《Kain, The Apocalypse Overlord》Chapter 5 | Shopping

Kain: Oh, see. There it is.
Bang
Maria seeing him retract the knife, breathed out in relief, but maintained her expression of anger even when Kain turned around that left his back open towards her.
However, she was wrong in her assumption that she had managed to scare or intimidate the young man away, since his figure began to twist and deform in a weird way before she felt an agonizing pain and force hitting her from the side, throwing her against the bed, that was to the side.
Maria: AAR----
She couldn't even scream out of pain and surprise, when a silver glint flashed right in front of her eyes. Calming herself down and looking more clearly at the 'thing', inches away of her face, it was the knife Kain had been playing it, still trembling with the edge stuck in the wooden board of the king-size bed, where she slept everyday.
Kain: You either kneel in front of me now. Or I will kill your lamb right now, and do the same to the redhead.
Maria: ….
Kain: ….
Silence permeated the main bedroom of the house. The mature blonde was tearing up while sobbing as her voice was barely audible.
Maria: W-why? W-what did w-we do to y-you?
Kain: Hmph
He gave no answer to her plead, but a scoff while he turned around and walked to the door. It wasn't a matter of revenge or retribution, but a matter of survival and leverage.
In fact, if it wasn't for the fact of him learning of her tremendous love for her daughters, through her 'Profile', he doubt it very seriously he would learn this early on or know of it at all.
This was because of how broken the relationships between her and her two daughters were.
Laura. They had fallen apart when she had learned of her tastes and decision of not pursuing college, like she wanted.
As for Amy. The youngest daughter hated her guts for dumping her father and choosing Jack.
It's amazing how stress and misleading information can lead to such results.
Maria seeing him walking away and a glint, like the one she had seen in the entrance, emerging through his, moving, left sleeve, her mind ceased all functions as she rushed, on all fours, to the door and blocked his path before prostrating herself to him.
The sight of such voluptuous woman performing this kind of pose would immediately awaken the little brothers of any man, even Kain wasn't an exception to this. Maria was too much of a bombshell for him to continue to resist her.
Breathing in and out to calm himself, while thinking of the most unappealing things he could come up with, to settle down his boner, he crouched down next to the head of Maria.
Kain: See? Was it so hard?
Maria: ….
Silence was the answer to him as the mature blonde maintained her pose, with her huge ass sticking out together with the sight of her huge mountains squashed, on the wooden floor, and going to the sides.
Kain: I know why you don't fight back. It's because of the fucker.
Lifting her head, by pulling her chin with his hand, Kain looked straight into the emerald eyes.
Kain: I can help you far more than him. I can even help you achieve what you want from this marriage. Your daughters in college and a good life.
Maria: H....how do you--
Kain: --know? It's easy. A simple guess while your expression confirmed it.
…..
Kain: I love playing with you but the little lamb is still waiting for us, and we don't want her to find us in this situation. Would we?
Maria: Oh! No.
Maria suddenly remembered that her daughter was waiting for the two of them. That was how stressful and worrying the situation she was in.
Kain: By the way, you are going to accompany the two of us today. I know that you don't trust me and even hate me, with good reasons.
Standing by the door, Kain stopped in his place and spoke.
Kain: Even then you should choose your battles, as some may be beneficial to you.
It didn't take long for Maria to reach her car where the two step-siblings were chatting happily about some something called Marvel and DC.
Maria: You ready to go?
Laura: Yes.
Laura was smiling all over the place at the prospect of shopping with a friend and her mother. Maria felt her heart pain a little at that, it had been a long time since she had seen her smile and be happy like that.
[15 minutes later] [Shopping Center]
Maria: We are here.
Laura that was immersed in her conversation with Kain, failed to noticed that they had arrived at the shopping center.
It was huge building with numerous signs all over the place. Numerous peons were coming in and going out of the said building, even today, a school day.
Laura: Oh, thank you mom. Let's go Kain.
Laura rapidly went out of the car and rushed, like a little girl, at the entrance of the big building composed mostly of panels and glass, giving it a modern look.
Kain: Let's go, Maria.
Still smiling Kain put his hand on the mature blonde' right shoulder and squeezed it, with his hand making its way towards her throat.
