《Blue Road》Episode 5 (Part 1)

As the train got closer to the underground tunnel, Richard turned to Fawn and asked where they’re heading. She replied it being her parents’ birthplace and that her killers are currently hiding there. They need to prepare for what’s ahead before they enter the city.
As they approached them, Richard’s face went pale. Once the train comes to a stop, the passengers from the station will notice his appearance. His eyes darted back and forth as he searched for a place to hide. He asked Fawn if she could turn him invisible, but she mentioned her energy hadn’t been recharged yet.
The train soon came to a stop, with Richard in the middle of the area. The doors opened, and Richard braced for the worst. However, the passengers just walked inside the vehicle, ignoring the strange creature in the center. Richard got out of the monorail and looked back with uncertainty. Nobody seemed to pay attention to him, or even acknowledge he was there. Why were there so many people heading into the monorail? How come it seemed like most of them wanted to leave as soon as possible?
“Hey, Fawn, do you know why—?”
“No. But let’s not let it derail our plans.”
“Oh, right.”
.-.-.-.
Richard and Fawn got out of the station and took the time to explore the city. Colorful lights and posters plastered all over buildings, some of them swapped out for a few seconds to advertise a different shop or set the mood. Most buildings were stacked tall, as if almost reaching for the heavens, making them seem larger than life. Even the smaller second-hand shops were a part of larger branching companies that expanded on the higher levels.
Richard and Fawn came across only a small number of people walking about, some of them talking on their phones, others minding their business. Many vehicles passed them by, everyone went about in their own lives.

“Remember, we need to find my killer.” Fawn reminded him.
“But it could be anybody. Who knows where they are, especially in a big city like this?” Richard complained. “Are you sure they’re here?”
“Positive.”
“Do you know anything else before...” Richard hesitated. “Well, dying?”
Fawn stopped and shook her head. “Not right now, sorry. My memory is pretty fuzzy on some details.”
“Alright, no worries. We can still find some other methods of catching them. It won’t be easy, but—”
“Hold on, now?” Fawn interrupted. “Out in the open like this? You might get into terrible trouble.”
“Oh please, nobody’s noticing or caring...” Richard waved it off.
“Maybe not, but the police officers and the government folks here could spot you. And if they do...”
“You’re right, that’s a fair point. I think I’m going to need a disguise.”
They split up near an alleyway to search for articles of clothing, something to hide his skin. Richard searched the trash bin only to find a torn-up hat. He continued his search in different and secluded locations when Fawn floated over to get his attention.
“Hey, I found something that might be useful to wear,” Fawn announced.
“Oh, great—” Richard turned to face her with a smile. That faded once he found Fawn had a trench coat and matching hat at her disposal. He stood there staring at them in dead silence for a short while. “You have got to be kidding me.”
“What’s the problem?”
“I’m going to look even more suspicious if I wear that!”
“Is that so?”
“Ok, how about we go to a clothing store and buy something nice to wear in the meantime?”
“While looking like a blue blob?”
Richard mumbled something under his breath. “Alright fine, just give that to me already.” He snatched the trench coat and hat, hid behind a wall to put them on before heading to the first store in his peripheral.

Sod's Law (Dropped)
This fiction has been dropped, you're more than welcome to read it anyway (there is sort of an ending). But you have been warned... Sod's law is a more extreme version of Murphy's law. While Murphy's law says that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong (eventually), Sod's law requires that it always goes wrong with the worst possible outcome. For example, concepts such as "bad fortune will be tailored to the individual" and "good fortune will occur in spite of the individual's actions" are sometimes given as examples of Sod's law in action. This would broaden Sod's law to a general sense of being "mocked by fate". In these aspects it is similar to some definitions of irony, particularly the irony of fate. - Definitions of Sod's Law on Wikipedia. The protagonist, as many before them, and many who followed, thought they were just entering a VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing-Game). Unbeknownst to them however, was a short paragraph in the Terms & Conditions, that, upon agreement, would actually transport them to a fantasy world, loosely based on the game they thought they were entering. - Something anyone could be forgiven for, no-one reads them after all. In this new world, they discover that people are born with “Traits”, a System recognised, ability, skill, or talent, that they are born with. Sod's Law was not a trait they, or anyone else for that matter, would want. Pure madness follows. Yup, this is about a character transferred to a fantasy game-world with the worst luck imaginable. This is my first fiction so I apologise for any grammar and spelling mistakes that may be made. Hopefully it is readable, and if so please tell me! But if it's not, also tell me, but in a constructive way if at all possible? Due to the nature of the “Trait” the story will be dark in places, with plenty of gore and profanity, hence the tags. There may also be scenes of a sexual nature, but nothing full on – sorry guys but you'll have to go elsewhere for that.
