Chapter 3

First Hand Experience

I went to a nearby city because I have not been there in awhile, as I entered the city from the highway I drove down the main road to the city, people looked at me while I was driving, probably not expecting to see a large truck that was meant for military purposes going into the city.

When driving I saw a gas station so I stopped at it and went to get a drink.

As I parked I got out of the truck and locked the door and went up to the door.

As I pushed the door, the door opened and made a *Ding* and i walked over to the cooler area in the gas station, the place was pretty busy with people coming and going constantly.

I found the drinks and grabbed a flavored water the flavor was apple I thought I might as well try it, as I closed the door and began to walk to the counter I stood in line there as 2 others ahead of me.

As I was up the worker spoke.

"Hello there,"

I responded "hello I'm just getting this today."

I placed the water on the counter.

"Alright sounds good"

The man grabbed the water and scanned it *beep*

"Alright it will be $2.75"

I slid my card and grabbed the water as I walked away the man said.

"have a good day"

I pushed the door open and as I was about to enter my truck a boom sounded further in the city.

*Boooooom* which was then followed by screams, a black smoke cloud raised high in the sky, I looked towards it and was able to see it over the buildings, more screams then some gunshots followed the screams.

*pow. . . . . . pow . . . . . pow*

"What's going on?" the person next to me said

I replied "I have no clue but it does not sound good"

More Dark pillars filled the sky sirens were heard in the distance

*police sirens scream in the distance* followed by more Shots *pow . . . . .pow . . . . . pow*

The amount of gunfire began to increase and the speed increased as well, something big was happening more police sirens were heard and eventually a police car sped down the road and stopped just past the gas station.

Two officers fully equipped with body armor and had there rifles drawn they positioned themselves facing towards the noises and eventually hordes of people came running out of the area where everything was going down, people were hauling ass away from the direction of explosions and gunfire, more and more police arrived next to the single police car and eventually the road was blocked.

Everyone left the gas station besides a few of us who were stunned.

"GET OUT OF HERE IT'S NOT SAFE!" one of the officers screamed as the blockade of officers began to open fire.

*pow . . pow . . pow . . pow*

Most of the people passed before they fired i could not see down the road I went on the road to see what they were shooting and that's when I saw Them.

Small groups of orcs charged towards us and more kept running around the corners of streets to the main road to join the charge they were different from the ones on the live feed, these ones wore better makeshift armor made out of metals and held shields, some wore robes and held staffs which were glowing all sorts of colors, ranging from bright orange to the dark red and some even glowed a light green.

The red was the same as the live feed, the orange was fire balls ranging all sorts of sizes, while green enveloped injured orcs and their wounds began to heal.

The police kept firing into the growing horde, as more orcs died more joined in from the back the shields did an alright job at blocking some bullets but most shields were unable to block the bullets.

"This is blockade 1 we are falling back the orcs are taking more ground"

"Alright fall back to blockade 3"

"Affirmative moving to blockade 3"

Voices came from the police radios as they kept firing, it seems this was not the only horde in the city and all of the police are having troubles.

*Whoosh . . . Whoosh*

A police helicopter flew overhead and flew into the city, more equipped officers opened the side doors and let there bullets fly into the horde, they did not stop moving and were constantly dodging fireballs that were flung at them.

As I was standing watching the orcs get closer more vehicles and sirens were heard, swat teams and more equipped police forces arrived including state troopers and highway patrol, it seemed like anyone in the area was sent to reinforce the city.

They ran around me and they positioned themselves and began to fire into the orcs, the gunfire was loud there was no stop of gunfire, battle cries from the orcs ran out and fire balls flew towards the blockade and the police scattered.

Police officers were caught in the blast and were sent flying and some turned to ashes, I could no longer sit around, I saw a rifle that was next to a body and picked it up, I searched for some mags and I found 3 on the body's body armor.

One police officer ran up and spoke,

"What the hell are you doing here put that down and run dammit"

I replied while inserting the first clip of ammo

"sorry but I don't think that's an option, since they are too close if I run they will catch me, if I get in my truck I will be blown up"

The officer looked around and looked at the orcs then sighed

"alright do you know how to shoot at least?" he asked

"yeah I have a gun permit just never got around to buying a gun, I shoot at the range some time when I have time" I replied

"alright we can use every able body just try not to get yourself killed" he said and ran off

I looked at his uniform and saw he was just a normal police officer, he began to fire into the horde of orcs which grew in size even more.

