《Mwizi Tales》The Ice Legion

Zade
As the gang all left Danshu to enter the Ice Legion, as they entered they all immediately felt the cold air and saw snow coming down from the sky. Zade knew of snow but it still felt weird and the cold was unbearable as everyone had heavy jackets on. “Alright we are landing in Linvik, try to stay on your best behavior while we attend this tournament,” Alakazam said with a smirk, Zade shook her head and looked down at the beautiful sight. A large colosseum could be seen below them that was packed with thousands of people.
As they landed and parked the airship, Alakazam led the three of them towards the arena, he was in disguise, of course, this time he looked like an Arlish man, wearing a fur coat. He had blonde straight hair and piercing blue eyes. He spoke to the guards in clear Arlish, Zade was very curious when he learned Arlish as well. It had only been seven years but Zade still couldn't help but feel proud, the little brat she left had grown up. Maybe not mentally since he thought he could challenge the Crime Captains. They were quickly let in and they squeezed through the crowd.
Making their way through the crowd and taking their seats, they luckily made it just in time, as a tall slender man was standing alone in the center, he was an Arlish man with long jet black hair, he had tied back into a ponytail. He was well dressed in a sort of mixture between a coat and tuxedo. “Greetings to all that were able to make it and to all that have traveled for this lovely Trial of the Espada.” Zade took a breath of relief as she saw he was speaking clear Masiyan. “We have over a hundred combatants and they will all be fighting for this!” He says, raising a graceful-looking blade in the air.

The blade looked beautiful, its hilt was golden with sigils on it, and the blade itself was perfect stainless steel and crackling lightning can be seen coming off the blade. “The winner will get this blade, its name is Stormcaller.” The crowd screams in joy, Zade sighed. She felt the process was dumb and rigged. The Espada family held this trial, among the members of their family. This entire thing is mainly just a hype ceremony to show off their big new member. The battles all went as she predicted. Two combatants would face each other, the biggest one on, and go to the stands.
Alakazam seemed to notice she was bored and gave her a sly look, “what now?” She asked unamused, “cheer up at a tournament! And we're looking for our future fourth member!” Alakazam said smiling as he pointed to one combatant who stuck out. He wore a bright dark purple jacket with pink feathers, he had very long straight hair that was red with blonde strands. The other combatant was a large burly man, with blonde buzzed hair and a prickly beard. The bigger man wielded a large double-sided blade and pounded his chest, letting out a powerful warcry.
He rushed towards the colorful man, the smaller and skinnier man wielded only a rapier. The man quickly dodged the bigger man's strike, he stabbed at the man's side swiftly and then continued to strike at their open spots in only a split second. Agitating the bigger man as he shrugged off the small wounds. The smaller man did almost a taunt, motioning his left hand towards him and winking. The man hoofed out loud and sprinted towards him spinning the double-sided blade between his hands with great speed. The skinnier man dodged and held his foot out, causing the bigger man to trip and land on his face. The crowd laughed at the display as the announcer seemed to be getting angry as well.

“Perhaps this fighter isn't following the script,” Zade said laughing, as Alakazam seemed to be seriously analyzing this fighter's moves. He stood confidently and smiled as he drew in the dirt with his rapier a circle around himself, “come on honey what are you shy?” He said in a taunting voice, as the man stood up and whipped his face of dirt and just threw his blade straight at the other man, he leaped up with both legs raised gracefully dodging as the blade then got lodged into the wall. He walked up to the bladeless man and threw the rapier between his legs. It landed very close to very dangerous territory.
The announcer held in his anger but his face looked like he was ready to scream, as he reluctantly announced, "and the winner is…" The slender man shook his head waving it off as he left the arena. The crowd looked confused as to why he would just leave in the middle of winning. And the announcer looked even angrier, fuming even as he took a deep breath to calm down. "That's our target," Alakazam said with a confident smile. "Why him? We couldn't choose someone who… doesn't stand out like a peacock." Anansi asked, trying to still watch the show.
"No point in questioning his logic, he went for me when I was going to get executed and a boy who was being chased by the Zhenjin family." Zade shrugged as she stood up and followed Alakazam out back. The three of them followed the direction the mysterious man went to find him buying some liquor. Alakazam initiated it by walking in line with the man. As Zade sighed and stood next to the shivering boy.
She could understand why he might want to recruit the spectacle but not what they were to gain from this boy. Sure he had that sword but that only made them bigger targets. As Zade and Anansi stood in silence, eventually Alakazam returned with the man, "say hello to Bolt, Bolt this is Zade and Anansi." Alakazam said introducing us in Masiyan. "Pleasure to meet you all, your boss is insane. And that's just the kind of man I like." He says shaking both their hands and offering a smile.
She shook his hand but then looked back to Alakazam. "What exactly is our colorful friend talking about?" Zade asked, "ugh yeah, you aren't thinking of something crazy. Please tell me you aren't." Anansi asked as Alakazam only responded with a wink.

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
