Isaac has arrived in time for the annual Novice Trial where young men and women aged 16 through 18 are set to enter the Tower for their first time. Novice Trials are a rite of passage, and though one is not required to take it, one cannot develop their Mana System without it. However, the trials are deadly, and there are always some that go in, but never come out. Regardless of the danger, Novice Trials are required for entry into any of the four grand academies. Those that survive the trials are able to gain experience and level-up as they ascend the different floors of the Towers." The Tower Trials is my first attempt at writing.