I followed his lead and ran to the closet cover and aimed down the iron sight and selected semi auto, and pressed the trigger while pointing at an orc.

*Bang . . . . . Bang . . . . . Bang*

I shot at a slow rate trying to hit the orcs in the heads but missed quite a bit or were blocked by shields, I shot again at an orc who lowered its shield to yell, as I fired again the orc stood still and fell down and blood filled the ground.

The street was littered with orcs bodies which filled the streets with their colored blood and some having chunks shot out of them and pieces of their flesh littered the ground, the alive orcs kept charging and some began to adapt while in combat, they picked up dead orcs bodies using them as meat shields.

Fireballs kept flying towards us and screams were heard as more officers were dying around me seeing parts of limbs fly by me, it made me feel sick but I knew I had to keep firing.

As the orcs closed in to 100 feet and were basically 50 steps away we began to walk backwards and kept shooting, and that was when we heard the sound of armored vehicles behind us.

*Booom . . . Booom*

"Reinforce the blockade! Watch out for the fireballs, Tanks use the destroyed police cruisers as cover" a voice yelled out

As myself and some police officers looked, we saw 2 M1A2 Abrams with around 3 squads of soldiers which were more than 50 soldiers, they all lined up behind the remaining cover and opened fire with the support of the 2 tanks.

I joined in as radio's on some soldiers had voices come out,

"3rd company has arrived and are reinforcing the City, all forces commence operation."

"Affirmative"

More voices replied with their calls signs and eventually helicopters arrived, they let loose missiles and machine guns onto the road of orcs, the infantry ran out of cover and tanks pushed up slowly and kept advancing and more military forces arrived they were national guard supported by other branches.

It was like I was watching a movie the orcs were being pushed back as more vehicles arrived with support from the air entered the area as well, as the military pushed them back into the town the remaining police force and some medical teams arrived at the blockade to help out.

A soldier walked up to me and requested I hand him the rifle, I obeyed his request and handed it over, he took it back to his Humvee and went to help the medical teams.

"Thank you for the assist there" a voice said behind me

I turned to the voice and a man dressed in all black with a helmet was in front of me, from the uniform he was part of a swat team, he seemed to be the highest ranking on scene.

"I'm just glad that is over" I replied after inspecting his uniform

"Yeah tell me about it we lost a lot of officers and people today" he said looking gloomy

"Hey at least we stopped them from advancing more into the other parts of the city" I replied to try and cheer him up

he looked at me and smiled slightly

"Yeah your right anyways thanks again most people would have ran"

"Yeah I don't blame them just look at those orcs they are huge" I said

"What's your name?" he asked

"Rex, Rex Lopiz" I answered

"Well you should probably leave now Rex, the military should be able to clear the rest of them out"

"How did the orcs get this far from Hawaii?" I asked the man

"Seemed like a Orc opened a small portal, not like a Gate but enough for a large force to come through we are guessing it to be a special kind of Orc mage." he replied

I nodded and went to where I parked my truck, thankfully it was unharmed I climbed up into the truck as an explosion went off behind me at the blockade.

A blown up tank crashed into the blockade, I looked to where it flew from and saw the other tank reversing while firing into a giant creature, it stood as tall as a 3 story building it grabbed parts of buildings and threw them into the crowd of infantry.

Yells and cries of pain from the soldiers were let out and crushed soldiers were now under the parts of the building, it was part of a house and soldier laid on the road impaled by the walls and crushed by other parts of the house.

I looked in horror as I looked up at the creature which resembled a giant orc, chucked as it smashed the ground with its fists and stomped on the soldier who was running, the giant orc was glowing a dark yellow meaning an orc mage casted some sort of spell.

The tank's rounds were making holes but there were 5 orc mages in the back casting bright colors at the giant orc which healed the holes in seconds, the tank was picked up and a hatch opened on the tank as a crew member shot the orc's left eye with his pistol.

The orc grasped his left eye and yelled and threw the tank like a ball, it flew and the man fell down to the ground in mere seconds and was splattered on the ground before he could make a sound.