Kain: Like I said before. You may not trust me, but you should choose your battles. Wisely.
Maria said nothing in response. She just stood there, while his hand moved towards her right breast.
Kain: I can be your biggest ally or your worst enemy. Who do you want me to be is up to you.
Retracting his hand back, Kain pushed himself of his seat, causing his head to be right beside Maria's, before licking her ear and whispering a couple of words that finally got a reaction from the stone-cold Maria.
With his smile bigger than normal, he stepped out of the car towards the excited Laura. He was soon followed by the mature blonde, that locked her car upon exiting, without removing her gaze from the young man' back.
[Shopping Center] [Comic Store]
Everyone in the comic store, that were, essentially, all men, were frozen, like statues, in their place. Even the clerk, of the store, wasn't an exception, there were even some drooling, all of this... at the sight of Maria.
It was such that they overlooked the two others accompanying the goddess.
A young man and a young woman were standing not too far away from the goddess, and were the only ones, in the Comic Store, not gasping and hungrily looking at the mature voluptuous blonde.
Laura: Kain! Look! A limited edition of Naruto!
Laura was bobbling in happiness at the moment. Not only was she shopping in her favorite store, she was doing it with a friend, even her mother was there, which was something that she hadn't even dared to dream before.
She initial thought that it was a dream or that her mother was planning something, but she just stood there. Without saying or doing anything, just silently watching the two of them.
Kain: I can see that.
Kain was holding a figurine of Hinata from Naruto. Smiling he turned around and stepped back, in a way that Laura wouldn't see the figurine, and stood next to Maria looking at the back of Laura.

Kain: Buy this and give it to her.
Maria: Huh?
Maria thought nothing of the young man standing beside her, until she heard him whispering, seemingly in a way to avoid Laura hearing him. Turning her head to look at him, she found him holding on a doll, or figurine, like the two of them were calling, of a woman with dark-blue hair and completely white eyes.
Maria: You want me to buy this? Why?
Maria took a short glanced at her daughter, to see if she was still excitingly rummaging through the shelves of the store, before returning her gaze to the young man, as she whispered, in the same way like him.
Kain: Like I said. You shouldn't trust me, but there are battles where you should, wisely, choose. Let's make it this way. You either buy it or I do.
Maria: ….
Unknowingly to the two of them, and Laura that was still talking about a comic she just took from the shelf, there were men staring daggers at Kain. How could such a skinny and small young man dare speak with their goddess!?
Maria stared, for a few seconds, at the young man and the doll/figurine before taking it from his hands and moving towards the counter.
Kain: Laura.
Laura: …. see. So, spider-man--- huh? Did you say something?
Laura was so lost in her excitement that she was slightly stunned when she heard him and turned around finding him standing behind her, while her mother was nowhere to be found.
Laura: Oh, Kain. Where is my mother?
Blushing a little bit at the realization that she had just rambled on, she tried to divert his focus somewhere else by asking of about her mother whereabouts.
Kain: She is just getting you a present you will like. I wanted to tell you, that I was thinking of visiting other stores.
Laura: Huh? Why? Didn't you like the Comic Store? I thought you would.
Kain: No. I did. It's just that we are getting a little bit too much attention.
Laura: Huh?
Hearing his words, the young blonde looked around. She was immediately take back because of her finds. Every man, except for Kain, was looking at her mother pervertly.
Laura: Digusting...
Kain just smiled at her comment, she was right though.
There were even some drooling and beginning to lower their hands to their, clear, boners.
Kain: You know...
Laura was just about to lash out at the perverts eating her mother with their eyes, when she heard his voice, causing her to turn around before blushing madly, since he was crouching near her, while looking at her in the eye, very closely.
Kain: ….it isn't your mother fault.
Laura: Huh? I know. It's these perverts-----
Kain: The same would happen to you.
Laura couldn't continue with his timely interruption, together with the fact of his right hand resting on top of her left thigh.
Laura: W-w-what a-are y-you t-t-talking a-about?
Her face turned crimson, with smoke rising from the top of her head, as she immediately looked away from him, while stuttering.
Kain: It's their fault, but I can't really blame them. I was like that as well at first, especially when I saw you for the first time.
Maria: What are the two of you doing?
