Chapter 25: A Date (Part 2)

Rigen's perspective

It seemed like Reimi has behaved very oddly at the time she looked at the letter, but I wondered why she did that? Those two lines near the end of the letter were the codes or something like that?

"Reimi! What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm fine! I'm fine so, I'm kind of hungry, Sir Rigen! I'll go to the kitchen to help Milch for preparing breakfast right away!" - Reimi said to me like that then she ran into the kitchen in a hurry

This girl definitely has something wants to hide from me, for sure! But maybe I should not ask Reimi more about this, she seemed a bit tense after seeing the letter. Maybe her Princess was so angry at her when she didn't hear any news about my return.

Then I ignored that problem then went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, this world has no toothbrush so I have to use a cloth which is supposed to be used to clean the furniture to brush my teeth. That was gross, actually! I also have to clean that cloth by dipping it into the water after brushing my teeth.

Sigh! Seemed like I have done brushing my teeth, I went right away to the kitchen where Milch, her daughter and Reimi were making breakfast. When I got into the kitchen, I have nothing to say about this, there was a mess over there, food spilled everywhere!

Well, seemed like the one who cause this was Reimi, you damn muscle-brain! She was now standing in a corner, seemed very regretted, she went silent for very long. Milch and Erissen were now cleaning the mess Reimi made up, they seemed a little bit frustrated, but they didn't show that emotion to Reimi.

"Milch, what's wrong? I see food spilled everywhere!"

"Sir Rigen, please tell your friend to stay away from any activity that needs to use the brain, she told me she wanted to help so I let her bring some of the dishes to the table."

"But the way she move was so carelessly so she messed everything up, she spilled the food down here!" - Milch said to me while expressing a frustrated face

"Papa! Tell that woman that we need no help from housework, I just need her to stand around the inn and guard, that's all!" - Erissen complained to me

"Do you need my help, Milch?"

"No, Sir Rigen! I just need you to keep an eye on your friend!"

Then I made a nod then walked to Reimi, that girl looked at me, her face wanted to tell me something.

"Sir Rigen, I-" - Reimi's voice seemed a little bit trembling

"That's okay! That's okay! We're all useless at something in life, don't feel shame because of that."

"But I feel I only useful at fighting!"

"Then that's what you good at! Try to promote it!"

"But what can I do?"

"Sigh! Just like I said, you do the guard, just go around the inn like you are guarding."

"I'm understood, Sir Rigen! I will do my best!" - Reimi said that to me and then started walking outside

I saw her walking around, she went all around the rooms then after checking everything, she went upstairs while keeping a cautious face. Did I just make a wrong move on her?

"Reimi, remember not to touch anything!"

"Understood, Sir Rigen!" - Reimi said aloud to me

Then I went to help Milch and Erissen to clean the mess on the floor, it was quite long but after cleaning that mess, we managed to prepare breakfast successfully.

Reimi after a long walk for the patrol, stood inside the kitchen, did nothing but stand there to guard, seemed like she could prove herself useful to those two mother and daughter.

Then we got into the breakfast, Milch's cook skill was very good, actually! We were now enjoying the meal, I ate so much so my stomach has been full.

After my meal, I looked around the inn, this place was not that bad, I thought if Milch sells this building then she will earn a lot of money for it. But where will she and her daughter go after the selling, I can come to Mentor's place to ask him to let me stay, but what's about them?

"Sir Rigen!" - Milch suddenly called me, she hasn't done her meal yet

"Oh, Milch, what's wrong?"

"About the job I want to find!"

"Oh, I'm sorry! I don't really notice about it, I'm kind of busy today so I will help you to find a new job tomorrow, alright?"

"That's not what I want to say, Sir Rigen! I just..." - Milch seemed a bit hesitate

"I mean, we will move out from this place in a few weeks!" - Milch took all of her confidence to say to me

"What?"

"I have made up my mind that previous night, I and my daughter will move out to Kingdom of Warsaw, with the money you gave me, Sir Rigen."

"We will manage to buy a small house there, also the value of an Atta coin is bigger than a Gel coin so Eris will have a chance to get school, I will find a job with a fine salary when I got there, I will work hard for my daughter's future!" - Milch said to me with a strong voice

"Mama, I don't have anything against your purpose but, we will be far away from uncle Rer?" - Erissen told her mom to hold off her plan

"Sorry my sweetheart, but we have to say goodbye to him!"