The air rumbled as 2 fighter jets launched missiles into the orc, the orc fell down to his knees and 2 of the orc mages stopped casting green and began to cast fireballs at the fighters.

As this was going on the soldiers on the ground fell back past the blockade and formed a defensive line at the rear of the blockade, some soldiers holstered their rifles and pulled Rocket launchers over there shoulders and began to aim.

"Clear backblast" they shouted which was soon followed by "Backblast clear"

The Rockets shot out as they impacted into the giant orc making it let out more cries of pain, the orc mages were casting more healing spells I'm guessing such that's what the bright green seemed to do.

The giant orc stood back up and flung parts of the road towards the infantry, they dropped the rockets and tried to avoid the flying debris but was too slow, they exploded into red mist as the chunks of road smashed into them at fast speeds.

Parts of the soldiers remained on the ground i backed out of the gas stationed and drove the hell out of the area, I seen the remaining soldiers running and I pulled in front of them and yelled

"GET THE FUCK IN"

The Soldiers did not hesitate and leaped into the back of the truck, they begun to fire as the remaining soldier jumped in, the truck was over capacity the back could fit 16 and there was about 23 soldiers in the back, it was crowded but that did not concern them one bit, they fired over each if it was possible.

I pressed down on the gas and weaved through the broken road as blown cars and other debris filled the street, I yelled out of the window again.

"Shoot the orcs behind the giant one, the ones wearing robes!"

They changed their target to the mages and all I heard was roaring gunfire, I looked through the side mirror to see the giant orc collapse on the ground dead still, and shrunk to its normal size and it died.

The gunfire stopped as I drove out of the city and bumped into more military forces regrouping on the highway, I stopped and let the remaining soldiers hopped out, they gave me their thanks and ran off.

I left heading back to my house still shaking as I remember the blood and bodies I have just seen.

By the time I arrived back at the camp ground my truck was filthy, the back of it filled with blood and bullet casings, the blood meant some of the soldiers were wounded yet they still fought, that was when I puked and my head began to spin.

When my head stopped being dizzy I sat down next to the truck and flashes of scenes from the city played in my head, my body would not move the Adeline finally stopping.

I raised my hand in front of my face and looked at it as it trembled, I forced myself to stand and went into the main office of the camp and turned on the Tv, the news talked about the events in the city and how a orc was discovered with a different kind of robes, which had the ability to open up smaller portals temporary, they also talked about the giant orc and showed images of damages done to the city.

I turned it off and laid in bed as I lay on the bed words appeared before my eyes

A book appeared in my hand and the words faded, I opened the book and seen this.

Simple Raise Undead

Info - Raise a Creature back to life as an Undead which will follow your every order.

The Undead creature will recover from its wound but will keep the type of body it had when raised.

Skeletons: are fragile and do not have their full strength they don't require food

Zombies: keep their Strength and flesh they have at time of death they are like humans but just undead they do need to consume food

The body of Zombies regress to that of their 20's or 30's if the zombie is over the age of 50

Skeletons and zombies can't use all of their Skills or knowledge unless the skill is increased they are able to learn new skills and other stuff alike

Skeletons and zombies can get more of there flesh and bodies regained as the skill is leveled up

Skeletons and zombies require you to find a body

Skeletons and zombies have 10% of their skills, abilities, and repair to the body done once raised until a higher level

All raised creatures keep their memories before death but can not remember all of there professions and skills besides 10%

Special Undead can be discovered as you raise the undead creatures

Robotic Engineer

Simple robotic Core

Info - Creates a robotic core which gives life to a new robotic device

Requires you to make the Shape of the core and the core itself

Robots can only follow basic commands until higher level

That is all the book said as of now it contained two pages one containing necromancy and another one for robotics, once I closed the book it vanished and once I thought of the book it appeared.

I thought it was fake till I tried casting the Raise undead spell

"Come Forth and Rise Again" ~Raise Undead~

I chanted it like it was not my first time. All I had to do was think of the spell and those words appeared, so I spoke them and a Black color mist appeared as I raised my hand over the ground.

The mist fell to the ground and more words appeared.

No body found in a 10 feet radius where the spell was casted

Just like that I now had magic and that was the start of my journey.
