《Gods among gods》Chapter 8 - The "aura"

Mikah was deep in thought for a long, long time. He delved into himself and discovered that with his mind, he could observe without seeing. He noticed after much effort that everything was made of the same. If he got down to the tiniest particle, there wasn't much difference between rock, lava, earth, air, or himself. All of existence is made of parts and those parts of smaller ones. There's no difference between the particles at the end in the smallest extract, they were similar to each other.
-"What is existence made of then?"... What is this "aura"?... "Thought"- he answered himself -we are thought, we are parts of a whole created in some way by thought and that same thought is what keeps us being what we are. I already have a part of the puzzle- he thought and wanted to smile... but he couldn't. He couldn't move a muscle or wince. The darkness enveloped everything. He knew somehow that he was trapped in the solidified magma and thus he couldn't move, but he could see without seeing. He could see a new "aura" around him, an "aura" as thin as paper, imperceptible as the flutter of a butterfly's wings, powerful as lava. Still, the fear of being trapped passed through his consciousness, but it was only a breeze. The same existence did not end by being locked up, fear was what brought stillness. Thought, freedom.
Suddenly, the sound of earth moving snapped him out of his trance. He felt himself being pulled towards the surface and upon reaching it, the first face he saw was Deom's.
-Well done, turtle! I knew you'd get it.- Deom said smiling.
Mikah looked at the landscape and saw that it was very different. Lava was no longer dominant. He could see smoking volcanoes in the distance, but the sky was blue and the land was mostly dirt.

Deom watched as the young man's eyes roamed the landscape and said -It's been quite a while since you started this lesson. Here life began on this planet, and here, your new life begins, brother.-
It seemed to Mikah that this Deom was different from before and he was able to notice his "aura" clearly for the first time. It was a thick aura that expanded not just a petal like his, but seemed to encompass everything he could see somehow.
Mikah looked to where the rocks had been found, but they were gone.
-Those rocks have disintegrated long ago. All "rocks" do it.- Deom replied to the question he din't asked.
They walked to the edge of an immense sea that reached as far as the eye could see and sat for a long time in silence.
-Where do you want to go?- said Deom breaking the silence.
"To see her," Mikah answered.
Doem rolled up his eyes -It won't be what you expect, you know.-
-I know, but I have to do it... to continue learning.-

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
