《Grand Defender》Chapter 7

After cutting away even more grass, I had a huge pile.
It was about two square meters, weighing around a hundred kilograms.
I transported the grass bit by bit, eventually all of it was besides my boulder.
An axe had to be made for me to chop some wood, I did quick work of it with my [Mason] Class, finishing it in just a few minutes.

Nice, I grabbed my newly crafted [Stone Axe] and headed to the denser part of the forest in search of lumber.
I saw some still standing dead trees that were almost completely vertical and had just a few branches.
The trees were thin enough that I could encircle them using both hands, and thick enough that five good swings couldn't take them out.
It took fifteen swings for the first tree to completely chop off, and I still needed to do this another excruciatingly slow nineteen times to have enough wood for the frame of the house.
I dragged back the trunks two at a time. It had taken me two days just to cut them, and now I had to process them.
Bark fell as I peeled the trunks with my [Stone Knife] and branches were cut with my [Stone Axe].
Then, I cut four logs to four meters each. I dug four holes, one meter and a half deep each, which were separated from one another by two and a half meters.
I inserted the cut logs into the holes and properly put them in place.I cut another four logs to two and a half meters and connected them with root rope to the top of the vertical logs, making a cube.

The logs on top were then used as a base to support a triangular structure, also made of logs, and were properly attached.
Now I had a sad excuse for a home that looked like a kindergartner drew it, but it really was just the frame.
Four of the unused logs were placed in where the middle of the walls would be, to add more stability, and the rest were placed in the roof.
The soil here was mostly clay, just like where I live huh, so I dug a wide hole and poured water on it using an empty bamboo husk.
I then pushed some of the loose clay back in the hole and started mixing it with my feet.
After the mixture was done, I grabbed the dried grass and threw it into the clay.
When I was done mixing it again, I grabbed some of it and placed it in the space between the logs, I placed the flattest river stones I could find on top of the clay.
When it looked stable enough, I placed another layer of clay and stones on top of the first one.
This continued until the end of the day, where I already had built the walls halfway.
I placed the unused hay in the middle of the structure, and rightfully jumped onto it and slept like a log.
The next day, I woke up slightly itchy but feeling well rested.
Sleeping on the boulder wasn't so bad, but this was obviously better.
The walls had dried overnight and had small cracks, which was nothing unusual for clay from what I understood.
I went out fishing and roasted the catch, then started remaking the clay mixture.
After I finished, I continued to do the walls and finally finished them.
The roof would have to wait for later, I ran out of grass.
I still had my hay bed, but didn't want to use it for a roof.

Dear Spellbook (Rewrite)
Live. Study. Repeat. Tal never saw himself as an adventurer, but the call to adventure never much cared for his opinion. Despite his best efforts, his search for answers on the murder of his parents ever draws him into danger. Accompanied by a group of seasoned warriors, thus far Tal has gotten by on his own meager magical talents, but when one day he wakes up to find himself back in his bed of the night before, he is faced with a challenge he must conquer alone. What to expect: This story was born of an attempt to create in world lore reasons for many of the mechanics and tropes of D&D, but you do not need to know of them to enjoy the story. It's a single POV time loop story with slow paced progression fantasy elements. The story is not one of fast-paced power ups and non-stop action, but as it progresses, the action picks up. There is a lot of magic system exploration on a system built to unify the diverse magic of D&D into one cohesive magic system. The setting is an original world with familiar races and monsters but with new unique origins and motivations. Book 1 is complete. Book 2 is complete and coming out M-W-F.
