Arc 1 Chapter 6- New Home Short-Lived
Kyosuke’s eyes open up as his mind is finally awake from last night’s power surge. It felt like a sugar crash or getting a concussion, one second you’re hyper and the next you’re dead on the floor. Kyosuke’s mind was in shambles and he's feeling the worst he’s ever felt in his life.
-I have no clue where I am but at least I’m not dead!
“KYOSUKE! YOU’RE FINALLY AWAKE!!!”
Before Kyosuke could get his bearings straight, Adal ran into the room jumping on him as a sister does in anime.
“AGH, you’re gonna kill me Adal. Say, what happened last night? I don’t remember a single thing that happened.”
Adal replied as if he was trying to hide something from Kyosuke. ‘Well, it’s hard to say, but I do know that you stopped the criminal, what was he like anyways?’
“He had oily black hair, wore some sort of robe, and he sounded like he’s seen everyone he’s loved die. The weirdest part was his name, he told me his full name so now we know who he is.”
Adal seemed eager to find out so he sprouted saying, ‘DON’T JUST SIT THERE KYOSUKE! TELL ME WHO HE IS!’
Kyosuke was still very messed up from his fight last night, his torso and arms were covered in bandages, and moving felt like his skin was going to rip off at once. ‘His name was Kieran Blakely.’
Without Kyosuke even noticing, Edwin had peaked his head into the room. ‘Kieran? I feel like I’ve heard that name before. I’ll have to look into that.’
The trio that was formed the night before were all in the same room, they’re not anything special, an old man, an elf, and a human boy with a power that he doesn’t even know to exist.
“I’m surprised we were even able to win last night, all I remember is Edwin getting knocked out and then I blacked out, somehow I was able to get him to run off?”
“Not exactly.” Replied Edwin.
“You see after I was knocked out, you were able to defeat him, I never saw you do it but when I woke up I saw your body was hurt, it was almost as if you were getting eaten alive from your power.”
Kyosuke was excited about having the power to make him strong but not so excited about the fact that he can’t properly use it, it wasn’t something he could use multiple times either, if he continued to use it he would probably eventually die.
“Even though I have this power I’m still going to need to rely on other magic and weapons. I need to be able to fight, I need to save people.”
Edwin looked nervous to ask his question, but it was like he had something deep on his mind. ‘Young Kyosuke, I need to ask something of you, since I kept quiet about the prison situation and let you stay here for the night I want you to do something.”
-I’ll be ready for anything, I don’t care if it’s slaying goblins, slimes, or demons, I will be so powerful!

The boring reality set in when Edwin spilled what he was trying to say. “I need you to escort my daughter to another giant kingdom to the west.”
-GODDAMMIT!
“Well, since you did help me out there, I guess I do owe you it, I am going to need a sword though, something that’ll protect me once I step foot outside the kingdom.” Replied Kyosuke.
“I have a sword waiting for you in the carriage you’ll be taking, it’s nothing too special but it’ll get the job done.”
Kyosuke still had a question on his mind, who was his daughter, and why she wanted to go shopping in another part of the country.
“Hey, what’s your daughter like anyways?” Asked Kyosuke
“She’s… Very distant from me, she’s not my real blood daughter but was given to me by someone close. She’s had the worst life up until now so I try to spoil her to make her like people again but it seems that my work isn’t working.”
Edwin was looking sad, he’s been trying for so long to help his daughter out but hasn’t had any luck getting even slightly closer.
Lost in the train of thought he was brought back by Kyosuke asking, ‘Hey when are we supposed to go anyways?’
Edwin cracked a smile and replied. ‘As a matter of fact, she’s waiting for you in the carriage right now, best not keep her waiting young Kyosuke.’
Scrambling to get ready Kyosuke sloppy threw on some clothes that Edwin had placed out for him. No longer did Kyosuke wear a tracksuit and shorts, now he wore white cloth pants, a custom pink long sleeve shirt that Edwin had probably had made specifically for Kyosuke, and a white cloth scarf.
-GODDAMMIT!
“Young Kyosuke, I have engraved three spells on that scarf. One makes it so that it’s unbreakable, another makes it harder for you to lose control of your emotions allowing that power to get through, and the final spell is a failsafe if you do end up using that power this will protect you from most of the damage. Try to be safe, I trust you.”
Kyosuke and Adal threw themselves out the door and made their way to the carriage. The mansion looked really nice, a big green landscape before for running, and a little pathway in the front with a fountain in the middle.
“Holy crap these guys have it made!” Screamed Kyosuke.
They stepped into the carriage to see a pissed-off teenage girl who looked to be around the age of 17.
“It took you, two idiots, long enough to get here, I’ve been waiting for like six thousand hours!” Exclaimed the girl.
Kyosuke sharply replied with a chuckle. ‘That’s not very nice to tell the two people who are supposed to look after you during this trip eh eh.”
“Whatever, it’s not like you guys are any stronger than me. Hell, I’m probably stronger than both of you two combined.” Replied the girl.
Adal didn’t want to speak up since he didn’t want to start any commotion but he leaned over to Kyosuke to whisper. ‘Let’s just steer clear from making any problems with her, it’s going to be hard enough as it is.’

