Chapter 4: Mother

Joseph now as Riley sighs at how weak he is and starts thinking about how he could get more powerful

"I don't know what to od with this ability, I mean x-ray vision? That's laughable" he says smugly

{you can change it later on} the robotic voice very blandly responds with

Joseph now as Riley then hears a ring at the door. Riley walks down the stairs and opens the door. He sees that it's his mother but at the same time, it's not because he had never met her before. He hugs her and almost tears up because his last memory with his actual mother is her hanging herself and leaving a heartbreaking note.

"Riley! Are you okay?" his mother says

He wipes his tears without her knowing "umm..yeah I just...missed you, you know" he reluctantly answers back

"oh, you've never talked to me like that before. is everything alright?" says his mother

"uhh... yup it's all good" he replies

"I brought you some snacks. oh, and also I got an invitation for Dexton Academy for you to take a test there" said his mother

"I mean I am rather hungry so...wait what?"

"I got an invitation from Dexton academy," his mother said

"another year of high school?" he asks

his mother replies with " what! no, you're going into college"

"college?" he asks confused because he has never gotten into college because hi actual parents couldn't afford it which led to their divorce. He then starts to sob.

"Are you okay?" asks his mother

he wipes his tears away "yeah, I was just watching a sad movie" he lies to try to hide the fact he is not from this world.

He and Riley's mother hug

his mother stands back and asks him "can you help with carrying the groceries?"

"umm.. yeah sure" he replies

Riley carries the groceries to the kitchen and brings the soap and conditioner upstairs to the bathrooms and then quickly goes into his room again. He checks the other features on his bracelet and trying to understand how it works. then he remembered that 16 years old is the normal age for college in this world.

"hmm... " he looks through his bracelet and he sees (10 points)

"10 points... umm what are points exactly? like what can I do with them?" he asks the robotic voice

{points is like currency. It's what you use to can upgrade, put another benefit in a skill or create a skill}

"so I can use my points to basically buy powers" Riley replies

{that's one way to put it} says the robotic voice

"hmm so what should I do now well I guess I can get a weapon but what weapon should I get?"

{you can try to upgrade your sword} the robotic voice says once again very blandly

"I'm not really a fan of swords it's too overrated and boring," he says "maybe I can try an axe or a spear maybe even a bow and arrow" and then he shakes his head

"I should worry about that later. I should really train my body"

{agreed}
