《Player of Trials》Skin vs Scale

[-20 Qi] [Qi: 150/170]
[-30 MP] [MP: 280/310]
Covering the Tyrfing with his Qi and mana, Leon observed his enemy for a second to see any weak points.
*Whoosh*
As a wind passed between them while kicking up some dust to air, the both sides started running towards each other. Grasping harder at the hilt of Tyrfing with each step he takes, Leon already started to searching a way to kill his enemy before they met. Since his stats are lower than the lizardman, he can't fight with him like he fought with the goblins, so the only way to win this fight is to use his brain, and tricks.
*Step*
With each step, leaving a footstep on the sand underneath them, it doesn't take them long to encounter with each other.
*Clang*
Making a loud sound when both weapons clashed with each other, the impact creates a little shock wave while pushing the air away from them.
*Clang*
*Clang*
Leaving sparks behind, in only two seconds, their weapons meet with the other for twelve times. But even if Leon uses all of his focus and strength, he still hardly blocks spear blows. The strength of his enemy is no joke. Even just a few times of the lizardman's attacks are enough to make Leon's shoulder go numb.
Pushing back Leon with every attack, taking advantage of Leon's slowness, and covering his spearhead with a red mana, the lizardman makes a fast piercing strike with his spear.
'Fuck, this doesn't look good!,' Leon thought when he saw the red glowing spearhead that was coming directly to him.
Before the spear hits his chest, "Activate [LOWER MANA ARMOR]!" Leon commands.
[-150 MP] [MP: 130/310]
[ACTIVATED] [DURABILITY: 100/100]
*Boom*
[-100] [DURABILITY: 0/100]
[-60 HP] [HP: 270/330]
As soon as the lizardman's spear touched the mana armor, annihilates it before opening a scar on his chest, and sends Leon ten meters away.

...
*Ptui*
Standing up again, and spitting out the sand in his mouth, "Hahaha! That really hurt, you bastard!" Leon laughed while blood drip from his chest to the sand.
"Now, let's get a little serious!"
Starting running towards the lizardman, "Don't blame me for what's going to happen, you wanted this. Activate [VENOMOUS STRIKES]!" Leon commanded before the Tyrfing got covered by a green mana.
[-70 MP] [60/310 MP]
[ACTIVATED]
[REMANING TIME MINUTES]
When Leon gets close enough, the lizardman, covering his spearhead with a red mana again, sends another piercing strike.
Seeing this, "Activate [FASTER REFLEXES]," Leon activates another skill before the spear touches him.
[-50 MP] [MP: 0/300]
[ACTIVATED] [REMAINING TIME MINUTE]
[PLAYER'S REFLEXES HAS BEEN %15 STRENGTHENED]
After activating, enabling Leon to see the lizardman's incoming attack much more clearly, the time, suddenly flows slower than usual. But, even if his reflexes got faster, that doesn't mean his body also got faster too. So his body is still too slow to react to such a fast attack. Fortunately, he has a way of overcoming this problem.
[-100 Qi] [Qi: 50/150]
Directing Qi to his whole body and the Tyrfing, Leon's body gained a sudden speed that allowed Leon to dodge the spear.
*Swoosh*
As the spearhead passed Leon with inches, Leon, opening a deep wound, made a spinning attack that aims the lizardman's legs. As blood splashed onto the sand, the lizardman reflexively turned and made another attack. While doing a somersault to avoid the attack, Leon secretly collects some sand from the ground.
After getting away from spear's attack range, looking at the lizard man's leg while blood gushes out from it, "What happened? You don't look well," Leon made fun of.
"Come! Little lizard," Leon provoked.
Even though his wound bleeds, the lizardman runs towards to Leon while leaving blood traces behind.

Raising his spear to land a powerful blow on this annoying insect, the lizardman sends a vertical slash. But unfortunately, in midway through his attack, making him blind for a few seconds, Leon throws sand to his face while dodging his strike.
[-30 Qi] [Qi: 20/170]
By not letting this opportunity slip away, covering the Tyrfing with his Qi, Leon cuts off the hand holding the shield like a paper. Trembling with the effects of [VENOMOUS STRIKE] and the pain, Leon finishes his job by stabbing his sword at the lizardman's throat.
As the lizardman's life drains away with every drop of blood spilled on the ground, Leon pulls out the Tyrfing from his neck. "See? I told you stats mean nothing if you don't know how to use them." Leon said while wiping out the blood on the Tyrfing.
[-20 Qi] [Qi: 0/170]
Stepping on the lizardman's head, "But, I can say that it was a good fight. Farewell!" Leon said as he channelized Qi into his leg before crushing the lizardman's skull.
*Crack*
*Crack*
*Splash*
Completely crushed underneath Leon's foot, the lizardman's brain parts floated on the ground.
'I guess I've been a little too ruthless since I got here,' Leon thought, while looking at the mess he just made.
Stepping back, "Whatever, they are not real people. Also *Yawn* all this fighting tired me," Leon said before the panels appeared.

HUD: Wargame (Sci-Fi GameLit)
★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game. Even war. 18-year-old Nic Sigfried wants the high score. Virtually piloting a real-life robot, he'll face off against his peers with the help of his AI guidance system, RTIFIS. The prize? New worlds across the galaxy that are ripe for human conquest and terraforming. It sounds glamorous on paper, but this job might be more dangerous than he thought... HUD: Wargame is the first of a five-part sci-fi series featuring GameLit elements. HUD: Wargame contains some (simulated) violence and very sparing PG-13 profanity. Updates Monday-Thursday-Saturday.