"No! I just have met him again yesterday, I really want to say goodbye to uncle Rer before I go!" - Erissen seemed about to cry

"By the way you say, Milch! Ugh ugh! Now I have noticed a thing, this has no customers but only Sir Rigen, your business here not successful?" - Reimi asked Milch while drinking water

"This's not your business, Reimi! Hurry up done eating your meal!"

"I'm sorry...Sir Rigen!" - Reimi then started eating again

"Sir Rigen, can we have a private talk?" - Milch asked me

"I hope I won't annoy you, my sweetheart! But please can you clean the dishes for me?"

"Just let me do that, mama! But please! If I have to leave this place, I want to say goodbye to uncle Rer!" - Erissen looking forward to it

Then I went with Milch up to my room, after going to my room, Milch stared at me for a while then spoke a word.

"Sir Rigen, we will move out at the time you left the inn, it will be quite long, near a month but we won't let you have nowhere to stay, I will do my best to serve you until that time!"

"And also one thing, Rer is Erissen's father!" - Milch suddenly said to me a shocking news

"What?"

"I know Rer is a noble but he didn't tell me what was his real name, I was a slave back then but he bought me, he was very different from other masters, he treated me like a part of his family!"

"Not just that, he also taught me to do Healing magic, I was a Healer in this town back then, but I was raped many times by men that fake their illness."

"I got pregnant a lot of children because of that, I left them all!"

"Rer sometimes returned to teach me new things about Healing magic, but I was in love with him so we hand to hand, stepped on our path together!"

"After he knew that I got raped, he bought this brothel then turned it into an inn, this place was cheap to buy so I can do the business on my own. Then Rer moved out with me, we lived together like a family, I later got birth to Eris but Rer never said he would allow her as his child."

"He was kind, he didn't live with Eris as her dad but her uncle, but Rer had many busy things to do back in his homeland so he always left us and came back here on very rare occasions. The business about the inn was not so favorable, so I had to become a prostitute all the times he left to earn money from strangers!"

"After 4 years given birth Eris, Rer suddenly left us, I don't know why, but he sometimes comes back here with cautious, he always brings us money though the amount is not much."

"The last time Rer came back here before this recent incident was 3 years ago!" - Milch seemed to have done her talk

"I know the purpose of the first part you said to me, what's about the second part about Mentor? I don't get it!"

"I have a little hate against Rer, but that does not mean I hate him much, I don't want to say goodbye to him. I just want you, Sir Rigen to be a friend to comfort my daughter."

"I really want you to stay with her in the last days staying here!" - Milch asked me with a deep voice

"I will do my best, Milch! But don't count on me so much!"

"Thank you, Sir Rigen!"

Then we went downstairs, Reimi has already done eating her meal, she was now standing at the inn's door, about to go outside with me.

"Sir Rigen, can you please lead Rer back here again? My daughter really wants to say goodbye to him, or you can lead my daughter to his place instead!" - Milch whispered to me

"I'll do that, Milch, just give me time, I don't have time today!"

Then I and Reimi walked outside the inn to get to Adventurer's Guild, Milch and Erissen had waving their hands to say goodbye to us before we go.

My head was now full of things to do, I have to get to the Adventurer's Guild right away, at least to find a quest to do or to find the one who is about to have a date with me. On the way we go to the Adventurer's Guild, I saw a man with tattered clothes, that man was Mentor, but once again he hasn't changed his clothing style at all.

But there was a thing that I noticed the most, Mentor was following behind a man dressed in a red military outfit who looked very wealthy, he was secured by his two guards who were now walking before him. Mentor seemed like aiming for something under that man's belt.

Wait! I saw it, Mentor was aiming at a thing that looked like a letter which was now placed under that man's belt, Mentor later stole it fastly then replaced the letter with another empty paper that he brought with him.

Mentor fastly hid that letter in his clothes, then he slowly went away from that man but seemed like his feet touched that man's feet while turning around.

"You filthy homeless dare to walk alongside me! Your clothes touched my new outfit, that was so disgusting!" - That man then shook Mentor away

Mentor then fell to the ground, he slowly raised his head to that man, and stared at him while holding both of his hands as if to beg him for forgiveness.

"You rich man, I know my guilt! Please forgive me!" - Mentor held both his hands while begging that red clothes man for the forgiveness

"Letting you live then my reputation will be stained, guards! Kill him!" - That man ordered his guard

"Hey, what the hell do you think you are gonna do! Just spare this old man!" - I immediately ran to Mentor

My sword is already drawn, I pointed at those two guards while standing before Mentor to protect him, those two guards' swords were also drawn, they suddenly charged at me without a word.

