《Project Abra》[REDACTED]

So the computerized forest had some helpful items in it. There was a screwdriver, but there was also something much more important. A backpack! If I have a backpack I don't have to carry stuff in my hands which is a big advantage. Right now I am looting the kitchen again so I have food. It only looks like there's one kind of nutrient paste, which is unfortunate because flavors would be nice. Also there is water which is good, although this place has too much water for my taste. I can't seem to eat enough, as I don't seem to be satisfied.
What percentage of my daily calories have I eaten?
[23%]
How? I've had 3 tubes of this stuff!
[Your recommended daily calorie intake is 8000 calories at optimal temperature. At this temperature you should be eating an additional 1000.]
That's not a normal amount of calories
[Well, my power consumption eats up a lot that, leaving a normal human amount going into your body]
I guess that makes sense…
After having collected some helpful survival tools (A frighteningly large kitchen knife) , I set out back down the hallway. Apparently most of the lights are still out, and the ones that are still working make a loud buzz. I get to one of the piles of junk made of rebar and stone, and I quickly look around for the path through. After several moments of looking I found it. And the tufts of fur that are lining it. The dark concealed the fur well. After crawling through the dark tunnel, I emerge into a tunnel that looks the exact same. There are several more doors on this side however.
Directly to the left is a door leading into a destroyed, blackened auditorium, with the sign above it reading “GRENADE BASEBALL” The wall to my right has a door shaped crater, as well as a bent metal door sitting on the floor. It's relatively obvius what happened there. Choosing to ignore that, I push forward past doors labeled with things like “Synthesizing machine”,”Backup server 42”, and a heavy door with a sign reading “Shadow Containment”.

What's in there?
[I am not allowed to tell you.]
Wait, so you know what they are
[Yes.]
Can you tel-
[It is stored in my self censorship log]
That seems like a bad thing
[Protocol]
While continuing down the hallway, it split back towards the cryohall. Pressing forward past that hallway there are less doors, and most of them are barricaded. The door reading “Staircase” is shoved open which is a good sign. I quickly walk over and look through the door, to see that the staircase has collapsed down … maybe 3 floors?
Suddenly a loud cracking noise emanates from further down the hallway, followed by a resounding thud that I could feel through the floor. From above the stairwell, I can hear the wrenching of metal, and another flight of stairs collapses downward compounding to the stack below.
Damn. I wonder what that was about
I turn around and am surprised to see the hallway is awash in bright blue light. I started walking towards its source.
That's the exit! I thought we would be here longer.
After several minutes of walking we finally got to the end of the hallway. The hallway shears off into a huge open area, at least a kilometer to the other wall. In the center there's a pool of slightly glowing water, surrounded by a steep incline of ice with concrete and rebar splicing through it. Further away from the center, the terrain flattens out into a grassy moor of purple green hue. Occasional there are stunted trees on the moor, blowing in the breeze that circles around this place. Being carried along by the wind are small spheres the color of leather, and some small blue crystals. In the center of all of this there is a black blocky mess with the vitruvian man.

What is that?
[REDACTED]
Is it harmful?
[No. You are not allowed to know of its existence]
But, I am aware of its existence
[The Second Vastira is controlled by SynthCo, and is not to be viewed by civilians]
But I'm an employee.
[Of low ranking]
Ok, but this is an emergency situation!
[Seeing the Second Vastira is not required for this situation]
Restart Jade
[Restart Yes/No]
Yes
The silence is immediate, and I shiver a little. I look up, and see the small blue ball, around the size of a grapefruit at the center of all of this. I can feel the heat emanating from the alien sphere floating high above the water. I can see it is spinning quickly, and I can't discern any surface features.
Suddenly the orb is blocked out by the self censorship program in jade, and my mind feels fuller again.
[Viewing of the Second Vasitra is not allowed to civilians]
Satisfied with my view, I turn around and start walking towards an icy boulder. It's roughly cylindrical, but flat enough to lean against. I sit down and look around at the purplish grass. Across the pool there are stacks and stacks of shipping containers with vines growing on them. Focusing back towards myself, I suddenly see an arctic fox pop its head out from the cliff edge ahead of me, looking around inquisitively, and then leaps up to the moor. It crouches down and starts moving slowly towards something hidden in the tall grass.
After several minutes of stalking its prey, the fox lunges and grabs the mouse in its crushing jaws. Suddenly the boulder I'm leaning on, grumbles, and then starts lengthening. I scramble up and grab my bag, watching as the boulder turns into a giant pill bug and then right itself. So does the fox. The pillbug turns towards the fox, and then emits a low rumbling noise. The fox yelped back, and the pillbug stopped making noise. Its icy armor drew closer knit, and then at its front end the grass parted as if blown by an invisible force. The fox continued to stand their ground.
Then with a grumble, the icebug blasted the fox a meter back. In its panic it dropped the mouse and ran back to its den. The icebug lumbered up to the mouse, and then ate it, before laying back down.
That's something to worry about

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
