《Dreams Recounted》#33 | Recursion

I lift my head up from the wooden school desk noticing I have missing memories and look around to see where I am. I see a basic and dilapidated classroom, the desk I am sitting in is in the second row second from the left. The door is against the right wall in the corner closest to the front. The front itself has a sole blackboard hung up with some writing on it, but in front of the middle of the blackboard is a white pillar of rock obscuring most of the writing.
All I can see of the top line of the text is as follows “If you ca█ ████ ████ ██ █eans that you'' and the bottom line reads “are not co████████ ██████ ███ █ ████ ███ ████ █e in the rabbit hole”. The pillar and wall surrounding the writing is graffitied with crude imagery of snakes and repeating patterns.
Looking at myself over I see myself as a black haired girl instead of myself.
Exiting the classroom, the door did not lead to the outside or to the rest of a school but to a giant warehouse full of random objects from a small grove of trees to shelves of shovels and other classrooms.
The small grove of trees housed a small sign at the base of one of them telling the reader that a soul is hiding in the grove. I walk through between them searching for the soul and come out the other end empty handed. Behind the grove is a single picnic table with someone sitting on the other end facing away from me.
I try to talk to him but he completely ignores me. Going up in front of him I wave my hand in front of his face but he is asleep, I don’t wake him. To the left of me is a shelf of assorted blood types and I go to check what was on the other side.

On the other side of the divider I see a river running through the floor, the water coloured neon blue. Other people are crowding around and in the river searching for something. I call out to them to see what they are looking for or if they lost anything, they all freeze and turn their heads as one. They all have super dilated pupils and are clothed in shredded cloth armour and blood.
They are all searching for souls and see me as one. They collectively rush at me silently, crude makeshift weapons in their hands.
…
I decide not to continue on and instead choose to go back around the shelf, covered in scratches and shredded clothes. Heading back to the grove to find that soul I reread the sign to make sure I didn't miss anything. After a bit of searching and sneaking past two other people I eventually find a yellow cat in the canopy of one of the tree's. I swiftly climb the tree and grab the cat.
I retrace my steps back to the picnic table, the man awake and looking at me. The cat that I had in my arms is gone. He stands up and tells me to follow. He walks away from me a few strides, leans down, and pulls up a trapdoor that I hadn't noticed before.
He tells me to follow and I do. Dropping down hole in the ground I enter a sort of mineshaft that leads back on itself multiple times. He starts walking off and I follow him again.
We come up from a jagged hole in the ground ascending up into a well lit classroom. Is a completely pull myself up I see an almost exact copy of the classroom I woke up in, the only differences being that it is much cleaner and there are people at each desk including myself at the one I was seated in before.

They all seem shocked and confused. I lean back against the wall, put my hands in the pocket of my hoodie and let him do the talking. He seems to be trying to warn them of something but none of them believe him and assume it’s a prank.
Two people, a boy and girl, get up angrily at us and they both stomp up to me muttering about stupid jokes. One goes to my left and the other to my right and both grab my arms at the same time to try and throw me out.
This makes me panic and seems to dig up past trauma as I black out, waking up to two bodies on the floor pouring blood and their heads separated from their torso. Everyone else in the room starts panicking and trying to leave or fight.
This triggers something as they slowly start looking like the same people from the river. The man that came with me, seeing what happened, questions to himself how many times this has happened before.
He turns around and starts writing on the blackboard. He holds them off from destroying his message as I run out to get away from the swarm that was threatening to overwhelm me. The outside is exactly as I saw it before except for being a little cleaner.
Deciding that getting as far away from the classroom as possible is the best idea, I go back along my original path instead this time continuing on past the neon river.
