"Listen here, Kyuuto. I just want you to be ready, you will fight the darkness there, yes, but the fact is, you will encounter real people. Real people with real identity, that has lost to them. Some of them, you might be familiar with. In here you might feel you could do anything, but on the battlefield, your courage will tremble," Karito warned me. "Look, Kyuuto. I'm sorry for everything that happened to you. We weren't ready for this to happen," he continued.
"Who's 'we'?" I asked him for details.
"Soon you'll know," he answered briefly, then left me.
Fast forward to six months and a bunch of training later. I felt ready to face the darkness. We were told to be ready at dawn, and take an early rest in our respective rooms. I saw Ishigaki walking to his room from a distance, he looked tired and worried. Maybe he had a bad feeling about the next day.
I tried to sleep as peacefully as possible that night, Karito's words kept going around my thoughts. I can't help but to think about what kind of chaos happened in the city. What kind of enemies will we encounter, and what if both the Jaegers and Oras tremble like what Karito has said?
I overthought what would happen the next day, until I slept, and dreamed about something bizarre. I don't remember my dream well that night, what I remember is that I was in a strange place, white as far as I can see. There's nothing there, no object, no people, nothing. Just plain white into the horizon. I couldn't even tell where the horizon was, because there's nothing that acted as reference points.
Then suddenly, someone appeared. He wore some sort of hooded armor, with dark colors like black, blue, and what looked like dark steel plates. He approached me, and showed me his left hand. He wore the same ring as me.

Could that be my ancestor? The one that Yuukai told, the one without a name and has been forgotten by history? Was that even a 'real dream'? I had so many questions.
Then I woke up around 5 a.m., knowing that that day would be the last time I felt safe in an environment, and that I must head back to the city and take over what's left of it. Yuukai gathered everyone on the main yard, then announced:
"Our mission is to take sector 35, this is the furthest of the city, near the coast. Jaegers will clean the area from the possessed, Oras will seal and evacuate the people, then after the area is cleared, deploy this,"
Yuukai took out a peculiar item, something that looked like a lamp, "This is a zodiac beacon, deploy this on the edges of the area, to prevent the darkness from conquering it once again. Then, call back to the school for extractions. Understood?!"
"Yes, sir!" me and the others yelled back.
Yuukai then put his fist up in the air and cried, "Today is the beginning of our vengeance! We must take what has been taken from us, and make it ours again! This is the point of revenge!! Are you with me?!" he motivated us. Me, and other Jaegers and Oras burst our war cry in return.
"Now, go!! Take back what's ours in the first place!!" Yuukai then pressed a button on his phone, then suddenly the ground was shaking. Behind us, half of the yard was splitting, revealing numerous choppers that were ready to fly. I didn't even know up until this point that the school was insanely rich. Kinda don't want to know where the funds came from though.
As the choppers began to take off, I could see clearly what we were heading towards. Tall, black smoke was seen from the city, a brief light shone from its center, I thought it was an explosion. But we're heading there anyway.
My adrenaline rose, I tightly gripped my zodiac sword, and prayed. I could see the same look in other Jaegers inside my chopper too. Then at that moment, I heard someone whisper, just like father when he saved me, "Don't die,".

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!

A god who was blessed with power and strength like no other was suddenly stripped of his powers. What do you think will happen? Join our God or rather a useless one on a journey to reclaim his powers. By the way this novel is not one of those action based repeats which keep killing people and getting strong. This is a light hearted novel but still has quite a lot of action so ..... ENJOY!

Advent of the Mindfire Mage: A Challenger's Return Story
Updates MWF, 6PM EST! Not so long ago, a story was posted on Webnovel, one that fired my imagination unlike almost anything before or since. It was known as The Challenger's Return: Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage. However, 150 chapters in, the author NightWind, who I'd personally interacted with and begun to consider a true friend, vanished from the internet without a trace. And so, I have acted upon my fervent desire to pick up his torch, to refuse to let his world that stirred such passion in me die. Read below about my own take on The Challenger's Return. Was Lheticus summoned to the Tower by chance, or by choice? Either way, with the new power he wins, he won't hesitate to burn anyone who seeks to keep him from his true love to cinders, and with a unique ability of the highest potential, he may just succeed, but he's just as likely to burn himself down. And as it turns out, the latter case may be woven into his very destiny...can that destiny be changed? And if it is, what will be the repercussions for the Tower? (You may want to read a fair amount of the original Challenger's Return before starting this, as, particularly in the early chapters, many things that are laid out in it are glossed over in this story.)

He ran into her at street theater. She was a force of nature, not a casual first time hire. She brought the house down with her performance, literally pulled the audience to their feet in standing ovation. Her performance was too real, unnerving, deeply unsettling to him. He spent all his energy keeping up with her.At the end of the play, she snatched her earnings from the director's hands and ran away, leaving a trail of questions behind her, the most burning one in his mind was:Would he ever see her again?____________________This ongoing novel imagines a world that our younger generations inherit after a series of successive presidencies in the same vein as the current model. There is no need for erecting walls, as the biggest divide created by humanity - that of social class - takes care of a post modern segregation. The poor are literally marginalized into slum-like townships and tend to be of color. The names of these townships would be enough to tell you their story. The rich, well, remain happily oblivious in the big American cities. In this world find a mysterious girl whose identity must be hidden or she would be hunted down and a young street actor who falls for her intrigue. Discover how they survive, born into a society not prepared to give them a chance. For them, the dystopia came without an apocalypse.
