《Grand Defender》Chapter 9

The drumming of the rain had gone away and the sky slowly returned to its normal blue. Critters emerged from the ground and the plants appeared greener, the smell of rain still fresh.
I stepped outside, hopping over the water filled trench. The mud unpleasantly squished between my toes as I walked through it. I traveled to the previously calm river, which was now a raging mass of water and debris. There were no fish in sight and I hadn't eaten since the rain started. It was around 3pm from what I could tell, and I was getting hungry.
I returned to my hut and grabbed my [Stone Spear]. The blood-tinted dice managed to stay halfway into the wall, until I picked it up. It had just a few scratches and a slight crack, which were not there after fixing it with [Geomancer]. The System probably reinforces whatever I craft, which gave me an idea. I disassembled the [Stone Spear] and activated [System Crafting]. After thinking about a stone spear, a notification popped up.
You have crafted a [Stone Spear]
A great weapon and useful tool crafted by [Sanjo]
Tier II
+20 Attack
Can be used as a wand for [Geomancy]
The [Stone Spear] was basically perfect this time around, it had no visible imperfections and the head was firmer. I stepped out for the second time, and headed directly to the deep of the forest in search of food. Everything was still wet due to the heavy rainfall, and only a few animals were around. Traveling along the river, I saw a group of coatimundis. These animals were usually just around half a meter long, but this group's average length was probably two meters. I disliked the idea of killing an entire group just to eat one, like how I had done with the iguanas, so I dispersed the group with a shout and went after the largest individual.

The coati was fast, but my spear was faster. With a swift strike coming from my end, the creature was done for. I tried lifting the animal up, but being the size of a tiger with shorter legs, I couldn't lift it. And so, I dragged the creature all the way back. Every millimeter of its body got covered with mud, some even drying as I dragged it along. When I reached my hut, the thing was basically a mud statue. I grabbed my pot and filled it with water at the river, then carefully cleaned the body. My [Stone Knife] proved very useful at skinning this time, like a hot knife through butter. I lit up a fire and placed the pot on top of it, some water and meat inside of it. I also put in some herbs which I remembered my mother teaching me about.
The resulting stew was anything but gourmet. It didn't really taste bad, it was kind of bordering on good, actually. But it definitely looked depressing, the stew's colors were a mix of brown and dark green. And it was also certain, this was the best meal I had made so far. The mangoes tasted better, yes, but this was something that I made, and it made me proud.
I didn't really have much to do now, having finished my hut and having dinner prepared for later. I grabbed the dice and made it float again, making the dice spin vertically instead of horizontally. I pointed my [Stone Spear] towards a nearby tree and applied two forces on the dice, one that would maintain the position of it, and the other would push the dice in a specific direction. After a few seconds, I retired the first force. The dice shot directly into the tree, going directly through it and making nearby birds fly off in fear.

It looks like I have a new weapon, and a ranged one at that!

Fallen
He hadn't even gained a consciousness yet that he was bound to lose everything if he ever came to life. He hadn't offended anyone, but they offended him. He hadn't cursed anyone, they cursed him. He hadn't killed anyone, they killed everyone related to him. Thus, he silently vowed. "They plan to offend me for their own interest? I shall give them plenty of reason to do so. Do they want to curse me? Please do so, since I'm more than willing to be your living bane. Kill me? Sadly, you won't be the last having this type of wishful thinking."- The Devil -------------------- I think that I can manage 1 chapter per week now, maybe 2 but certainly not three. Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