Suddenly a certain coldness could be felt around them, when an emotionless voice came killing the mood and attracting their attention. The blush on Laura' cheeks immediately died down.
Turning around, they saw it was Maria looking down at them with a cold gaze, in her eyes, especially at Kain, who still had his hand on Laura' thigh while smiling.
Laura: M-mom.... i-it isn't w-what y-you t-think.
Kain: Did you get her the present?
Laura: Huh? Present? You got me something mom?
Seemingly unaffected by anything, Kain stood up while walking towards Maria' side.
Breathing a little to calm herself down, Maria took out the figurine she just bought, giving it to Laura.
Laura: This...
Laura burst into tears and rushed at her mother hugging her tightly and lovingly, which created a certain spectacle of a pair of melons mashing against a pair of watermelons. A beautiful sight for any men in the store.
Laura: Thank you mom. I love it.
Maria' cold expression, anger and defenses crumbled under the hug of her eldest daughter, tears formed in the corners of her eyes as she hugged back her precious daughter.
It had been so long since the two of them had hugged like this. Although she wouldn't admit it, she knew it was because of a certain crazy, and psychopath, young man' help.
Kain: I don't want to interrupt such a beautiful moment, but we either move or start charging.
Maria & Laura: Huh?
The mother and daughter were brought out of their hug by the young man' words, causing them to look around, finding most of the people in the store looking at them hungrily. Laura even caught the sight of one with his pants down and beginning to touch himself.
Laura: Disgusting....
Kain: Let's go. You should get used to it, Laura. Your mother has.
Maria: He is right, sweetie. You should get used to these fuckers looking at you this way. God knowns that I have.
The three immediately walked out of the store and went around the big shopping center, stopping in a couple of stores and bought a lot of things. Kain, in particularly, attracted the attention of the two women with his purchases, as they seemed rather.... unusual.
Stopping momentarily in their shopping spree, the three of them sat at semi-circular bench enjoying ice cream.
Maria: I think it's time for us to go back.
Laura: B-but.... I am having such a fun time.
Kain: I think we should go as well.
Laura: Huh? You too?
Kain: Yes, or would you rather spend the entire day here?
Laura: N-no.
Kain: Good. "I have the basic of necessities." ….. "I would rather have better stuff, but I shouldn't push my luck with spending Maria's money."
Glancing sideways at Maria that was to his right, he smirked a little as he moved his hand towards her back.
Maria: "HUH!"
Maria jolted in her place, crushing the ice-cream cone in her hand, at the feeling of his touch on her back. Slowly turning around, to her left, she glared at the perpetrator that was looking away, from her, smiling.
Maria: "Son of a bitch! What is he planning on doing with Laura so near us!?"
Another jolt hit her as she felt his hand moving downwards, towards her butt.
Just as she was about to slap his hand away, she remembered everything that happened in the morning. Stopping herself and observing him closely, she noticed, what looked like to be a knife handle, sticking out of his jeans' left pocket. It was something that shouldn't prove any problem, except for the fact of Laura sitting at that precise side, which she was.
Maria started sweating and hyperventilating, a little bit, at the realization of what might happen if she fought back, she no longer cared about his touch and resumed on licking the rest of her, crushed, ice cream.
Maria: " 'I know that you don't trust me and even hate me, with good reasons. Even then you should choose your battles, as some may be beneficial to you.' "
Recalling what Kain had said to her in her bedroom, Maria glanced again at the young man with a peculiar gaze.
Maria: " 'I can be your biggest ally or your worst enemy. Who do you want me to be is up to you.' "
Laura: All right let's go.
Laura, jumping from the bench, started pulling on Kain, who was already fondling Maria' big and firm ass. He calmly retracted his hand before standing up, and allowed himself from being pulled by her.
Maria: "No. I can't trust him."
[13:00 PM] [Home]
Kain and Maria stood in her car alone, Laura had gone to her room to study with a few convincing words from her friend and mom.
Maria: What do you want?
Kain: ….
Maria: For you to send Laura away, means that you want something. Although I think that I should thank you for that since you made her study.
Kain: You are wrong.
Maria: Huh?
Kain: I have no need for you for now. I was just waiting to see what your current state was.
Looking behind, Maria found him indifferently looking back at her.
