《The Void Kingdom》Ch 11 | Song Huang

Wang Ming slowly opened his eyes and looked around. He wasn't in his dorm room nor was in any place of his familiarity. He frowned.
"Where's this place?" Gathering all the strength in his body, he supported up his body with his right hand and sat up straight on the bed. He looked around once more to find some clues about his location but got nothing in the end
"I was running in the playground, and then suddenly everything went dark. Am I in the hospital?" When he got nothing from the surrounding, slowly he connected small fragments of his memory and deduced, before sighing, "Sigh… second time in hospital in just 7 days. My time to leave this world is nearing."
"Oh! You are awake? You slept for 3 hours straight. Don't over exhaust yourself like this from next time."At that time, suddenly a loud and happy voice came, followed by it, a man dressed up in a white coat, with long black hair and golden eyes entered the room.
Wang Ming was startled at first, but soon he calmed down as he remembered the man entering the room, he was a doctor of Nan Hai University infirmary, named as Song Huang.
Young, handsome, rich and polite. He possesses all the qualities that an ideal man should have, but he still works as a doctor at the university.
Why?
No one knows. He can easily earn from his face but he is still stuck here in the infirmary.
Some people say he's a top-ranking official in the infamous Ning Corporation, while some say he's the son of a university's trustee. But whatever he's, he's rich and powerful yet a good man for sure.
Looking at the man walking towards him, Wang Ming showed a rare smile and rubbed the back of his head embarrassedly, "I am here again."

"I always tell you to clear up your mind with all that nonsense and move ahead in life, why don't you listen to me?" The doctor, Song Huang, came forward and sat beside Wang Ming on the bed. He was speaking just like an old friend, calmly and persuasively.
"I can't… or else I'll really hurt others. You should believe me." Wang Ming shook his head and the smile from his face faded away but the expressionless normal face of his was nowhere to be seen.
Knowing about the unwavering nature of Wang Ming, Song Huang didn't insist any further, he had already tried everything he can do in the past few years but the result was always same and thus he changed the direction of chat, "It's your nth time being here in 2 years. Even I forgot how many times you have visited me."
"Yeah, thanks for taking care of me all these days."
"What are you saying? That's my duty." Song Huang smiled, "By the way, how's the renovation?"
"I wasn't even able to guess where I am. Did you rebuild everything from scratch?" As if talking to his parents and close kin, Wang Ming opened up his thoughts in front of the doctor and got involved in a normal conversation unlike his dull conversation with others.
"I don't have that much time for useless things. Just some small patchworks." Song Huang glanced around the room for a while and said.
"What-" Wang Ming nodded but he suddenly remembered about his job and was about to ask for the time when Song Huang suddenly interrupted with an inquiring smile.
"Little Ming, you came in contact with any Dragon Fruit in the past few days?"
"Hmm…Yeah! While returning from the hospital yesterday I saw a man selling some shady antiques on the roadside. Along with those shady antiques, there was a Dragon Fruit with him. Since I was feeling hungry, I bought it and ate it." Wang Ming didn't think much about it and told everything. As the saying goes, one should never lie or hide things from a doctor.

"What?! You ate it?!" Always calm and serene looking face of Song Huang suddenly contracted and he stood up in shock.
"Huh? I should not have eaten Dragon Fruit? Was my today's condition due to it?" Taken aback due to the sudden reaction of Song Huang, Wang Ming stood up on the bed and asked.
Today's condition was really weird and he has not experienced anything like that before. Was this all doing of that shady Dragon Fruit?
Sure enough! One should really never eat things from unknown sources.
"No… nothing like that. You should rest here, I'll return after making a call." Suppressing down his intense reaction, Song Huang returned back to his usual state in a fraction of second.
"Uh...Ok… wait! What's the time?" Wang Ming felt wired due to rapidly changing reactions of Song Huang, but since it wasn't related to him, he didn't ask anything more and was about to lie down again when he remembered about his job and he inquired about the time.
"Time? It's already past 11. But why so suddenly? Didn't I say that you slept for 3 hours?" Song Huang spoke as he fished out his phone from his trousers.
"Crap! I am late!" Wang Ming leapt down from the bed and rushed towards the door. His face painted in panic and anxiety.
"Late for what?" Song Huang also panicked asked hurriedly, seeing the departing figure of Wang Ming.
"I am an intern at Ning Corporation." Wang Ming shouted as he rushed back.
