《The Magical Girl Substituting me is...my Uncle?!》Vol.2 - Prologue

It’s the middle of a night in early May…
*Roooaaarr!*
Somewhere in a secluded alleyway, an immense bestial demon, resembling a wolf with two heads and his kin pounces at a certain pair of people.
“Tch!” The young man nimbly dodges to the side as the monster jaws breaks through the electrical pole behind him like it was paper.
“Karasu!” The man shouted as he signaled at the bird circling in the air.
“Got you Partner!” The raven flies at his direction and glows brightly as he starts to change shape. Transforming into a pair of Tonfas, the man grabs the and spins his weapon like a tornado and uses the acceleration to slam against the demon’s face, forcing to instantly crash against the wall more than fifty feet away.
He proceeds to dominate a large amount of his pups in amazing speeds. Like the incarnation of a live cyclone, blowing all of his opponents everywhere.
“Everything ok in your end Bea?” He asks while back to back the knight in a heavy suit of armor and wielding a strange large shield with ‘S’ shaped metal frame in the middle.
“No problem. Their fangs are too weak and frail to pierce through these!” She kicks away the monster trying to gnaw her arm and gauntlet. Following that, she then flings her shield at the group of the demon’s spawn where the other one had landed.
“Flint!” The moment she says this word, the edges of said shield ignites with flames, gaining incredible propulsion as it spins uncontrollably. Almost like a rocket taking flight.
*Crash!*
*Roooaarrrr!*
It was way too fast for the demons to even see the attack coming, let alone dodge. Little remained of the them after her move connected, only leaving behind the shield stuck in the ground, the concrete floor completely shattered.

*Gaoo!!* A large group of Sabretooth tigers on fire hiding in the cover of the night suddenly pounces behind the warrior, who was now unarmed.
“If you think that I’m defenseless just because I don’t have my shield anymore, then think again! Yale! Armonite!” She quickly turns their direction as the jewels on her gauntlets starts glow an incandescent red as it gathers and release enormous amounts of heat and steam pressure.
“Molten Comet! ORA!!!!” Making use of the steam pressure to propel her arms back and forth. she lets out a lighting fast barrage of punches against the beasts, the surrounding temperature spikes significantly with each blow. Her fists started to create so much heat that her surroundings twisted and her enemies reduced to nothing but ashes.
The shockwave of her furious strikes utterly demolished the building more than a hundred feet away and melted two thirds of a car next to her.
*Garrr!!* Angered by the death of his altered offspring, the giant sized wolf gets up, kicks away the debris, howls louder than before as his head show magic circles floating in front of his two mouths. One of the heads then breathes a very cold breath, freezing objects solid while the other releases a stream of electricity, scorching everything, including the few corpses of his kin that had remained.
“Futile…” Crow drops his stance and his Tonfas disappears out of thin air. He then gives one large step back to get into the range of the light given by the lamppost nearby. He performs multiple hand signs at incredible speeds and then reaches one hand at the incoming attack and…
“Grant me your power! Devour my enemies in thy dark luster! Black Viper!”
His shadow suddenly extends, jumps out of the floor and starts to quickly slither like a snake. It devours the bolts and cold alike as it reaches for the demonic beast.

*Roar!!!*
The monster only could whimper helplessly as the he sinks into the bottomless shadow and swallows him whole, leaving nothing of its meal behind. A few seconds later, only solemn silence covered the turbulent night. The shadow then crawls onto the floor once again and return to below his owner’s feet.
The knight then proceeds to removes her helmet, revealing a familiar tomboyish looking girl as she brushes the sweat off her forehead. Her short, amber colored hair was now long, tied in a ponytail, its shade and color a vivid red.
“Phew! All done here! It has been a long time since we last did a mission together! Good thing Karasu set that barrier or else police would already be here by now!”
“Bink’s info has been on incredibly useful and on point so far. We haven’t exterminated this many in a single month since Master’s last mission as the former Valkyrie…”
“Yeah. Although, Bink still hasn’t said anything on the hosts of the Seven Deadly Sins or ‘him’ yet…”
“We can’t complain much since this is only happening because it was Sensei’s idea. We managed to save a lot of people, destroy a bunch of nests and subdue a lot of demons so far. I’ll say we take what we can get. Not to mention the recovery of a lot of artifacts too. Guess we’ll just have to wait for him to come up and say something about it…”
“The two clowns gave a me rundown on how they would like to proceed in case we freed him. Got to admit, I’m starting to that those two might make a good pair after all…” Agnicia seems to ponder about something until…
*Pipipi!*
The cellphone on Crow’s pocket started to ring.
“Hm? Unknown number?”
While suspicious, Crow decides to accept the call and put over his ear.
“Hello?”
“Good evening! Is that you Crow boy?”
“Bink-San? Where in the world did you managed to get a-”
“Don’t worry about that! I’m still behind bars if that’s you are going to ask! It’s too cozy in here for me to even consider leaving…But never mind about that! Put Bea-Chan on the call too! I’ve got great news!”
(Forget the phone. When and how did he even got your number in the first place?) Both Agnicia and Karasu thought to themselves at the same time as Crow puts the call on speaker…
(Actually, never mind. There is one person who comes to mind…)
Somewhere far away from there…
“Achoo! Heh! Someone must be talking about how awesome I am! Either that or I owe someone money again! Bwahaha!” Ero-Sensei sneezes in the teacher’s office and speaks to himself. His grandstanding laughter echoes down the halls of Merry High…

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

The Meaning of Life
It all started with that voice. One day, a slightly psychopathic teenager named Krey heard a voice in his dream. A goddess's request, a new world, the legacies of the Divine realms, the never-ending storms in the world of Salratia. With the carefree thought of "I shall live as I please~!", Krey sets out to begin his 'otaku' dream. But it is not smooth sailing. Troublesome divine entities, mortal politics and the relationship with his new companions. How could he, a former assassin and former odd-jobs part-time high school student worker (not to mention an otaku), a perfect example of a loner (though he himself doesn't seem to realize it) be able to handle this problem? "Ei! Whatever, there's still a few more centuries! I'll go travel the world in peace!" [Author here. This is my first time writing a story in RRL. Criticism is very welcome as long as it is educational and has some tips and bits of advice for me. I am still learning]