Kain: I told you that you should choose your battles, and it seems that you are beginning to do. Congratulations.
Opening the door, he stepped out of the car, before stopping momentarily and began speaking with a smile gracing his face.
Kain: Let's see how long you can handle it.
Maria stayed in her car for a good 5 minutes, as she continued thinking about what had just happened during the course of today.
Meanwhile Kain reached his room and began exercising a little, although he took care to not overdo it, since he was going to give it a shot on the dungeon in the school tonight. Not to mention that even just a little bit of exercise hurt like hell, although it was nothing in comparison with the kind of moves he had to pull while beating up Maria, or when he would enter the dungeon tonight.
He would rather wait a few more days to train his body more, and get better materials and equipment, but he had this feeling urging him to hurry himself up.
[A few hours later]
Kain was sitting at the desk of his bedroom sharpening a knife, while he was also mentally preparing himself for anything that might happen tonight. The possibility of him dying in horrible ways was high, that was certain.
He could end up stranded in the middle of an ocean, lost in the middle of a desert, in outer space.... there were just too many scenarios where things could end up in shit, and that was counting the most unlikely to happen. If only there was some sort of save line, like even if he died in the dungeon, it didn't mean that he truly died....

You have such an amazing way to make the words flow and unbelievable descriptions. Unique characters and a great story line. All the small clues and mystery in the humor and fantasy just makes the book perfect in my opinion. I read all chapters in two days! Less than 48 hours even! I'm REALLY looking forward to the next update, the world of Aethernea is so deep and well thought out, it's beautiful and magical. God I can't believe how creative you are, so many small details with so many families and stories everywhere. Purely fantastical, I admire you." - astro-logical from Wattpad "I love love love Aethernea so much! It is amazing how you created this new world with different creatures, magics, looks, illnesses, and evil! I was blown away by your explanation of the Mana pools and how to weave magic! Simply stunning really! You are one of my favorite authors and Wattpad and I am so glad I stumbled upon Aethernea because it is worth all of my time reading!" - Adriana_V_Blade from Wattpad "I absolutely am loving Aethernea so far. I am certain you belong in the ranks among J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, Suzane Collinings, and many more great and wonderful authors. You opened up a whole new world for me, which only a few great authors have accomplished. While it's true I am pulled into each and every book, few are able to capture me to the point of inescapability. Though, somehow, you have managed this feat. I thank you for this and more! You are a wonderful author and can't wait for more to come!" - daughterofpercabeth7 from Wattpad "WOW! just caught Aethernea in gravity tales! Just when I was getting tired of most xianxia novels this appears and completely blows my mind! I really like the depth and the humorous touch you give the characters and it seems you have the storyline well thought out since you are always hinting about things in the past and the future. It has been such an enjoyable experience that I couldn't stop reading, finishing it in just one day and laughing my way through most of the episodes. But what keeps me so excited for what's coming is the magic system and the professions of the world you are creating. The magic mechanics have such a huge potential! They are simple but at the same time they open so many possibilities. Even though we still only understand the basics of transmutation and augmentation, I expect them to enable fights where there is need of quick thinking and skill, and not just brainless overpower of every opponent. In a way this makes me reminiscent about The Mistborn Series by Brandon Sanderson, which are one of my favorite series ever. The thing that sets Mistborn apart from any other series is that the mechanics are so well thought out that they could be used to create a super cool triple A video game and I cannot help but hope Aethernea reaches the same level or even surpass it. I really think it has that potential. Really hope this series gets the attention it deserves. As for me, Thursdays and Sundays just got a whole more exciting! =)" - AlexMLion "Your writing is fantastic and riveting, the chapters and character flow so smooth, and it captivates the reader with the many twist and turns that tricks one mind into thinking this is about to happen, when suddenly the exact opposite happens. You truly are in inspirational writer with a brilliant mind that can see and put words into chapters and into this one truly awesome book. Thank you!" - AshleyStaar from Wattpad "I loved this story, such detailed description and accurate words, both Kiel and Elaru completely caught my attention, your writing style is just beautiful and the plot is astounding and it's just the first episode! This kind of fantasy stories are my favourite, it has a lot of magic in it, rivalry and sense of humour." - BlackWhiteD from Wattpad
