“So, how did it go?” Fawn asked as soon as Richard returned.
“It went well.” He replied, scratching the back of his head. “Although, a little too well.”
“Really, huh? At least you didn’t get in more trouble.”
Fawn volunteered to get the weapon over to her desk without Mindy noticing. He headed back to his cubicle in the meantime. Richard agreed to the idea and let her do just that. He went back to his chair, rested his arms on the table, and stared at the computer screen. A hand tapped him on his shoulder as someone spoke from behind. Richard jolted out of his chair and turned around, only to find Kelly standing there.
“H-Hey, how’s it going?” She said, squeezing her arm.
“Oh, hi, I’m doing fine. What are you doing out of your desk?”
“I’m taking a break. Ken’s taking my spot at the receptionist desk, Mindy’s also watching over him, making sure he doesn’t get away from work this time.”
“Fair enough.”
“Hey, do you have any plans after work?”
Richard gulped and looked away. Oh…
“Is there something wrong?”
“Uh, no, I don’t. Why do you ask?”
“Sweet.” Kelly took out a pamphlet and pointed at a specific spot. “I was wondering if you’d meet me there, so we could hang out? I mean, it’d be a nice way to get to know each other better since we barely have time during work.” Her eyes shifted to the floor. “If you’re busy or don’t want to go, I understand...”
Richard gasped. “Are you kidding? Why would I refuse your offer? I’d love to take you up on that!”
“You mean it? Fantastic!” She ran over and gave him a big hug. “I’ll see you after work.” Kelly turned on her heel and went back to the stall.

Richard’s mouth gaped as he watched her go. He sighed and smiled to himself, thinking about how the event later tonight could go down.
“Hey, I’m back.” Fawn floated over and noticed his face flustered with shades of pink. “Did I miss something while I was away?”
Richard snapped back to reality and turned to her. “Oh, hey, do we have plans after work? Is it alright if we take a detour from the motel?”
“Where are you going with this?”
Richard explained how Kelly invited him to a place called The Gullible Pegasus after work. Fawn frowned and reminded him of what happens to him when night falls. Richard’s expression fell as he buried his face with his hands.
“Oh no, what have I done?”
“What were you thinking?”
“But I can’t change my mind. I promised Kelly that I’d show up,” Richard mentioned. “It seems like she needs someone by her side. I know it’s not the best of ideas, but I can use a disguise. I want to go!” He clasped his hands and pleaded.
Fawn thought about it before sighing. “I hope you know what you’re doing.”
“Thank you.” Richard smiled at her. He looked over and noticed Ken give him a nasty glare. Richard squinted his eyes and looked away. I have a hunch on my number two suspect, but I’m going to need proof first.

Prime Magus of Earth
"In the beginning, I had no idea what was going on. My brother and friends were gone, my sight was gone, and yet I still saw things, things about this world that no one else knew. I'm not special, or gifted, anyone could have done what I did. I just got lucky, especially after everything that happened afterwards. Magic already existed, it always had. Humans just didn't know how to do it, didn't know how to nuture that small spark in them. Now you do." - Prime Magus of Earth, Alexander Sorin. November 2021 Update: So, it has been four years since I stopped working on this. Reading back, the first "book" is finished. It has what feels like an ending to an arc. Now it isn't a perfect story but I still like it and I can see myself starting the second book, might even this on Amazon or something. My biggest regret was never coming up with artwork for the cover though. Maybe I'll look into it.