“You’re probably right.” Whispered Kyosuke.
They started on their journey to the other city, it would take a few hours to get there so they’ll have to keep quiet until then. The last thing they wanted to do was to annoy the girl they’re supposed to be serving for the day, the only problem is they didn’t know her name.
“Eh, excuse me, I know you told us not to talk to you but what should we call you? What’s your name exactly.” Asked Adal
The girl painfully replied with a deep sigh. ‘I don’t care what you call me but don’t expect my name, I don’t know who you guys are and I don’t care who you are, so therefore I won’t give you my name.”
-What a snobby bitch!
“We’ll think of a name when we get a better look at you, it’s hard to really tell who you are in this cramped space you know?” Kyosuke said this with a fake smile on his face.
“Do whatever you want.” The girl replied coldly.
-How many more hours of this hell do we have to deal with, she’s just so damn stubborn. MY HEADS GOING TO EXPLODE!
“Well if it matters to you, I’m Kyosuke Matsuda, and he is Adal Altmann, I’m human and he’s an elf.” Said Kyosuke.
In her bitchiest voice yet she exclaimed, ‘Don’t care didn’t ask!’
-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Hours went by and finally, the three kids could see the sight of the kingdom. The streets of this kingdom looked very different from that of Delpa. While the Delpa streets had a modern look to them, these looked more medieval. Not bad looking, just different.
The three make their way out of the carriage and Kyosuke finally got a good look at the girl. She was a little shorter than Kyosuke making her around five-six, just a tad taller than Adal. She had short black hair, was wearing a short dress that went down to right above her knees, and had stockings that went all the way up to the skirt.
-Goddammit why’d she have to be hot, lord forgive her for being like the girls in my time. Hot and bitchy
Kyosuke couldn’t help but shed a tear that he'll probably have to end up marrying a slime or gross orc lady.
“THAT’S IT!” Exclaimed Kyosuke. ‘I’ll call you Ai, it uses the kanji for love.”
Kyosuke was only taught very little Japanese by his father when he was young, he didn’t care that much about it since he was more focused on passing his English classes.
Ai slightly blushed at the name. ‘I don’t care what you call me… But why that name?’
Kyosuke, this time using a real smile replied saying. ‘Because I think it suits you.’
No one could get out of the Kyosuke smile, she was forced to crack a little smile when he said that.
Adal interrupted the daydreaming that was going on in Kyosuke’s head by asking. ‘So, where to first guys?’
“I’m going clothes shopping right now, you guys will carry my clothes back to the carriage, then we’ll go get food and return home.” Replied Ai.
-What a biiiiiiitch.
“Anything for you, miss Ai hehe.” Replied a sarcastic Kyosuke.
Seeming a bit annoyed Ai turned around and started walking into the nearest store. The name of the store was unknown to Kyosuke since he’s not able to read anything so he awkwardly asked Adal. ‘Hey, what’s the name of the shop we’re going into?’
“It’s called Fashion Mart, it’s not very original but it’s a big place here in this kingdom.” Said Adal.
-Fashion Mart? I’ve never heard anything so stupid, but I guess when you’re in a medieval time, things aren’t really easy to come up with.
The look inside of Fashion Mart was very clean, while the outside had a more medieval-looking aesthetic, the inside was made of white marble, it looked not only modern but very expensive.
“WOW, this looks so cute!” Ai looked like she was enjoying herself which was the main goal of this whole trip.
After what felt like forever, Ai finally got all of the clothes she wanted, the total cost came up to be over twenty thousand Dekadrachm, Kyosuke wasn’t too sure if that was a lot of coins so he didn’t freak out when the number came out, but he was hoping that she brought enough with her.
“Are you sure you don’t want to try them on first, what if they don’t fit?” Asked Adal.
“Oh my God you’re so right, you may be as useless as Kyosuke but at least you’re right on this.” Said Ai.
-Still a bitch
The two boys waited outside as Ai tried on all of her clothes, she was taking forever so Kyosuke decided to sit on the ground and wait. Adal went to go ask the merchant if they could get some sort of discount to help out Ai.
While inside the changing room, Ai was having trouble putting on one of her dresses. she started to get the dress on when her foot got caught on it and she fell over letting out a short shriek.
Kyosuke ran in to check on the screaming Ai when he noticed that she had fallen onto the floor. Before he time to apologize, he was already heading face-first into the floor after receiving a killer knock-out punch from Ai.
Ai threw her clothes on before stampeding outside to yell at Kyosuke.
“THAT’LL TEACH YOU, YOU DAMN PERVERT!” Ai’s eyes went full white and she started screaming at Kyosuke.
-Dammit that took all of my energy away, I think I’m going to head to sleep n-.
Both Adal and Ai screamed when they saw his eyes close “KYOSUKE WAKE UP!”
Kyosuke was back in a familiar void, he knew he didn’t die from that punch but every time he’s in this hellish void, he always seems to be transported to a place he wasn’t at originally.
It wasn’t ideal for Kyosuke to keep going back and forth between places so he’ll make sure that this is the last time he’ll be going to where ever he is heading. At least that is his plan, only fate will decide if that's what ends up happening.

The Paradox Prophecy
Thousands of years ago, an alliance between the races of Idoras and the mighty dragons, saved the world from destruction. After many years of relative peace, a dark evil emerges. Aalya, a young girl from the small kingdom of Avani, meets the young Prince Alexandar. When chaos reigns on their peaceful home, Aalya and her friends gear up for an adventure that could very well determine the fate of all life in Idoras. I haven't completely fleshed out the prophecy yet but I wanted to include it because it is an important part of the story. I have decided it would be better to spend some time figuring out the world I am creating and work out all the kinks in the story. I have done a lot of editing in the first seven chapters already. For now, updating will be scarce. I will post all of part one once I am happy with what I have written. I will leave what I have up, but please let me know what you think. I do not own the image I used for the cover.

When the evils of reality are thrown in their face and the question is asked: What are you going to do about it? Why did anyone ever think they'd need horses? I upload ~30k word chunks at the beginning of every month, rotating through each character in order. I have at least four extra chunks on my Patreon. I suggest setting your reading preferences to indent and 30 pt paragraph spacing for the best reading experience.
