Calvin and Itsuki kept exchanging blocks with their weapons as Ci and Gavolt kept firing ice and fire magic at each other. Finally, Itsuki jumped away from Calvin and huffed a bit.

Calvin: Not bad, kid, but not enough to beat me!

Itsuki: That’s what you think!

Calvin raised his hand to the air as a dragon made of magic appeared.

Itsuki: W-What in the hell?!

Calvin: Enchantable summonings, something only higher-skilled Mages would know!

Calvin sent the dragon at Itsuki, enchanting it with nothing. Itsuki used a Pyroball on it, and it caused it to fuse with the dragon, hitting Itsuki with its body and returning to Calvin.

Akeru: Itsuki! Be more careful!

Itsuki: I know! I don’t need you telling me!

Gavolt: It seems like he isn’t doing too well…

Ci: Focus on the Witch, why don’t you?

Gavolt looked up to see a giant ice spike heading down towards him. He used his Gravity magic to shift it around him into the ground.

Gavolt: Fair point…

Calvin sent the fire dragon back to Itsuki, who used Wave on it, but Calvin smirked and fired the Pyroball at him as the dragon absorbed the Wave. Itsuki dodged as the dragon curled around Itsuki tightly to try and drown him.

Itsuki: This is embarrassing! I can’t just use spells on him like normal…I have to think of something else!

Itsuki quickly tried to use Chill, but the dragon released Wave and absorbed the Chill, now freezing Itsuki.

Calvin: You damn sinner…you are entirely trapped! No matter what you do, I can have that dragon absorb it!

Itsuki: I-I-I-Is that so?

Itsuki thought carefully about his next move. He noticed earlier that Chill would make the dragon solid, while Wave made it not solid…same as Pyroball.

Itsuki: Pyro!

Calvin laughed at him as Itsuki got hit by ice bullets on the inside as the dragon’s state turned to normal. He smirked and used Conversion to turn the Pyro into Galewind as soon as it left his hand, turning it into a wind dragon. Itsuki got scratched up, but he was able to fall through the dragon.

Calvin: What?!

Gavolt: What a fool…

Ci: Less talking, more fighting!

Ci kept summoning ice spikes at him as Gavolt used Gravity to avoid them, sending them usually towards other AWF members.

Ci: You coward…killing your men?

Gavolt: If they can’t dodge…they are no use to me…

Itsuki got up and summoned his katana again, wiping a bit of blood from his face where he got scratched.

Calvin: You think that is enough to stop me? I’m a Sapphire, remember? You have no chance-

Itsuki: You’re an idiot if you think a Rank matters, same with the Grade of spell you use.

Calvin: Huh??

Itsuki: Let me show you an example that my teacher taught me…Gale!

Itsuki shot a Gale at Calvin, who was ready to block it with his trident.

Calvin: A Grade 1 spell? Do you think a tiny little wind slice will hurt me?!

Itsuki just stood there as the Gale went flying past Calvin. Calvin just started laughing hysterically at him.

Calvin: You missed it! You are such an amateur!

Itsuki: Did I miss?

Calvin turned to see the tower behind him, sliced into several pieces with just one wind slice.

Calvin: What the hell?!

Gavolt: Impressive…

Akeru: He really did that with just one?

Itsuki: Like I said, did I miss?

Calvin: You think that gives you the advantage?! Gale Dragon, after him!

The dragon roared and flew towards Itsuki, who just held his katana towards it.

Itsuki: I have to get rid of this dragon somehow…but how?!

His eyes widened a bit as he remembered a spell. Itsuki gets in a stance and waits for the dragon.

Itsuki: Hope this works…Shade!

Calvin released the Gale and absorbed the Shade. Itsuki breathed heavily and snapped his fingers.

Itsuki: I’ll show you a higher spell then…Luminsa!

Itsuki summoned five swords made up of light around him. Calvin just rose his eyebrow as Itsuki shook his head.

Itsuki: It’s a Grade 3 spell…an evolution of Lite.

Calvin: A Grade 3? Then the dragon will absorb it; after all…sinners shouldn’t have the light on their side!

The dragon continues to charge at Itsuki as 3 of the swords stab into the dragon, erasing it.

Calvin: Impossible!

Itsuki: I chose Shade for a reason…if I used Dim, my plan wouldn’t work. You can’t release darkness as a projectile as you could the other spells!