Reimi's perspective

Sir Rigen was defending Lerer against those two guards, they suddenly charged at him, I was about to draw my sword and join the fight but.

Seemed like I don't need to join now!

Rigen's perspective

"Please stop fighting, please don't make violent!" - Mentor said to those guards

Dammit! I was about to test my sword skill again those soldiers but seemed like Mentor broke all of it, he suddenly held both of my hands as if to stop the fight but he has diverted my sword strikes somehow to those guards.

My sword was now waving around against my will, I cannot control it, because Mentor was the man who controlled it, he held both my hands that were holding the sword and swinging around the guards. I saw they have been wounded slightly, but they were wearing armors, they kept coming but were then stopped by Mentor's sword moves.

"Please stop violent! Please stop violent!" - Mentor kept saying though he was the man who started this

I will nominate you for an Oscar for the best actor if I can return to my world.

Then after a few times swinging the swords, the guards seemed very exhausted.

"Please, young man! Please spare them for me!" - Mentor said to me

"Excuse me?"

"Hey, this young man has accepted to spare you people, please go away, I don't want to see more violent!" - Mentor said loud to that red clothes man and his guards

"You! I will kill you next time if I see you again! Guards, we are in rush now, go before we late!" - That red clothes man shouted to his guards then ran away

Then after that man and his guards had gone away, I noticed that many people had gathered to see the fight, they were now dismissing because the fight for them to watch has over.

"Thank you, young man! I'm in debt to you a lot!" - Mentor thanked me, but please can you stop acting

"Hey! I need you over here a little bit!"

Then I and Reimi grabbed Mentor's collar then led him to a nearby alley.

"What the hell were you doing, Mentor?"

"Oh! Just my own business!" - Mentor said to me casually

"Seems like my disciple is here, that's a good thing to see!"

"Hey, my disciple! Take this letter and bring it to Her Highness, I want her to investigate the people on this list!" - Mentor then raised the letter which he stole from that red clothes man earlier to Reimi

"What's this?" - Reimi asked Mentor

"That list contains the vassals from Warsaw Kingdom and the people from Attenta Kingdom who were involved in that earlier coup!"

"What? Attenta Kingdom also involved this, that Kingdom is friendly to ours, why did they?" - Reimi seemed a little shocked

"The man who I followed earlier is a spy from Attenta Kingdom, he is now staying in this town to do the spy against Jager Kingdom, that man is also on the list of the people who joined the coup!" - Mentor explained to us

"How did you get that information, Mentor?"

"You don't need to ask, John! Seem like you two are having your problems."

"Hey, Mentor! Milch and Eris are about to move out of this town, Eris wants to say goodbye to you, why don't you pay a visit to her?"

"What? Do they really want to move out? But that's their choice, I hope Eris will have a good future after that! Of course, I will visit Eris right away!"

"My disciple! When you get back Warsaw Kingdom, please hand the letter to Her Highness!" - Mentor talked to us then suddenly ran away before we could make a talk

Reimi was also curious about what Mentor said but then she kept the letter, she said to me that she would return to Warsaw Kingdom the following day. After that we all together went to the Adventurer's Guild, at the time when we nearly got to the Guild's door, there was a slim girl appeared who wore a blue dress standing near the door.

Oh! Seemed like that girl was Cily, she was so beautiful, I thought! So this is the girl that I was supposed to date this weekend, huh?

So Cily would be my next target after Milch, she didn't look so pretty, but not bad at all!

Seemed like Cily saw us, she happily ran toward me.

"Sir John! I was waiting for you the whole morning, you know? I will show...you...the place..............." - Cily suddenly stopped, she stared at me then stared at Reimi

"Sir John, who is that woman standing next to you?"

"Is she...your....fiancee?"

I was about to explain to Cily but that girl later cried then ran away from us, seemed like she has jealous when seeing me and Reimi going together, what a misunderstanding.

"What's wrong with that woman, Sir Rigen?" - Reimi asked me

"Reimi! I should have told you to stay inside the inn, you just broke my date with Cily!"

"That woman is your fiancee?" - Reimi asked me, she seemed a bit shocked

"No! She just told me to have a date because she wanted to thank me for a quest I have done for her!"

