《Invader Zim >> Not Just a Defect <<》Chapter 4: The new Zim

Dib was already seated in class.
He had taken the bandage off his nose, showing that it was red and swollen.
He gently rubbed his nose, hissing slightly when it started stinging a little.
Instead, he rested his head on his fist and looked out the window.
He sighed.
Hearing the door open, he turned to see who the poor, unlucky soul to come in late for Miss. Bitters' class was.
His eyes widened slightly when he saw it was Zim.
Zim was in his human disguise, the black wig and contact lenses, but he was wearing a brand new outfit.
He must have gone out and bought one after he had left Zim's base yesterday.
The said Irken was wearing a black shirt and skinny jeans, a black and silver belt, and a red denim vest that was unzipped. He was also wearing a pair of black boots almost similar to his old ones, only shorter, and was still wearing his black gloves.
Dib looked around and saw that some of the other students were either staring in shock or murmuring as the Irken closed the door behind him.
"Zim, you're-" started Miss. Bitters, but got interrupted.
"Yes yes I know, you pathetic old human. I'm late and I should feel ashamed of my existence as a normal human being and we're all gonna die someday, so there's no point in living anymore. We get it" said Zim aggressively, as he sat down at his desk and glared at the teacher.
Some of the students gasped.
There was only ONE other kid who dared talk back to Miss.
Bitters with that much attitude.
Some say he was murdered.
Others say he was kidnapped and tortured.
All anyone knew for sure was this:
The kid had simply vanished the same exact day, directly after school.
Everyone stared up at the teacher in fright.
She only had a blank face.
She then turned and sat back down at her desk.
"Alright class. Turn to page 401 in your science textbook. We're going to learn about Chemistry today" she said, opening up her down textbook to the page.
Either she didn't care or she was filled with so much rage inside and was hiding it well.
Time skip
Dib walked into the cafeteria and looked around.
He spotted his sister, Gaz, already seated at one of the tables. She was playing on her Game Slave II.
She must have already finished eating so she could focus on her game.
Dib looked past her and spotted Zim.
He was poking at a pile of strange green goop that was being served for lunch.

Dib needed to talk to him about the armada.
He walked passed Gaz, who glanced up from her game momentarily, expecting him to sit down next to her. She did a double take when she noticed he had walked passed her.
Confused, she paused her game and watched.
Over with Zim
Zim just poked at the strange green goop.
"This can NOT be what they serve human children..." he said, trailing off.
He blanched back when the green goop came to life, screeching as it slid off the tray, jumping down from the table, and sliding all the way over to the same kid, who still had that pink goop from a few days ago, stuck to his head.
The green goop climbed up onto the head of the kid and seemed to have a 'conversation' with the pink goop.
The pink goop seemed to blush and giggle before it started nuzzling the green goop.
Zim could only watch in silence, completely weirded out at this point.
"Hey Zim. We need to talk" said Dib, sitting down across the table from Zim.
"What is it Sti-I-I mean....Dib. What is it you need to talk about?" Asked Zim. He had managed to catch himself before he was able to call Dib 'Stink-Brain'.
He had to remember they were temporary friends for now.
At least, that's what he thought.
What he didn't know was that Dib actually considered them friends now.
Not Best of friends, but just friends.
I mean, the only reason for them to become friends was because the Irken Empire was coming to destroy the Earth.
They may as well work together and see what they can do to stop them.
With Keef
Keef was just sitting at a separate table, staring at Zim and Dib as they spoke.
He glared at the Membrane boy, his eyes narrowed.
HE was Zim's best friend.
NOT Dib.
He started having different feelings mixed in his chest.
Jealousy, anger, sadness, love, heartbreak-
Wait.
What was that last one?
Love and heartbreak?
He looked at Dib.
He immediatly glared at the boy, feeling that anger and jealousy, knowing he had been replaced.
He looked at Zim next.
He started feeling different.
His glance softened and his emotions melted away.
What was this feeling he was developing for the green boy?
He didn't even know if feeling this way was wrong or not.
He smiled, unaware he was staring at the Irken in disguise.
It probably didn't help that Zim had changed his outfit.
It made him seem more like a...punk bad boy?