Calvin: B-B-But I did release it- No, you’re saying that-!

Itsuki: Exactly, once it released…it reabsorbed it before my swords pierced it. We also all know… that light will destroy darkness!!

The dragon entirely fades as the three swords fade. Itsuki sent the other two flying at Calvin, who blocked them with his trident. But as he does, Itsuki uses Conversion as turned them into Chill, freezing Calvin’s hands to his trident.

Itsuki: Now you can’t cast your spell!

Calvin: Men! Use Pyro on me quick!

Calvin looked to see all their men were dead due to Gavolt, who was still dodging Ci’s attacks.

Calvin: Y-Y-You killed all of our men?!

Itsuki: Good thing, I kind of forgot about them…

Calvin rushed at Itsuki with his trident as Itsuki blocked his attack with his katana. Ci stopped firing her ice spikes at Gavolt as she floated in the air, summoning her cup of tea and sipping from it.

Gavolt: You finally give up…?

Ci: Just taking a break. Is that alright with you, heathen?

Gavolt shook his head and sat on the ground, watching Calvin and Itsuki fight.

Gavolt: Let me guess… Are you going to suggest a retreat?

Ci: You will be the only one left after this…I’m feeling generous today.

Gavolt: To leave behind a member of the Federation that is hunting you down…? What a dumb idea…

Calvin keeps trying to his Itsuki with his trident, getting frustrated.

Calvin: Let! Me! Hit! You! Damnit!!!

Itsuki: Sapphire Ranks must be given out often if you got one…

Calvin: Shut it!!!

Itsuki glared and cut off both of Calvin’s arms in one slice.

Calvin: My arms!!!

Itsuki: Do you remember their names…?

Calvin: W-W-Whose names?!

Itsuki: The people in that village two months ago! Tell me their names! All of the people you killed! All of the people who “sinned” by wanting protection!!

Calvin: I-I-I-

Itsuki grabbed him by the neck and tightened his grip.

Itsuki: Tell me their names!!!

Calvin: I-I-I don’t remember!

Itsuki cut off his armor with several slices, revealing the man in regular clothing.

Itsuki: You are a disgrace! Not only as a Mage…but as a human being!

Itsuki did it; he cut Calvin’s head clean as he whispered to himself.

Itsuki: Matsuri…Himari…I know you wouldn’t want me to have killed him…but…I needed redemption for letting you both down… I’m sorry.

Calvin’s body fell over as Itsuki glared at Gavolt, who stood up slowly.

Gavolt: Yeah yeah, I get it…

Itsuki: Why are you not upset?!

Gavolt: You think I liked him…? You did me a favor killing him…

Itsuki rushed at him, but Ci stood in his way.

Ci: Boy…don’t try it; he is a different breed than what you just fought.

Gavolt: If we are done here…I got a lot of paperwork since all of my men here are dead…

Gavolt started to walk away as Ci undid Akeru’s ice barrier. Itsuki kept trying to chase him, but Ci held his arm tight.

Itsuki: We can’t just let him leave!

Ci: I told you, he is different.

Itsuki: But you are a Witch! You can-

Ci: He was holding back his true power with me…

Itsuki: What?

Ci: You heard me; he was holding back his magic. He never intended to fight truly.

Akeru: T-Then why did he even waste his time?!

Ci: My guess…to gauge our power…my power.

Itsuki: So what should we do then?

Akeru: You need to heal up! You are injured, Itsuki!

Ci let go of his arm as he collapsed to the ground. He tried standing up, but Ci just shook her head.

Ci: She is right… that dragon badly injured you.

Ci summoned up a bunch of medical supplies and looked at him.

Ci: Take off your clothes.

Itsuki: W-W-What?!

Ci: I need to look at your wounds; you can keep your undergarments on.

Itsuki: No way-

Ci sighed and held him down, stripping him as Akeru watched, blushing slightly. Ci treated him as best as she could and got rid of the supplies, summoning a small ice throne that floats in the air and putting Itsuki on it. Itsuki put his clothes back on and was blushing a lot.

Akeru: A-A-Anyways…what is our next move?

Ci: To get what you came to this island for.

Ci started walking and forcing the ice throne to follow her. Akeru followed her quickly and walked side by side with her.

Akeru: B-But I thought you said you didn’t know where it was?!