Damn, my mind was about to think of many strategies to get Cily in bed with me but! Let's forget it, change the direction to Reimi instead!

"Let's head back to the inn, Reimi! We have done our day here!"

Then we got back to the inn, somehow when I stepped in, I have seen Erissen, that little girl was crying a lot. Seemed like Mentor had visited his daughter to hear her say goodbye to him, Mentor must have left in a hurry.

Then, I stayed inside the inn the whole day, I was trying to comfort Erissen but seemed like that little girl told me to leave her alone, I hoped could make her happy again somehow. I have practiced swordfight with Reimi in my room, though the room was quite narrow but we managed to finish the practice.

About the dinner, seemed like dinner was very quiet, I cannot eat my meal fully every time I saw Erissen, she also cried during dinner. After dinner, I went inside my room right away, my mind was full of sorrow every time I think about Erissen.

"Knock! knock!" - I heard two knocks coming outside my room's door

"Who's that?"

"It's me, Sir Rigen!" - Oh, that was Reimi

"Coming in!"

"I'm very sorry for disturbing you, Sir Rigen! I just forgot to take back my money bag at the horse keep. Can you please share your room with me tonight, Sir Rigen?" - Reimi begged me, she seemed very serious about this

"Why don't you ask Milch or Eris?"

"Milch said I can only stay with you, Sir Rigen! About Eris, she didn't want me to stay in her room!"

"You don't even bring a pillow or a bedsheet with you!"

"I'm sorry for my uselessness! I wil-"

"No need! I can share my bed with you!"

It might be a good time for me to regain my mood! Or at least!

"Sir Rigen...about the shared bed...I think you should do that with your wife or your fiancee!"

"What the hell you were thinking, Reimi? Share bed is very normal, we are friends so we need to help each other!"

"About the fiancee thing, let me say clearly, I don't have any wife or fiancee, I'm still single!"

Then Reimi seemed a bit surprised at what I told her, she stood dazed a little bit then slowly stepped to the bed, sitting next to me, her face was a bit red right now.

"Reimi, you remember what I told you last night, about the making baby?"

"I'm sorry, Sir Rigen! I think we should hold off it, I must have Her Highness's permission for doing that!" - Reimi tried to decline me

Dammit! I was about to lose control!

Then I lay on the bed, I was about to sleep but I cannot sleep, my mind seemed to have a bit stressed, Erissen is now sad, and I don't even have a sweet date with Cily, dammit!

"Hey, Reimi! What are you doing?" - Reimi when she was also lying on the bed with me suddenly hugged me

"Her Highness said to me if I do this act, I can comfort someone!"

Well! Seemed like I have no one to hook up with but there is one here to comfort me, not bad!

"Hug me tighter, Reimi!"

Then Reimi did what I told her, well! Being hugged by beauty was not so bad, but seemed like the way she hugged me like that was a nightmare, some of my ribs were about to break.

"Just hug me like earlier, Reimi! I don't need you to hug me tighter!"

"Sir Rigen!" - Reimi asked me

"What?"

"May I ask you? How old are you really, Sir Rigen?"

"25!"

"Your face looks older than your age, Sir Rigen! I think that's the reason is caused by your full beard, why did you grow your beard so much like that?" - Reimi asked me about my beard, it was quite easy to answer

"A police officer told me to grow my beard, he said I would be more handsome with it."

"What's a police, Sir Rigen?"

"You can consider him as a guard in your place."

"That's so? Anyway...good night, Sir Rigen!" - Reimi said goodbye to me

"You too, Reimi!"

Then I tried to sleep, but seemed like I cannot sleep so easily like that, how can you be able to sleep with a girl that lying next to you? Reimi might also felt the same as me. Well! What's a terrible day, a little girl that sad but you cannot comfort her. You can't even bring the woman you know about to "sleep" in bed with you.

But anyway, the way Reimi was sleeping alongside me now can be said as half successful, though she was not really "sleeping" with me but.

I think I should clear those things out of my mind! There are a lot of things for you to do in your life more than just thinking about girls and stuff you are about to do with them.

Reimi would return back Warsaw Kingdom tomorrow, maybe I will give her my dog tag as a present, I don't think I need it anymore. But what should I do tomorrow?

Let see! Comfort Erissen, then saying sorry to Cily, I will be able to learn swordsmanship with Mentor tomorrow. I will take a day off to not take any quest from Adventurer's Guild.

Okay! Seemed like my plan has already been made up, let's have a sleep till tomorrow.
