《Path of the Conqueror》Prologue -1

Everything in the world serves a purpose. It is everyone's journey to complete the cycle of life and fulfil their destiny. Many accomplish great things in their journey and some even lose their lives but go forgotten with time. Then some write their name in history in such a way that they are remembered for coming millennia for their achievements.
In the world of billions of myriad planes with an uncountable number of races. There are two types of people, one who conquer and the others who get conquered. The world is so vast hiding many secrets that even gods don't know, carrying unbelievable legends and infinite possibilities.
A world of planes which are powerful, vast, beautiful, dangerous and many more with not enough words to describe them. The more you know the more mysterious it gets. At the start and end of everything, the chaos is one which never has revealed itself.
In this immeasurable world, a plane where a night lightened by a golden moon. In a beautiful city surrounded by walls with exquisite buildings and monuments. A city of art. At the centre of the city stands a magnificent castle which looked mesmerising as its marble reflected the golden moonlight.
"Aaaa....aaaa"
A woman's screaming voice was coming from one of the rooms in the castle. A room with not much decoration but simple and elegant. The woman was giving birth to the baby. Three young maids by her side. An old man was standing afar leaning against the wall.
"It's going to be okay, just push.. and take a deep breath."
"Be strong... take a deep breath."
Soon the voice of the baby crying echoed in the room. The woman fell asleep as she heard her baby's voice. A maid cut off veins and cleaned the baby's body with a wet towel. The man that was leaning against the wall walked up to the maid who was carrying the baby.

"It's a girl, Prophet Janahisa."
The man's expression remains unchanged. He observed the baby girl. She had crimson eyes and a look of curiosity. One could guess by seeing her face that she would grow into a beautiful woman. The prophet started chanting some spells to observe her bloodline. She carried the bloodline of one of the Nine Mystic Beasts, The Chaos Beast.
It was the bloodline of the royal family. But it has been diluted with time. But the baby girl's bloodline was so pure that even the late emperors didn't have this pure bloodline. The prophet called a squad of mages. In minutes, ten mages were standing in the room.
The Prophet prepared for a ceremony to make a prophecy. The prophet closed his eyes and started muttering something in an ancient tongue. After a few seconds passed, all ten fell to the ground with blood gushing out from their mouths nostrils and ears. This was the cost to be paid for the prophecy. They died as their life force burned down as fuel for the ritual.
The prophet opened his eyes with a sigh. Maids looked shocking toward the dead mages. All their life it's always been told that mages are symbols of power. But ten mages dying like that, they couldn't come to accept the reality.
"Cough..Cough... Tell the Royal Guard Captain to inform His Excellency that Janahisa has made a prophecy, it's urgent...Cough.. tell me I don't have much time. Go now."
Prophet was coughing blood. Maids realised the urgency of the matter. One maid got left the room to deliver the message. She pulled up her dress and ran to Captain's room.
A few minutes later, the maid came back accompanying two men. The man at the front was the Emperor, he had a good physique, orange eyes, aged looks and a dominating aura wearing simple pants and a see-through robe. The other man was wearing full black armour just his brown eyes were visible.

"His Excellency, I need to talk to you alone. My life force is almost finished, I will in an hour or so."
Emperor waved his hand, the maids placed the baby on the bed and exited the room followed by the Royal Guard Captain. Emperor then took out a vial of golden liquid from his spatial ring.
"Here, take it"
"My Lord, this... this is the nectar of life. I can't take this, it's too precious for someone like me."
"Just take it, it will at least grant twenty years to you."
Prophet took the vial with trembling hands and gulped it down in one go.
"So, what prophecy did you make?"
"My Lord, the child is blessed by the chaos beast. She has a very pure bloodline. She will give birth to a very powerful hier. This prophecy took a huge toll, all ten grand mages died. My Lord, we shouldn't let anything happen to her. The royal bloodline is on the decline. Your other children are below average, other than Prince Henis. Royal Family requires a pure-blood descendent."
"Yeah, I very well know about the situation, you don't have to brief me."
"Apologies for my words, my lord."
"Go, but take care next time, I won't be forgiving. Don't divulge anything about prophecy."
Prophet bowed to him and left the room. Emperor walked up to the sleeping woman and the child. He observed both of them for a while before sitting on the bed. He caressed the cheeks of the sleeping woman.
"Selis, well at least one of my women did something good other than warming my bed."
He looked at the child. He recalled the prophet's words. Prophet was indeed true. His good-for-nothing children had been plotting against him. He has always ignored them. They were gathering support from the nobles. But the old noble household knew better than to offend the emperor when he still had many years left to make them pay.
He has been ignoring all this because he didn't have any good inheritor of him. So, he had to consider every possibility. But now this child has eliminated most of his worries. And the prophecy of the Royal Prophet had never been wrong, especially which consumed the life force of ten great mages.
Now he could give those rebellious bastards a good beating. He grabbed the baby girl with both hands and held her high in the air.
"Your brothers and sisters have been very naughty, they need a spanking, right?"
He put her on the bed and left the room. Maids were standing outside the room with the guard Captain. Emperor ordered Captain to shift Selis and her daughter to a better room and make sure they are provided with every need. And dispose of the bodies of mages. He looked at the maids, he then asked maids to accompany him to his room.
After a while, moans and screams could be heard coming out from the room of the emperor but no one bothered to enquire.
The next day, many heads rolled on the ground. It was a clear message to all those who had any funny thoughts about the throne, that it was off-limits while the Emperor is still alive.

No matter what, their choices will bring forth a new era for Mendala. ------------------------------ If you love vast fantasy worlds, rich, fleshed-out characters, and a adventure where your'e constantly discovering new things along the way, then this is definitely a story you'll enjoy. This is a slow-burn high fantasy / adventure with many characters and intersecting plotlines. It’s a quest so lots of adventuring, exploring, and character moments, but not a ton of fighting/action (though there are definitely some great fight scenes as payoff to the buildup). Because it’s a fantasy world with lots of people and new concepts, I try to make it easy so that you don’t have to memorize anything. The narrative will constantly remind you of important people/places/concepts as you keep moving forward. Some things won’t be fully explained right at the beginning to avoid information overload. My goal is that the reader will learn things organically as the story progresses. I use two mechanisms to help with the intersecting plotlines. - Each chapter is named for the (main) plotline it’s following and which part. - At the beginning of the chapter, and anytime there is a scene shift, the location is listed. Also, though this is definitely a portal-fantasy (isekai) it’s different from the standard isekai, especially since the world transfer doesn’t happen immediately. It’s not Lit-RPG but characters gain powers and grow over time. Also, it’s a group of teens that transfer, not just one central character. All of the teens are distinct characters, with their own character-arcs, relationships, powers, growth etc. Hopefully you’ll find this interesting as you’ll see the world and story from multiple perspectives. The story is always in 3rd Person (Omniscient) POV so that it’s not jarring as perspectives shift.