He was wearing all black with only a red vest and a black and silver belt.
He either didn't know or didn't care.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANT TO-?" Screamed Zim angrily, but was interrupted by Dib.
The boy had panicked and jumped over the table, slapping his hand over the green boy's mouth to shush him.
Realizing what he was about to say, Zim glanced around nervously and saw that no one was watching.
Dib sat back down, removing his hand from Zim's mouth as the two talked in more hushed tones.
Keef was confused by this.
What could possibly be so important that needed to be spoken in hushed tones?
Then, a bunch of different scenarios started playing through his head.
He gasped in horror.
They couldn't be!
Keef started feeling that same anger and jealousy from before, consuming his thoughts.
With Zim and Dib
"What do you mean you fixed Tak's ship? I thought it was broken" hissed Zim angrily, glancing around the cafeteria.
"Yes, I know what you think. But THINK about it Zim. We could use Tak's ship and sneak onto the Massive while it's still docked at the Galactic Ship Repair Yard. There are bound to be giant holes that would take some time to fix. That would give us a couple of weeks before it's finished. Then it would take some time to get here, depending on where they're docked" explained Dib quietly.
"Hmmm...you may have a point human" said Zim, now thinking about it.
"Exactly! So then, we could either kill the-" started Dib, but was interrupted.
"Yes. We shall kill them. They LIED to me, despite giving them my full loyalty to them, they fool around and pretend that I'm an Invader. They don't even DESERVE to be Tallests. If they can't take their job as 'Almighty Leaders' seriously, then they shouldn't even BE leaders" said Zim angrily.
"Wow.....huh.....o-kay then.....so uh....you're ok with this? You know....killing your leaders and all?" Asked Dib awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.
"Yes" hissed Zim.
The bell rang and the two got up, heading to class.
"Want to meet at your base or my house after school? We still have a lot to talk about" said Dib, walking alongside the Irken.
"Hmm....how about my place? I may have been locked out of my ship, but my lab still has power. There's plenty of information we could use. Just as long as this isn't some sort of sick trick to reveal to everyone that I'm an alien, because if it is, so help me Stink-Brain, you won't be leaving my base alive in one piece" glared Zim hatefully.
Dib gulped and nodded.
He had the perfect chance to finally expose Zim as an alien, but they needed to work together to stop the Irken Empire.
With the Tallests
Tallest Purple was pacing back and forth in the main control room.
He had no idea how to tell Red about this.
What was he thinking?
Waltz in there and be like 'Hey, yah, Red? Remember how we're planning to kill Zim and destroy Earth? Well, I don't want to anymore because I don't want Zim to die'.
Red would be SO furious if he did say that.
He heard the door fwoosh open.
He turned and saw Red walking over to him.
"They said it's gonna be a week or two, depending how the 'Space Weather' will be. Ptff, yah right. 'SPACE WEATHER!'" said Red, making sure to turn around and yell that last part out the door so whoever told him that would hear the sarcasm.
He then sighed and turned back around.
"So...anything about Earth we need to know?" Asked Red, turning to Purple.
He wanted to know what Earth had to offer before blowing it up.
"Oh! Well....there are a lot of animals and plants that live on Earth, not just humans. In fact, it may have the most diverse group of Earth Inhabitants than any other planet in the solar system" explained Purple, pulling up a hologram of what he had been looking at earlier.
Red yawned in boredom.
"BORE-IIIING! Anything more interesting to know? I mean, we've conquered planets with MORE species than any other planet known. I doubt Earth is any special" said Red.
Purple gulped and nodded.
He flipped the hologram so it was showing a bunch of different kinds of snacks.
"There are hundreds of varieties of snacks on Earth! So many, it could last us for years!" Exclaimed Purple happily, blushing slightly when he thought of all the snacks he could eat.
"Ugh....focus Purple. We need information on Earth to see what's worth saving, although, I doubt there even is" said Red coldly, turning his back on the purple clad Tallest and walking out of the room.
Purple was just left standing there, all alone, just staring, shock, in the direction Red had disappeared in.
"But....I thought you liked snacks too....." said Purple sadly, trailing off.

Paladin
When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!
